I'd be resheduling my flight if I were you. It's not just your DD's chest, the flying could effect her ears too. I honestly think you should hold off for a few days and get her a bit stronger. Are you nebulizing her with saline? Or did the doc prescribe something else? Poop little dear. Hope she's better soon and I hope you escape it. We have all had it recently, and it was not pleasant. Probably why I'm so anti the idea of putting her on a plane. I felt like absolute poo, if someone had dragged me onto a flight I would have hated it.

Our type B Palmera unit will be available from 6th July. Officially it's 2 bed plus study but we use the study as a 3rd bedroom as it has two sets of windows and is the perfect size for a young child. It's in a good location opposite the pool and park and with an open outlook. Let me know if you're interested and I'll put up contact details. We're looking for a 3 bed plus maids, but thanks. Sounds fab...would love one close to the park and pool.

Are you travelling alone with the two children? If you're gonna check it in I would defo say get it cling wrapped. What I did was let DS pack some snacks and toys in it (keep it light) had other DS in pushchair and pulled DS along on trunki. It worked well and when he was sick of it. I put the strap round the pushchair handle and it just pulled along. It will be tricky and as you say, ANOTHER thing to carry at some stage if DD gets bored. Your DD is quite tall too isn't she? DS complained at one stage that his legs were sore-just warning. I'm not helping you much here am I? ;-)

Oh dear. It'll be fine and germ free ;) Ours was very bleach happy too. So I stopped buying it and we now use Tea tree oil instead. She knows it's more expensive (thinks I'm nuts) so she only uses a few drops at a time.

You can. But it may come out the other end looking a little different. They are not very careful with anything and you may had a very sad DD if he trunki comes out on the other end looking a bit bashed. DS loves his, and I was skeptical at first too ;-)

3 years ago we took DS there with possible Meningitis, after 4 hours they decided to just admit him so he could be delt with on the ward. Not very nice when you have a sick baby to just be left waiting. Very scary indeed. Our experience in the ward wasn't much better and I believe it's only gotten worse since. It's a genuine fear of mine about living here...I just don't trust these hospitals. Think i'll be headingto Al Wasl in the future. City have been ok 3 times out of 4 but I think I'd rather go straight to Al Wasl.

I love mine and it's not a DX. It does everything I need it to. Mines registered as a UK one, so not sure about Oz selection. Try googling and browsing all the e-book shops maybe? They are fab gadgets, you won't look back.

Another lover of Soneva. But it probably would be my first choice with a baby in tow. As a family, I really loved Bandos. Not as luxury as I would have liked but it was fantastic and incredibly accommodating for little ones. And a very short speed boat away from Male. Which is great with little ones and reassuring should you (touch wood) need any medical attention.

Hmmm...that's what I was hoping. DS has the other pair on and so far, so good. Which is a huge relief as he's never worn anything else but crocs ;-) May get my MIL to take the others back for a bigger size for when he's older then.

I never said she was being attacked, but I do feel she was being unfairly judged. Anyway, I'm not going to argue over it. Yes each to their own and everyone has a right to their opinion. I just don't get why people feel the need to kick people when they are clearly down. Guess there will always be the Beige Trouser Brigade on every thread.

Wow, I can't believe some of the replies on this thread. I'm not going to read them all as I fear I may end up with smoke coming out my ears. For what it's worth, I know Moo Moo and I know that since she arrived in Dubai, she has done everything she could for these animals who were either going to be put down, die out on the streets or end up abused. She has opene up her home, let them wreck her sofa's (lol) and spent a small fortune in vets bills and on feeding them. Not to mention the sleepless nights when the cats decided to go walkabout :-) Moo Moo has given them all she can and because of her they all know what it's like to be loved and taken care of. Something very special that not every person is able to do and certainly not every animal in Dubai gets to experience. Of course given the choice she would return home with her whole brood, but unfortunately that's not possible and how dare anyone judge her without knowing the full story. She is now doing the best she can to give these animals another chance at a loving home. NOT abandoning them on the streets like we see so many others doing. Moo Moo, I speak on behalf of the animal community in Dubai... Thank you. Thank you for opening up your home and your heart and giving us a chance.

