Hi, We are moving over in about 3 months and I have been on line searching for places to rent. I am asking for advice on what people prefer.... apartment living in the towers, townhouse/ villas ...
hiya, will respond, in hopes someone responds to one of my posts! don't have kids, can't comment on how that might change things but i can share a few things with you for you to look at. i'm canadian, been here for 7 years, and moved a few times.. lived in both villas and apartments, in the city and away from the city. and in conclusion... 1. i woudn't choose to live in the city again. parking situation is messy, hectic, people drive more hectic, more traffic.. more old build than new build places. that being said, it might depend on where the work office is as the commute is usually he biggest factor. there are SOME newer buildings and lovely places in the city too 2. i prefer a bit outside the city. al raha beach area has a few options, the compounds of al zeina, al muneera, al bandar. and there is a LOT coming online in the next couple months to a year. rents will go down. there is a sort of inflated bubble in this area though because of consistent demand, but it's lovely. there are townhouse options, apartments, duplexes, beachside, roadside you name it. 3. i have lived in al reef, villas and apartments. it's less pricey as it's abit further. it's a nice community, kid friendly, shops, gardens, playgrounds. the villas are not the best layed out or most beautiful.. 4. you should look at dubizzle.com, select abu dhabi apartments. you can see by area the prices if you select based on rooms. all the above areas mentioned, i think are near some schools but i can't tell you exactly which ones (but you can google maps it!) you might want to look at saadiyat island, beautiful but pricey . beachy. at the other end of the city. reem island has a LOT of inventory, new buildings.. no beach. these areas are opposite ends to the first few suggested. let me know if you have specific questions!
