I'd imagine (trying REALY hard not to picture it) that with all the goings on whilst having the treatment has caused some trapped gas and it's just working its way through the system. Makes sense to me. But what do i know...

LOL Blueskies...could you see if they were wearing underware or not though? hehehe... The mosque on 15st at the Pink Mall is REEEEEALY loud. Oh Pink Mall is fab...great Fish n chips, Oregano's delish pizza, best rottisery chickens at the little cafe/resturant right next to the mosque!

HUGE congrats! That's excellent news. All the very best. Remember, every pregnancy is different. No two are the same, so try not compare them and get yourself worried for nothing.

Shaks you'll be fine. And yes, they change runways and also landing/take off directions. But no doubt you'll hear the noise outside and will probably have some "Mirdif moments" where you stop talking and continue once the plane has gone over. Haha I remember those, the break in conversations, then just carry on. All our non-Mirdif resident guests love it;-)

Ok, have I been living under a rock? What and where is this Lakelands you speak of? Actually, maybe its best you don't tell me!!! :D it's in MCC Shellly. Just up from where I bumped into you there the last time ;-) it's heaven. All kitchen and household goods and gadgets. Just divine. Don't tell DH I told you about it.

So, I made the fatal mistake of wandering into Lakelands this arvo. I managed to contain myself and only get a few goodies ;-) I was very tempted by a gadget called a "fat magnet". You basically run it over the top of your stews, soup, curries...and it attracts all (or at least some) of the fat. Has anyone got one of these? Do they work? Or will it just be another gadget to fill the cupboards with? Someone please make my day and tell me it's your most loved kitchen gadget ;-) edited by KellsBells on 27/03/2011 I've never seen one of those, but it reminds me of a jug I once bought which was supposed to separate fat from meat juice after cooking a roast. I could never get it to work properly, the fat still mingled with the juice, unless I left it in the fridge for overnight, which I thought was defeating the object if you wanted to make gravy to go with the roast you'd just cooked! Lakeland, ah, my idea of a heavenly afternoon. Can never get out of there without having spent a fortune, though, so restrict myself to going there once every three months or so! Ahh...yes, my mum had the jug and never quite got it to work. She also had a souplike spoon te was supposed to do the same thing but not sure it ever worked. Oh I'm terrible in there too. It's a real "kid in a candy store" experience for me. LOVE it!!! DS managed to find a few things he "had to have" too, so I blamed half my purchases on him ;-)

Which street. If it's the first u turn at the bakery...you'll get some noise. But it's really not bad. The mosque is louder...but we loved it so never complained (infact we miss it). Second u turn and first right...that block is quite quiet. Hope I've made sense.

Hi KellsBells, I am a UK 5/6 or Birkenstock 39 and only have 1 pair in gold. I wear a lot of blue dresses and would love a blue pair. I could give yours a good home. Please call me on 050 1041286. Thanks. I tried texting you as it was early in the am and I'm not sure whether you'd be having a lie-in or not... Did you get my text?

Anther vote for EBN! DS very happy there. Was not happy with Small Steps when we viewed it. There is a new one opening in Sharooq - Kids Cottage...might be worth checking them out as i know EBN is busy busy busy and may not have a space (which is what i think sandfly may have been talking about)

With my first, at Welcare (emergency section) DS was taken away and I had to beg to see him. After nearly 2 hours I got to hold him. Second time Around I stood my ground (but didn't really have to as I had Dr Elsa and a wonderful doula who knew I wanted my baby asap) and had my little boy delivered straight onto my chest. They did the checks while he was Lyon on me. Stand your ground. Make sure it's in your birth plan and remind the nurses/midwife/dr's who see you throughout the labour. Or better yet, make sure DH reminds them constantly.

I bought a pair 2 years ago and just couldn't get on with them. The cheaper versions were great but the actual Birkies just weren't comfy. They never hurt me, just not comfy. Anyway, they're still sitting in my shoe cupboard... If any of you Birki fans would like them, just shout. They've seriously been worn 3/4 times. They're aquamariney-blue I'm a UK 5/6... If anyone interested I'll check the size ;-)

If I was closer I would definately offer to come help you. It does seem very scary at first, but seriously...these tiny ones are quite hardy ;-) You could, as another poster suggested, wait for your husband to help. Otherwise, why not just fill a small bowl up with water and top and tail baby for the time being?

DS was exactly the same. He has only just, in the last week, started to enjoy the baby rice with a tiny bit of fruit in it. The first 2 weeks he pretty much spat it all back out. As he's still 5 months I'm taking it really slowly. Like you, we'll be travelling so I thought i'd ease him into it at a slow pace. They are at the exploration stage, so don't stress too much. Just offer little bits and slowly and don't stress if none stays down. You could also read into Baby Lead Weaning. I've just read it and found it interesting how many mothers found their babies loved food once they were given the lead. With DS, he's not interested at all. Everything lands up on the floor. So I'm spoonfeeding for now but hope to switch to BLW at a later stage.

I'm jealous of multi-lingual people! Sounds weird :p Oh me too!!! I'm also jealous of woman with firm b00bs :-( As my gynae once said to me, at least with protuberances like yours (ie saggy and fat), it's easy to find any lumps :( Wahahaha... Still, I'd rather pert firm ones thank you.