Some great advice but just wanted to add...my LO found a bath very soothing. I'd get in with him and lie him on my chest in a nice warm deep bath. Some days he had about 4 baths ;-) I also used something called Telement drops, I still have some if you are near me in Mirdif, you're welcome to try them. Keep an eye on your diet too. With DS 1 I had to give up cows milk, garlic and coke. DS 2 it was garlic and anything tomatoey! If u have a sling, carry bub in a sling. Was a godsend for me. If you don't have one, get one...hehehe.... Or again, you're welcome to borrow mine.

I think it is at this stage that GF introduces the "Core night method" providing your LO is gaining regular, sufficient amounts (180-240g per week). The core method is basically trying other methods of getting them back to sleep after the 10:30pm feed, before giving them another feed.

Happy Birthday, Ladies, hope the day improves for both of you. Out of curiosity, KB, did your husband completely forget it was your birthday, or just not get you any tokens to mark it? Oh he hadn't forgotten! According to him he just didn't have the time. Nevermind the fact that he's known for a whole year and just been on a trip and had hours in duty free. Hmmm...not impressed. Both my DS's and I have been quite poorly and still feel cr@ppy, so honestly, I was going to write today off anyway, so I don't know why I'm so upset?! Just a card would have been nice though:-( Anyway, I've just had 2 strong cold/flu tablets and I've left him downstairs with the boys. I'm off for a nice long soak in the bath.

It's doing the rounds in our house too. DS has had temps of between 38 and 39.7 for 5 days. Some days it took a voltaren supository to bring it down. He also came out in hives all over. Poor boy. The temp has calmed but he's still got a Nasty cough and a runny nose. Other DS and I have got it now too...not the temp though.

I hear you hunny. Today's my birthday. I was the first awake, with DS. When DH and other DS finally woke at 8:30... I got no card, no gift, no nothing :-( I'm trying not to be ungreatful cos Dh spoils me so much and would always et me anything I want if we can afford it, but the fact that he has put zero effort in has left me feeling very sad. So, Happy Birthday for tomorrow chook, you're not alone ;-)

Have just come back. They had a better selection of baby foods there then they do here in Dubai. They had the South African brand, Purity. Heinz and a few other French brands. Formula, they had all the Nans. This was in a SuperU in Grand Baie. Store 2000 has less selection, but it would do. Please have a swim on Mon Choissy beach for me.... I'm having serious withdrawls!!!!!! Enjoy your holiday! Oh and I'd assume Emirates would be the ones to contact but as it's a codeshare, I'm sure either would do it. Don't delay though, it's a populr route for families. We nearly never got one.

Moo moo, DH wishes... Actually, so do I. Just an hour of piece and quiet ;-) but I don't think my boys could read the disturb sign...right, off to teach some basic Reading skills ;-)

I had Dr Elsa and cannot speak highly enough of her. But she's very busy so I doubt you'd get in with her at this stage. I would strongly recommend a Doula. I had a lovely doula. Who was the glue that kept it all together on the day. Search for Delighted on EW, she is wonderful. Al Wasl were too C section happy when I had my first DS there 3 years ago. Would not recommen them. And they do not allow Doulas either. All the best.

Come and embrace your new beggining with just that, new beginnings. Whatever you leave behind can be replaced. And whatever you can't replace...you'll look forward to having/seeing when you return to your home country for a visit. Making it all the more exciting. I find sometimes people try to keep everything so the same as their lives back home that they fail to discover Dubai's little gems. Not having a dig at you OP. Of course we want to be prepared and have our comforts. Just saying ;-)

We watched it on sky news. Found the sound and picture a lot clearer. Don't know if it's due to the HD though. We flipped over a few times and BBC didn't seem to be half as informative. Now it's E! All the way as they scrutinise (sp) all the outfits;-)

The closest I've gotten to a Brit passport is when I've picked up DH's by mistake. And that's the closest I'm going to -- or WANT to -- get. Proud to be an Aussie. :) Have no desire whatsoever to visit Australia. Would love to see New Zealand though. I find this comment very nasty and unecessary. I haven't read the rest of this thread and I don't think I'm going to after these "country-upmanship" style replies. What a shame this thread turned. I was thinking yesterday how lowly it was to "share" the wedding with other EW'er as we were posting as things were progressing.
