This thread has put a smile on my face. Love to see such kindness. 3 expecting mums all getting lovely preggy pillows courtesy of 3 generous posters. Love it.

Cyclone T, I'm joining your challenge! Just a thought, maybe we could post here and let fellow EW'er know which products we have sucessfully found an alternative for? A drop in the ocean, yes - but it's a start. We met a wonderful couple on our honeymoon in Maldives, they were living in India and the time and they had sucessfully managed 2 years of avoiding "made in china".

Anyone else find it ironic how people like her with such twisted views are the ones who's children would benefit most from a nursery etc.

Thanks Sals. The home is very empty without his ginger cuteness. Just driving me a bit insane that we'll never know what happened to him. And I pray that if someone has him and they're not going to give him back, that they take him to the vets, he was due to have deworming and stuff for mites placed on the scruff of his neck but had a slight bulge after a vaccination so I was holding off a few days. But he really needed something for the mites :-(

Lol. Sorry DC, but I have to laugh. I'd go with the plan of a driver to drive her up and down betweent all the Emirates. Should keep her busy and be worth every penny even if you are paying ;-) My MIL arrives on the 9th and I can't wait. Sorry, bet that doesn't help but if it's any consolation, I used to hate her and dread her visits too.

Yes. I had it both times. Dry, rusty/tin taste in my mouth until about 18 weeks. And then it went the opposite. I had to jeep my distance when chatting to people for fear of spitting all over them during the conversation. Aaahh... Pregnancy, such an attractive time in ones life. Lol.

There are loads of reviews comparisons online if you google. I loved the look of the vibe. But it got some bad reviews and didn't seem as robust as the others. I'll try dig out the info I have and send it to you. Our laptop is out of order so doing everything on my phone...not as quick and easy but I'll see what I can find. Not even sure which one we got in the end. I think the sport? I used it quite a bit in the beginning but not so much now... Infact it's been sat in the garage for a whole month untouched now. But yours will be closer in age so I'm sure it'll be put to great use ;-)

We've got 2 shirts with stains on too. In 3 weeks. It's blue ink though, so kind of blends in. Not sure what they've been up to and why the aprons in the classrooms are not being used.

This is something that FREAKED me out leading up to the birth of my second. My mum and sister where out, so I knew DS would be happy at home, but as it was going to be his first time without me - I prefered DH to stay with him. The first night the nurses actually invited DS to stay at the hospital with DH, but we decided not to, as it would be more noisy for everyone involved and although DS cried buckets when he left me, he at least got a good nights sleep at home and was fresh in the morning ready to deal with the new excitement and added stresses of having this new "creature" in his life. DH also slept much better which is always a good thing (lol) so all round, it worked for us! Wish I hadnt stressed out about it as much as i did. Hindsight huh ;-)

Keep your cool, move out of the way if u can, don't slam on breaks/use hand gestures/slow down/speed up or do anything to antagonize them. It's wrong, it's disgusting and not to mention dangerous, but the faster you get yourself out of their paths-the better IMO.

Came back here to add that we have the Priori Fix and the priori and the fix is much more sturdy. We only got the priori as the fi was far too heavy to travel with. To back up PP... The Tobi also seems to be a lot higher up so your LO gets more of a view ;-)

I'd recommend the priori. I have had many friends complain that they babies/toddlers have been able to get their arm out of the Tobi no matter how tight they pulled it. Not good when you're driving down SZR...or any road really. No complaints from the priori after 4 years.

All boils down to genetics I reckon. So Take a look at your mom. I hardly used anything with my 2. Couldn't find something that's smell didn't make me hurl. Used a bit of Palmers coco butter and the oil, Clarins body oil and an almond L'occitane oil. But not religiously so I can't say whether they worked or not.

So have I just been really unlucky then? I recall once taking on of my charges (when I was a nanny) to a music group. There was a woman who's little girl was quite a big girl. The one week she missed the lesson, all the mums (including her 2 "bff's") made fat jokes at her little girls expense. And I've seen and heard a fair share of it since becoming a mum too. Bitching and mumupmanship galore. Anyway, didn't mean to sound like such a killjoy/sour puss... There ARE lovely ladies out there.

No but I am interested to hear feedback. We watched his latest DVD and found it quite rubbish. He's not what he used to be...and his racial jokes were way below the belt - I'm no prude or PC bridage, but it wasn't nice. And not even funny. Hope it's a good night out for those going.

I have Sue, yes. Just been emailing more Vets as I've learned that the microchip is only useful if the cat is taken to the vets he was registered at. Do u know where I may find a list of all vets in Dubai. Might speed things up. Had a call from a kind lady in Alma, she's seen a Ginger kitten wearing a collar (which Leo wasn't) around. Will just double check. Someone may have popped one on him... You never know. So will check that out when she let's me know he's in the area again. Posters at Spinneys & Le Marche. Walked the streets sticking flyers under windscreens and doors. Stopped all maids, garderners. Spoken to and annoyed security. Posters last 10 seconds. Will wait till Friday, they may last slightly longer ;-)

Have you heard of baby led weaning (BLW)? There's is loads on info on the net and some groups of FB. Read up on it and see what you think. Just thought I'd throw it into the mix. I've followed it with my second and I've found it fantastic. yup, but BLW really isn't suitable for early weaners - they haven't got the physical control. I did do a kind of free-form version of BLW, but my two only got to that stage at around the 6 month mark (DD started solids at 4 months, DS at 5.5), where they actually demanded chunky bits and refused purées. Even I would say to wait until 6 months if you want to do full-on BLW (but imo, the term "BLW" is too prescriptive... any weaning should be baby led, and being baby-led, it doesn't have to only involve chunky finger-food. You look at nature and so many animal mothers pre-process their babies' food to make it more digestible) Given that the OP's bub is sitting unaided and rolling around, I think it would be worth a whirl. I did a bit of both (and still do) with DS. He eats much more when he's feeding himself and in control, so it's worked for us from day one at 5 months.

You know what... Our garderner does the same. He has a habit of knocking my door when I'm busy with something. I was ready to chew his head off. Then This Friday, I was out there at midday for 2 hours, distributing flyers for my lost cat, and ran out of water... Man, it was tough. But it made me think twice about getting upset with the garderner in the future. As for denying him rehydration, anyone who did that is just plain cruel. Wrong. Period.

What's TMS? Hopefully not Thames Packing - we used them in June and they were great. Very negotiable on price, able to do the job at ridiculously short notice and great on the day. No. Total Moving Solution and Storage. Don't. Touch. Them!

AED150 for two drinks?!?! Guess it gets crossed off the "things to do in Dubai" list for me then... Rip off! I have to say, in the 9 years I've been here, I've never once wanted to go to the Burj and don't feel cheated that I haven't or that I've missed out. I love the Burj from the outside. I think it's an amazing building...but to pay those crazy prices to go inside, hmm... Not sure. Have never heard people rave about the food and it looks kitch inside...the view might tempt me I guess. Don't mean to sound like a killjoy and I'm no tight-ar$e either, guess I'm just not one of these "I have to go there to say I've done it" people. hmmm... No, I don't. But living in Dubai it's something I've learned to put up with. Lol Or like me, don't like being ripped off!! ;)

This is happening more often these days. Not great when groceries are expensive enough as it is. I'm terrible though, never check... Partly cos I've always got screaming children with me and partly because my maths is so sh1te it'd take me an age. Lol