I think I'm the friend meals is refering to ;-) Yes, I was going to use Kiddiecare and S n S. You can check the price on the Kiddiecare website an the shop n ship was going to cost just under 900 dhs. In the end I got one off Dubizzle. It was in fab condition and got it at a really great price. So I'm happy. There was another one available a few weeks back that was in great condition-but it was 1000dhs more then I paid. If u want to go the Kiddiecare route, let me know and I'm happy for you to use my shop n ship account if u don't have one.

It wasn't the usual Draino stuff though, I'm sure it had instructions for use on toilets...eek, I sure hope so. But yes, I'm sure Pepsi would work the same way. Did u have any luck OP? Or are you holding it all in till you hit the mall/gym/work this am? Hehehehe...

Aww EmmaH, I know the feeling, all us mums do. You are so excited to meet your little one and soooo uncomfortable by now. From about the 37 week mark I just wanted so badly for my baby to hurry up and make her grand entrance but it wasn't to be. She was born at 1 day after my due date. I have been so thankful every single day since that she was not born before my due date. Not that there is anything wrong with the bubs that are (of course not) but I really think that its something kind of wonderful for a baby to stay inside the womb and come when he/she is ready, even if that means going past the due date. So long as the baby going past the due date isn't affecting yours or the baby's health then feel very blessed that your baby has stayed inside your womb for the full duration of your pregnancy. Good luck and cherish EVERY second BEFORE the baby's birth, and after! Before you know it you'll be planning his/her 1st birthday party! :D Lovely post Shellly. You're right..."technicalities" aside, we all get anxious towards the end, or at least I did, and I'd say it's pretty normal. You could look into getting Accupuncture done. Dr Ou is great and comess highly reccommended. It could help move things along... All the very best and enjoy this magical time...it goes by so fast.

There are western nanny's out here. I understood that you could sponsor someone as long as they were not the same nationality as yourself - and it would be as a governess, not a nanny. I used to work as a nanny here and have had quite a few people email me (they have obviously searched on here and come up with my details from about 6 years ago) asking me a few questions. A few of them had sponsored Canadian girls...nto sure if this has proved difficuly now the Canadian's need a visa to enter Dubai...? Sorry, I've just reread my post and realized it's not of much help...but my point is - there are people (westerners) doing it, so dont give up ;-)

well its the same four cats all the time. One I saw had a collar, the others don't. You do have to share the world with other creatures you know. edited by Chocs01 on 19/03/2011 Agreed! And I'd rather share my world with these four legged creatures then rats :-(

I'm the nightmare one in our house always awake at 5.30 every day!!!!! I get excited when one of the kids wakes up cos I've got someone to talk to!!!!! Luckily for me my little boy always wakes early and we have a lovely chat in the mornings we leave daddy and little girl to carry on sleeping as they both seem to have our share of the sleep gene! You're welcome to come round at the crack of sparrows and keep my lot entertained. They seem to both have inherited their fathers ability to get by on minimal sleep :-(

I'm here. And would rather be in bed too :-( DH was up at 4:30 for work today...so I don't envy him, but it doesn't make being dragged out of bed by the little ankle-biters any easier. Weekend plans??? Well, other then being driven mental by my DS who has a serious case of verbal diarrhea, I plan to potter today and hopefully have our bestties round and then tomorrow meet up with some other friends. So a very relaxing weekend. But I know that will all change and it will end up a chaotic one ;-)

Did a quick google and it seems most people say it's ok, and do use them again but to just replace the teats. So maybe I was a bit OTT but LO 1's bottles were well loved and I used the Dr Browns bottles which have many plastic compartements...so I'm still glad I replaced them.

Nope. Bottles don't cost the earth and there is so much uncertainty re plastic bottles anyway, that I didn't think it was worth it. Even though I use the BPA free ones, you still never know.

I will try to apply ur sugestions on dh. Now I have a totally new power for this and hope will work for us. It is bit difficult with dd cause she is breastfed and didn't see exept my face till now ;) Well in that case...plan to make him a lovely romantic dinner at home one night. Tell him the dress code is formal. Get all dressed up as though you were going out for dinner. OH and dont cook...order a take out so you can both chill out and not have to worry about cooking or loads of mess/dishes in the kitchen and maximise your time together. Nice idea. I will do that this evening. Hope he doesnt get suspicious at my new behavior ;) Imagine! No need for him to be suspicious. He knows you've been feeling a bit neglected of late... So tell him you feel you may also have overlooked his needs as you have been so caught up with caring for your DD, and you're doing something about it.

With the madela pumps you can buy all the parts seperate so why not sell it. I often see them advertised on dubizzle. Baby shop sells all the madela parts. Nutty, mines the Avent Isis, which I think you can buy spare parts to, too. Will have a look, may just stick it on Dubizzle. I was thinking about it and had I known how little i was going to use my pump, I would have happliy saved some AED and bought a second hand one. And like I say, mine has hardly been used and has been in it's box most of the time...so it would be a great buy for someone, i think.
