Kates face as she walked out on to the balcony and said, "oh wow!" Bawling again in the Bells household. Even DH welled up at one stage.

Charles looks really old to me today. Exactly what we just said. He doesn't look "healthy". charles and Camilla looked a little confused when they got out of the car too! Yes, looked like he was buying time taking his gloves off!

We have the Priori Fix. Which is excellent as the isofix gives it a secure fix. It is however very heavy and the isofi bar on the floor makes it a bit tougher for LO's go climb in the chair on their own when they are a bit bigger. We also have the priori which we bought for travelling and it's great too. And infact we have had our priori fix in the cupboard for some time now as Its easier without the bar taking up floor space. And I feel DS is just as safe in it. We will be using the priori fix again when DS2 turns 1. Hope I haven't confused you.

DH has a C 7 that he's really happy with. But then I'd say it's more like an iPhone... With a touch screen and keypad.

Besides Yankee Candles and an air diffuser. I like to add a few drops of tea tree oil to the bucket of water used for mopping the floors. Although with the constant poo'ey nappies in this house- it never smells fresh ;-)

Anyone in Mirdif and the surrounding areas still thinking what to have for dinner tonight... Go for Fish N chips. DH has just come home with ours and it is delish! Seriously the best it's ever been. The last time we had it was iffy... But tonight? Yummo. Right... Back to my meal ;-)

We've only flown from Abu D once. But what we did was hire a car. No penalties for dropping it off at a different airport to pick up and it wasn't expensive at all. Best, most convienient option and cheaper then paying to park your car there for sure.

I thought the thread title was a bit harsh, until I read the post that is ;-) What a sad sad woman. I hope her child grows up to be nothing like her. Though with those sort of examples to follow, sadly, the chances are slim.

I had a fantastic VBAC under Dr Elsa. She is fantastic and was very pro VBAC. Have heard many success stories from other ladies who went to her. If you can get in with her, you will e in the best hands possible.

Are there any areas in The Villa that are more complete/established then others? Are there any community pools open or near completion? Sorry for all the questions, going to try get over there tomorrow arvo for a look around so I can hopefully do the homework myself, but until then-I'm relying on you wondeful ladies.

DS 1 was in with us (mixed co sleeping and sleeping in a moses basket beside the bed) for 6 months. He had bad reflux so I wanted him nearby. We loved it. Moved him out at 6 months but after travelling and having guests which meant sharing a room - he got so used to it and at 3 years he is STILL in with us ;-) We love it! DS2 was in a basket beside the bed until 3 months. He much prefers being on his own in his own room. Each baby is different and so is every parent. Do what you feel works for you as a family...obviously taking safety precautions into account.

Thanks Claire. That sounds better then I thought. The Villa is looking like a great option right now. Off to search previous Villa threads ;-) I have no idea where the al Waha villas are... Well I do, but I wouldn't know how to get there :-p Will check my mail now, sorry I haven't made contact, it's been a busy week here and I'm sure it has for you too, with school holidays and Easter. edited by KellsBells on 24/04/2011

Best is to follow signs for Cinema parking and park on parking level 7. If you're coming from Business bay I can give exact directions, but from SZR I'm not 100% sure.

Thanks AdviceSeeker. Those prices seem far better value for money. Had a look on Dubizzle last night. Printed off some floor plans and the Cordoba Villas seem to have a lovely, practical layout-better then what we saw at Ranches. Just really loved the idea or the Ranches, being so close to the school. What would a journey from The Villa to AR be like? Are there any backroads? Or would it be Al Ain rd, onto Emirates rd an up to the big interchange?

KB, sorry must have missed the Emicool stories - we are in GC MC with no issues. I know there were Emicool issues in Green Community Dubai Investment Park. The service we have had has been good so far. Hope you find your perfect place! Sorry, I should have elaborated... I have heard from a few people living in GC motorcity that their emicool bills are really steep. Read some stuff on the GC forum about it too.

