Still got a license from home. assuming that UAE license will not be valid. Hoping it will just be revalid when my visa is sorted, if you get what i mean? I dont usually stress but am feeling stressed over this. we cant find our marriage certificate :( Do you want the international license just because of visa cancellation? I can only find an old link now, but I read again recently that UAE license remains valid. Old links: http://gulfnews.com/news/gulf/uae/traffic-transport/driving-licence-valid-after-visa-cancellation-1.46179 ; http://www.dubaifaqs.com/driving-licence-in-dubai.php

We also got it from Automobile and Touring Office near Al Mamzar Beach/close to Century shopping mall. Took about 10 min incl. waiting. They required passport, photo and Dubai license.

If anyone travels to or near Ceshire and doesn't want to carry everything by plane, I can recommend Jeanette: http://www.cheshirebabyhire.co.uk/ New or good as new equipment and great service (she even brings a supply of nappies and formula if required).

Just travelled with Quinny Buzz plus carry cot. Didn't find a proper travel bag (one that looks as if it protects the pram, not just a cover), so wrapped the wheel part in bubble wrap, then in heavy duty garbage bag and then had it plastic wrapped at airport. The carry cot went in its original cardboard box plus plastic wrap at airport. The carry cot arrived in perfect condition, the wheel part had the airport plastic wrap torn at some places, but still protected by bubble wrap. Both didn't count on luggage allowance (Emirates). I have also the Maclaren Techno (after recommendations from EW :) ), and have to say, although thrown without any cover in the hold, it arrived a bit dusty but otherwise in perfect condition.

Not sure if the latest replies are directed at me (OP) or stovetop, just want to say thank you for all replies; I bought a moby wrap meanwhile.

In case you still need another option: stayed at the Grand Hyatt, it's 2 km from city centre, and liked it.

I ordered these from bubsboutique http://www.bubsboutique.com/shop/baby-essentials/maternity/Tummy-Tie/ Found them however rather smallish, and the hair band solution worked for me just as well.

Has anyone seen this, or something similar at a store? http://www.dubaibabies.com/product/milk-powder-dispenser-bpa-free.aspx Yes, bought something very similar from babyshop, 10dhs. Don't know if it's bpa free, though.

Just flew out of DXB airport, with prepared formula and water, and nobody bat an eyelid. Also saw some glasses of hipp baby food in the plane galley. (Emirates)

Thank you ladies! Got the TT bottles, warmer and a flask... but can't find the formula carriers? Do you have a brand name or any other specifics? Babyshop in MCC had different kinds available.

Ps. But if you spring for a few more $$$ you can fly a better class on an airline like Qatar Airways and spend the day relaxing in the lounge. ;) Qatar Airways used to give special offers for visa run. Maybe worth to enquire if they still do this.

I just renew my annual WASEL, and according to a previous SMS I was supposed to get 25dhs credit, but when I check my balance I see no credit....Any ideas? It might take a day or 2 until you receive a sms saying you get free credit of ... dhs and how you can check it.

Stayed at both. Royal Beach has nice rooms but compound is very small, food was disappointing and beach is stony and only accessible with shoes which are provided by the hotel. Hilton inside Fujeirah City has very peaceful atmosphere, great service, small but tidy beach with black sand and and very nice food. Pool small but bigger than Royal Beach. Rooms in Hilton were clean but don't know how the chalets are. If you go with kids and Sandy Beach is booked, try JAL. Didn't stay there but heard only good things. ETA What about Miramar? It's next to Sandy Beach and has a nice beach and pool. edited by Kermi on 24/03/2011

stovetop, you can get motilium over the counter. 30 tablets around 24 dhs. I've been told 2 tablets every 6 hours. But I'd recommend to consult a lactation consultant first before you start any medication. If you check out the link guinness posted, it's also said there that domperidone (that's what motilium is) should not be used until other causes are ruled out. Either visit the lactation consultant at the clinic you delivered at, or you could have someone coming to your house. Did you have a doula? They would be able to recommend a person. I can also recommend the BF helpline, Sian was a big support. If you don't mind to travel a bit, there's a BF clinic in Sharjah as well. Contact details are here: http://www.expatwoman.com/forum/messages.aspx?TopicID=114076&Page=1 (SianK's post.) All the best! edited by Kermi on 18/03/2011

Not sure if you mean those, but I saw some rubber beach sandals at Mothercare Lamcy, this simple design that you see also for adults and that's on the market since ages. They were small sizes but don't remember the number, was a bit chaotic there as sales going on.

Just got an email from Just Kidding they are having a stand at MOE this weekend with 15% off of their carseats. Outside C4. But way cheaper if you can get someone to bring it from abroad i have mine arriving this weekend with the grandparents. Just check it in with the suitcases. Approx. how much difference in price to get it from abroad? In Dubai i think its around AED800/- to 1000/- range Check first with babyshop. They are cheaper normally. Limited colour range, though.

We bought a small steamer from hyperpanda, a sales offer. Basically for curtains and embroidered fabrics. But I find it pretty useless. Acc. to the manufacturer, you can use it also for glass cleaning, but it will take you hours. Guess it's better to invest in a proper sized one. (Ours has the size of these handy vacuum cleaners.)

Hiya yep contacted the seller and she didn't answer the phone, so sent her a txt message and no reply. I realise it's my fault for not checking it properly but it's so annoying. I have to throw it out now coz not sure if it hasn't been in an accident and wouldn't feel comfortable selling it on to someone else since I don't know the history. :( That seems as if seller knew the seat was not complete. Will stay away from dubizzle I think. When do you need the seat? If I find a pebble, you could have mine, 2 times used but LO doesn't sit comfortable in it.

I think Mines a pebble - black though, as it was the only colour available when we got it - used for one baby, the only thing "wrong" with it is a 4 cm cut in the fabric, that the airline did. Let me know if you are interested. You can email me on . Thanks. Added: Removed email. Pls let me know when I shall publish my email address again. edited by Kermi on 12/03/2011
