She's a live in...... For the record, we have asked very nicely, we have been firm regarding this and some other issues, all to no avail. She's stubborn and arrogant too :(( which is why we are releasing her. I wouldn't want to pass her on to another family.

IMHO....re maids & mobile phones.... I have to concur that if I had thought this through I would have kept the phone we bought ours and given it to her daily from 7pm to 7 am because she tends to spend so much darn time yapping all day, it drives me nuts. I have asked her on several occasions to get on with things and save chat time for later but it's like talking to a brick wall. She has two phones, I guess one is for her calls to and from the Philippines. We'll be looking for new help in April,she's been here two years and I feel it's time for her to move on. If any of you ladies will be releasing a trustworthy one, please try to get my attention via expatwoman, thanks!

Zannie, that sounds about right, if it was the superior quality Aed 85-100 is what they charge. It is delicious and friends who have visited the Yemen say it's not that much cheaper. As you say, as long as they eat and enjoy it, good buy! :))

Regarding SISTERS Salon/The Village FYI....please ensure that you check your bills against what treatment you actually had. One of my colleagues, a long time Sisters client, was recently dumbfounded when just by pure chance she overheard the cashier go through her bill and realised she was about to be over charged. The beautician in question had made a mistake and was charging for a full treatment but in actual fact this is not what had taken place. Sadly, when asked, rather than admit to her mistake she insisted she was correct! Bizarre! It has left my friend in two minds whether to move on and use another salon particularly because she is so disappointed w/the beautician in question who opted to lie over such an issue and make her look like she was avoiding paying up. I tend to be distracted and usually pay up but from now on I'm going to check what they write & what I'm being charged for.

Thanks...:) I have done pretty much all that, i.e. drag, click trim, save as... I guess I was expecting something to say "done" etc., & when it reverted to original size I was losing it! I'll give it a try tomorrow w/fresh eyes and clear brain......fingers crossed...

Andi_diver...... (I know, seriously.....so ignorant in these matters!) As far as editing goes.... the option to trim comes up & have attempted to use it, seems to work as I o it but then reverts to original size...hmm, what obvious option or command am I missing? TIA

Thanks! here goes... yes, "filmed" the bit I wanted on my Nikon and transferred to my MacBook...it says 64MB. I was attempting to attach to an e.mail & a sign popped up informing me it has to be 25MB or less. Went to MacBook forum and tried to follow various instructions, not successfully :( I have tried right clicking, nothing happens. When the vid plays back it's doing it thru QuickTimePlayer --hubby set all this up but too busy to help me thru w/this right now. On the forum it says go to the file and right click but being the total dinosaur, i can't locate a file...(??) I hope you can decipher all that and try to guide me , thanks! :)

Thanks....will play around w/this and hopefully manage to compress. For some reason nothing w/compress is included from the drop menus coming thru!
