Hi Flames, not wanting to dampen yours (see what I did there), but unfortunately rents have risen a fair bit this year and I think you'll struggle to find a 3 bed near Knowledge Village for 85k. I've been helping out a few staff member of OH's who are just moving over and only yesterday compiled a list from the rent index of 1 bed apartments, this is what they are: Dubai Marina - 80k - 110k Jumeirah Lakes Towers - 70k - 90k JBR - 90k - 120k Tecom - 65k - 75k Business Bay - 70k - 90k Greens - 75k - 80k Down Town - 90k - 110k Bearing in mind you want 3 beds, the rent will be significantly higher than the above. Hope that helps you and Good Luck with your search.

a picture display easel? I've been given a beautifully framed picture as a gift, however, I don't want to put it on the wall and would like to put it on one of those artists easels for display. The picture and frame is quite heavy, so the easel will need to take a decent weight. Whilst some may recommend it as the best option, I really don't want to go to Dragonmart, so I'm hoping one of you helpful ladies will be able to make other suggestions? Many Thanks in advance.

Most large supermarkets (well I know Waitrose, Geant and Carrefour do) sell covers with foam, which fit to almost all ironing board sizes as they have a drawstring that allows you to pull the cover to fit. I've bought quite a few over the years and they're pretty reliable.

We are in cluster Q and upon asking our security guards he gave us the number for the company that take care of the maintenance and parking and they informed us that we only have to pay a one off 500 dirhams and we would get another key. Find out what company your building uses and they should be able to sort this for you. :) This just goes to show it depends on who you talk to. We're also in cluster Q and when we picked up our gate fob, enquired about getting another and they said that you cannot buy another fob, you have to buy another parking space to get an additional fob (at a cost of 5k for DMCC or more (8k I think) for another directly under our building). That being said, whenever I look out of our balcony down to the ground below (which is quite often as I smoke, sorry), there are always spare 'free' spaces dotted around in the sections that don't have barriers.

Nothing sinister, I'd read such rave reviews on here about them that I thought I must have one. But to be honest, I don't really cook the sorts of things it's purported to cook (I don't rate the recipe book it comes with), when I make chips or wedges, which isn't very often, I prefer the outcome of the oven. The only successful thing I found it worked well doing was chicken escalope and again, that's once in a blue moon, so it's a bit of a waste of money for me personally.

I bought one about 3 months ago and have barely used it and really probably won't either, so it just stands (and will continue to) on the kitchen side looking lonely. It's the black one and I'd be happy to sell it for a much reduced price. Better it gets the love it deserves, than clogging up my kitchen.

www.jcrew.com They have a huge selection in all kinds of colours and styles, incidentally called 'Perfect Tee' and I think they'll have exactly what you're looking for and more :-) They ship directly to here from the US, shipping cost is quite good, especially if you stock up and it usually takes less than a week from order to delivery, they use DHL. To be honest, for restaurants serving alcohol, it's business as usual, they'll just begin to serve the alcohol after 8pm (according to our local). It really depends on the type of food you're after as to somewhere 'different', really it's each to their own. Personally I can recommend The Rivington Grill @ Madinat (British), Indego @ Grosvenor House (Indian), Rhodes Twenty10 @ Le Royal Meridien (Steak), Wheelers @ DIFC (Seafood), The Ivy @ Emirates Towers (British), Pai Thai @ Al Qasr (Thai), Frankies @ Al Fattan Towers JBR (Italian - of a fashion). Have a look at timeoutdubai.com, this gives quite a comprehensive listing of restaurants. Have fun.

Another fan here. OH and I use ours all the time and we've had 2 staycations in the last 8 months at the Zabeel Saray using our points. You also get discount with it too at some places, so whilst you're earning points you can get money off too. You also benefit at Jumeirah events, such as their restaurant week and can use points for these.

Do you mean Logsdail of london, this is in Al Quoz (has 2 lions outside the doors)? If you do, I had a suit made for OH there, not cheap, 7500 dhs, however, the quality is very very high. That being said, it took 3 months and they also messed up and put the wrong lining in to that we had chosen. They did offer another suit for half price by way of apology, however, I didn't really want to have to spend another nearly 4k, so didn't take them up on their offer. They know their stuff, the quality as I said, is very high, but it does take a long time and make sure they write down the details of everything correctly.

I've had the 'Blu' one for over 3 years and no problems at all. Very easy, you just swap shower heads is all and change the 'ion' stuff every few months, Blu is a universal fitting I think. There's a Blu stall near Ikea in Festival City, or at Ibn Battuta.

