Have you tried looking at finding positions in Ad Agencies, PR Agencies etc, there seem to be an abundance? Also try looking for roles within Marketing Departments of large companies. I'm recruiting for a Comms specialist for my team at the moment, but I need someone with UAE contacts, so perhaps you should look at a more junior position within any of these businesses to gain some UAE experience first. As others have mentioned, Linked-In is a good place to start, Bayt.com is also a good one. Good Luck.

My mum and dad always bring us a supply of beef Space Raiders, Scampi Fries, Cheese Moments, Hendersons Relish and even pork scratchings. They've never been stopped. They're coming to visit again at Christmas so hoping they'll bring some more. I might ask them to bring some Christmas cake this time  [b'>Hendersons Relish [/b'> right now I think I would kill for a bottle of this. My last one ran out a few months ago and no oe had been to see us since  We've just started our last bottle so they'd better bring some more! Oooh, Golf widow. Wine gums, forgot all about them. I'd better start making a list! My Dad's coming over next week and bringing me my supply of Hendo's  Also, red Oxo and Haribo Tangfastics

Not quite in Dubai Marina, but just across SZR in JLT there's a french dentist practice called La Clinique ME in Saba Tower 1. I've used them and they seem pretty good and not too expensive either.

yea i know about it but bleaching is not make your skin permanently so its a best way to make your skin white. Skin bleaching is extremely harmful and hence has been banned in many countries. To echo Sarah Lou, why would you actively encourage people to bleach their skin?

The parking for Aquaventure is by Nasimi Beach entrance (right at first Roundabout), it is free parking and there are shuttle buses that take you to the entrance. Albeit, you could also drive to the entrance where the shuttle bus drops off (The Avenues entrance a couple of roundabouts down), and drop them off there, it is all well signposted.

If you want 'women's' shoes, Christian Louboutin, Jimmy Choo, Saint Laurent, Miu Miu, Tods start at a 34 that I know of. There are stores in MOE and Dubai Mall, or you can buy on-line from netaporter.com.

The size of the apartments are what tempted me. As far as the pools go, I'm not aware of any open at all and that is a big bugbear for me. You can purchase day beach passes to the Fairmont hotel, these are AED 200 in the week and AED 250 on the weekend, you can also purchase 3 month and annual, but to be honest, the cost of these far outweigh the cost of buying daily passes on the times I do go there. I have been quite a lot, but they change their policies constantly (quelle surprise) and now don't even give you water as part of the pass. I also looked into club membership at Riva Beach club in Shoreline, they offered an annual cost of AED11,000 for couples membership (which also has gym access included). They have a summer offer on at the moment that is AED 100 for the day (inc weekends) and this is redeemable against F&B, so quite a good deal. As for quality, smells etc, I certainly haven't noticed anything untoward, the facilities management seem to be quite good. HTH

Building One, scheduled for September opening. There are a few shops nearly ready to go, a surf shop, gelato and a coffee shop. If you are at the other end, you guys get the good restaurants and I know for sure that wagamummas (? spelling) and also little shakespeares will be going in. Finally some decent dining options! Oh, and if rumours are correct you should be able to get some "beverages" at your end. Yep other end. Mind you, on the 'beverages' front, we have Fairmont opposite, so not too much of a problem as it were ;)

We were in Boots at Ibn Battuta looking for some 'cheap' shower gel. An assistant started following us around trying to get us to buy a really expensive brand. After we politely declined (three times) she actually put it in our shopping basket! What the...?! I know they are extremely pushy here but how can that ever be acceptable? What the... Indeed. That's outrageous!!!!

Just be aware that it takes at least 1 week for the results of botox to be noticeable, so if you are getting married in 10 days, you may not see the result you want until after your wedding. I use Dr Imran Tahir at British Lasik Clinic and as Sarah has suggested, you should ideally go with a reconstructive surgeon, which Dr Imran is, who knows not to oversell you treatment you do not need and does not allow you to have the 'frozen' look, unless of course that's what you want. Again, like other reputable surgeons recommended on here, they are more expensive, but the trust I have in them makes this worth it.

