Our friends moved into Phase two 2 months ago, they love the eco vibe, solar panels, 1 AC unit running the whole house, the Bio Domes which they can grow their own fruit/veg in. Downside, they can't park the car at front door, they have to walk about 150m to the house. The Golf carts are not released, there is a space for golf carts outside the house but could be a year or so before they get them (if they get them). They struggled with the rain, the house isn't water proof and they had a river running down their stairs. It's very quiet as not many people have moved in. Beware of the speed bumps. (They must be 8 inches high) and will really damage cars if constantly using them, friends use the back entrance so they don't have to go over the speed bumps.

I too love Layan, quiet little community even though its on the main road, but don't worry you don't hear the traffic. Taxis are always waiting at Ranches so only a 15 mins wait. Great little shop, spa, dry cleaners. Security are always helpful. You're out of the way for traffic too, never hit traffic in the mornings or evenings.

I've been on Microgynon for 10 years plus. Then last year my doctor (in UK) swapped me to Rigevidon. He assured me its the same pill but Microgynon is no longer being manufactured, they are now using Rigevidon, its the same pill just a different manufacturer. Microgynon is being phased out in the UK. I stocked up on Microgynon when I was in Thailand (no prescription needed) so I have never tried Rigevidon, however I've got loads of Ridevidon if you want it. I'm not using it as we had a break to start a family.

I had mine done by Dr. Shahram from the Specialist Medical Centre. I was very put off with Dr. JK, he was an hour late for the consultation, no one apologized, spent 5 mins with him then was carted off to a nurse! Please note that he also made it very clear that he no longer carries out the follow up appointments, this is now done by his colleague. I felt that he just wanted your money and then you were out the door. Another one I saw was Dr. Sanjay Parashar, he was good and got 2 friends who have had theirs done by him, however it was Dr. Shahram who spent over 4 hours with me and didn't push me into having them done, he was very honest and went through all the options. He also uses glue so there are no stitches so the scars are very minimal. Everyone is different but I suggest you go and see a few different surgeons and get their advise, you will know straight away which doctor is best for you. FYI, surgery is now around 30 to 35k (well that what i was quoted by all 3 doctors 18 months ago).

Oh no, I wish I never asked now as I've already made my way through a box of Strawberry, Green tea and Mango. Can't stop eating them :-)

I would highly recommend Dr. Shahram at the Specialist Medical Centre. I went to numerous consultations including Dr. Khan but I felt that he was very commercial and just wanted the money and he no longer does the follow up check ups after the surgery, it's done by his colleague. I chose Dr. Shahram as he was the only one who made me feel like I wasn't just another number. He put my mind at rest and I love the results.

Sounds identical LOL! If you live in dubai (I don't) then there are TWO pests in little orange trucks :) I've spoke to AH and they told me he's supposed to come and empty the bins twice a week, weds and sat but i've seen him on other days. I've told the lady across the road about him and she said that he pesters her maid and told her that he wasnt going to empty her bins if she didnt give him water. But i've seen him emptying it since so i dont think theres any problem by ignoring the door bell. I hope he stops soon. edited by kcson on 02/02/2013

Well the garbage truck has just shown up (he now seems to come on random days) and he rang the bell. DH answered and the guy said "Water!" DH just replied "No more!" and made an enough/khalas motion with his hands and closed the door. Hopefully he's got the message. If not, I'll complain to the company that runs our development. OMG. I have the same problem. I'm guessing you also live in the same village. He's keeps asking me to find a job for his brother. I also made the mistake of saying hello to him and giving him water but now the door bell doesn't stop. Everytime i see the little orange truck i hide lol.