Kells Bells we wanted to move to the Ranches but what put us off was the driving - getting stuck behind someone on the phone and all those humps.... Have you looked at the Victory Heights villas or those in Green Community Motor city? Both lovely and new, still with maintenance contracts and very pretty neighbourhoods; less traffic and more peaceful than the Ranches and better access than Falcon City. Don't listen to the agents, we just looked and forwarded our lease end time if agents asked; we, like you wanted to know what was out there so that if one we liked came up we could snap it up! ;) Hmmm...never thought about that one...thanks ;-) Not too keen on VH. Really like Green Community but we have been put off by the stories about Emicool? Otherwise it would be our top choice.

Yes, there are different types of Saheels. I think the one next door to us is a type 9. It has a family area adjacent to the kitchen, then a larger lounge area and a dining area. It has a master with ensuite and the 2 other bedroom share a bathroom. It has quite a large upstairs landing. Definitely big enough for another sofa and TV or kids toys. We use our upstairs area as a study. Aaahh...thanks for that. The one we viewed had a tiny landing...enough for a pot plant;-) Think We just didnt view enough properties...but like I said, agents werent keen when they heard we only wanted to move at the end of July. But I may just be trying BrownEyedGirls approach next ;-)

Plum2, you had me sold once "babysitters" were mentioned ;-) Will check it out, thanks...but I'd suppose this would be one of those "gems" that will be snapped up in no time. Thanks for the advice BEG, I may just do that. Yes, shocking that the LL's care so little and the owners think they can sell a villa falling to pieces for 2.5mil! And even more shocking that agents let you view it in these terrible states and then still tell you, "you'll love this next property!" lol

Wow Shaks, that's a big step. Bet you're excited? You'll love Mirdif. HelsBells1, our budget is flexible. We'd like to stick to around 170/175. We looked at a Saheel. Would you mind telling me, are there different types within the Saheel villas? The one we looked at had no real space for a dinning table downstairs...and are there any that have a family room upstairs? Appletiser, we were just a little shocked that these places were still holding their prices eventhough they were in quite a sad state...not sure why we were shocked, we had this image in our heads of the Ranches I guess, and these places were nothing like it. NOT saying there arent great places in the Ranches, those gems ;-) And like Shaks said, in July we may have far more choice.

Lucy, after reading your previous thread... I have to say, I wouldn't bother with the hassle and expense of nanny cams. You can't and should have to go on living like this. Send this woman back to the agency and get someone else. I've had two similar incidents with our maid, next one and she's out... I'd eater loose the money she's cost us so far then continue living like this. Good luck.

It cost not much less then the quote from the VW dealer and two weeks later had to be taken to the VW dealer anyway as the problem (leak in AC) had not been repaired properly. They also couldn't fix the problem we had with the front passenger seat.

They are saying she is stressed and hs lost weight. That's not what happens when I am stressed! Where's that eating popcorn smilie????? ;) I normally stuff my face when stressed, but for a week before my wedding I could hardly touch a thing - which i SO not like me. And I only had 100 guests (all close friends and family) watching me - NOT the millions poor Kate's gonna have.

Delighted's details can be found on the Doulas of Dubai website under, Joyce Milne. Think she's travelling at the moment, but send her an email with your questions and I'm sure she'll get back to you. She is just GREAT! My DH was very skeptical about having someone else around on D-day, but after meeting Joyce, he was so relaxed and after the actual day, he (like myself) was blown away by the amazing part she played in it all. His testimonial is on the website ;-)

I had a birth plan, delivered with Dr Elsa at City Hospital and eventhough Elsa said not to worry about a birth plan...she did read mine and followed it where she could. When she went against what was written (episiotomy) she explained her reasons before hand and kept reassuring me. I also had a wonderful doula (Delighted from EW) who I cannot reccommend highly enough. And from reading you post, she sounds like she has the kind of personality you'll need on the day. All the best.