I've always locked my doors here whether in or out, both at home and in the car, force of habit from living in the UK. I understand people's complacency to do it here, however, you should be aware, that if you were unfortunate that something did happen, your insurance would not cover you if there was no forced entry.

The hubby has had some nice items made at Royal Fashion. Prices not bad either considering where some of the stores are located. http://www.royalfashion.biz/contact-us.html Can second Royal Fashion, hubby's had a couple made with them at the JLT branch, was about 2,700 dhs each I think. If you want really high end, we've also used Logsdale of London in Al Quoz, but the price there was 8,000 dhs.

I recently went through the process of sponsoring my husband and have posted here: http://www.expatwoman.com/forum/topic225465-sponsoring-husband-and-daughter-for-residency-visa.aspx There are no nationality restrictions, salary plays a large part in it, and he will only get a 1 year visa. If he takes on a job at any point, he has to go on his company's visa. The rule here is a wife can work full time while on her husband's visa, but a husband cannot take a full time job on his wife's visa. I sponsor my husband and his visa is for 2 years. Hi Kezzler, Thats interesting, perhaps the 1 year visa for husbands is a new rule, since my daughter and I got a 3 year visa (my company is semi-government), yet my husband only got 1 year! Hi Sour, I only sponsored him a couple of months ago, so the 1 year thing must be very new if that's the case. I do know that when I was doing the process I had the option of 1 or 2 years. Who knows, could be just the usual case of depending who you got on the day and what side of bed they got out of.......... :nerd:

There's a link here: https://passportapplication.service.gov.uk/ips-olc/?backtoPage=https://passportapplication.service.gov.uk/ips-olc/gs10_01.form It's very easy, do the application on line, pay on line, then you send a copy of the application, along with photo's and your old passport directly to HM Passport office. DHL have a deal with HM Passport office and will send it for AED 200 (express service), it arrives there within 2 working days. The passport office will then send you your new passport back, followed by your old passport and the courier cost for return is included in the online payment. I did mine last month and it took 2 weeks from application to getting my new and old passport back. HTH.

I had mine 18 months ago at the Jetty Lounge at One & Only Royal Mirage. They offer drinks packages for set time periods, the wine and beer package for 2 hours was only 135 dhs per head, which I thought was really good. They also offer canapé packages, again at a reasonable price, albeit, they'd forgotten I'd ordered this and so that was a let down (obviously I made sure they didn't charge me for it). They set up your own little bar and server by your reserved area and it was perfect for a relaxed affair. HTH.

I really liked Imperium at Zabeel Saray. Food well worth eating and the atmosphere is buzzzing but not outrageous. It's indoor, and I believe it is the Jazz brunch which is the outdoor area, grill stations, and live music. There were not many children there. There are bars next door like Voda for after drinks. Not that I have been to many, but the One and Only brunch was by far my most favorite--except we went in July and it was dead! I didn't know the O&O did a brunch, which restaurant is it in? I'd love to hear more about that one. For the OP, The Ivy's a great brunch (in my humble opinion) and The Rib Room at Zabeel Saray have just started one which has a nice atmosphere.

They're made by Hairdreams and are fixed by using tapes. I was extremely pleased with them as they thickened up my fine hair and I loved the style until the hiccup. There's plenty on the internet about them. Slam in Al Quoz do the tape ones and I believe ( you will have to call) Roots in Barsha do too I had extensions for years but now it is long I rely heavily on pieces and clip ins :-) Good Luck Sorry to Hijack the thread, but SL, where do you get your clip-ins from? Thanks very much. I bought them from the UK as they were really cheap. I believe some of the salons here sell them ( Salon Ink, Pastels on Al Wasl) I also bought a pony tail, a clip in piece and a bun. I like to play around with styles and these are great. There is a lady here that does the halo which is easy to use and adds length and volume to hair. She is on FB and it is called divine distributors. A UK lady sells them edited by sarahlou123 on 24/03/2015 Okey dokey, thanks for letting me know.

For clothes & shoes I use www.netaporter.com and www.matchesfashion.com and can highly recommend them. Whilst delivery isn't free, it's not expensive either and they often have offers of free international delivery (both do at the moment). Items usually arrive 48 hours after the order is placed. Longest I've waited is 72 hours. HTH