Fantastic show - even the support did a fab routine...laughed til it hurt !! Glad I didn't take any notice of the people who have posted negatively, we couldn't fault anything... My teen said some of the stuff he'd seen before but we still laughed anyway and his opening routine about expat life in Dubai was hilarious... And he handled the hecklers brilliantly !! Hope he comes back - we'll be first in the queue :D Did you see one of the hecklers getting carried out just before the end of the show? She obviously started on the vino a little too early :) Yes!!! I didn't realise she was one of the hecklers though, just thought how very sad to get into that state at such an event (or anywhere for that matter). Ah well, show was fantastic though, thoroughly enjoyed it.

Pikachu I mentioned it is sharjah charity. Splinters, I don't want to go in arguments with you. I'm not usually one to get involved in posts that can get somewhat tetchy, however, I have to side with Splinters here and suggest that you Indimus, should perhaps word your requests a little more appreciatively, making it clear in your OP what it is you are requesting such items for. Please don't assume that everyone here has even looked at the charity pages, let alone know who you are (I for one didn't even know they or you existed and have posted before). Your initial response to Splinters was very condescending. JS. using 'dear' in this part of the world is polite and 'nice' rather then how a western person may use it in a condescending way. ;) I get ya and understand that, but I was meaning more the assumption that we (the royal we) should know who they are and to check previous posts. I admit, it did get my heckles up particularly with the further dismissive responses. I knew there was a reason I don't get involved. ;-)

Hello Ladies, I want to ship something directly to Dubai from GAP/Old Navy and am confused which address to give for shipping. Should it be my personal PO Box in Dubai or my apartment address? Please help. Thanks Hi Ellaar, I haven't shipped from Gap, but I do regularly ship from J Crew and I use a physical address (my work), not a PO Box. That's because they use DHL to ship and DHL prefer physical addresses I believe, so it may be worth checking who the carrier is with.

Balenciaga is a timeless classic, styles stay pretty much the same, but colours change for the seasons. The other ladies are right though, they are cheaper in the UK. I bought one here for 8500dhs a few months ago, but was in the UK recently and bought the same size and style and it was 1200 dhs cheaper. You can also get online at UK prices (albeit it will show the price in dhs - handy) from matchesfashion.com. I can thoroughly recommend netaporter as well, as LadyBee has recommended. Happy bag shopping.

[b'>AnneCoulter[/b'>, what are you talking about? We do not have a Non-Renewable Contract! LaLaLayla Posts 328 QUOTE 25/02/2013 20:37:53 Unfortunately, it does say: "Renewal of Contract is at the discretion of the landlord". And "The Contract is valid up to the end of the specified period after which date it is considered null and void". Looks like we're stuffed :-( All contracts say this whether renewable or non-renewable. If it is non-renewable this is stated as part of the heading/title of the contract I believe. Renewable contracts still have this clause written in it, but it's not applicable unless the specific contract is stated/titled as a non-renewable.

[b'>Huevos Rancheros[/b'>: olive oil 1 onion , finely chopped 1 red pepper , finely chopped 1 garlic clove , crushed ½ tsp dried oregano , or fresh 400g tin chopped tomatoes 2 eggs 1 red chilli finely chopped 1.Heat 1 tbsp oil in a large frying pan and add the onion, pepper, chilli, garlic and oregano. 2. Fry gently for about 5 minutes or until everything is soft then add the tomatoes and cook for a further 5 minutes. If the sauce looks dry, add a splash of water. 3. Season well and then make 4 hollows in the mixture, break an egg into each and cover the pan. 4. Cook for 5 minutes or until the eggs are set Admittedly, pinched from www.bbcgoodfood.com, I really like this website for recipe inspiration and they have loads of ideas for eggs.

Hello lovely ladies! Does anyone know if the contraceptive pill, Tri-Novum is available over the counter in Dubai? And if so, anywhere specific or is it widely available? I am currently not living in Dubai and our prescriptions here are £22 ( approx Dhs 110!) but I will be coming to Dubai in July so plan to stock up if it's available! Just trying to get organised... ;) Many, many thanks, CM I cannot get my preferred pill here in Dubai, so I order online from a UK Pharmacy website who deliver international, you can order 3 or 6 months supply. You just go in, register, do an on-line consultation, they have a Dr who checks and approves and then it's posted out to you Royal Mail registered. For me it is an absolute godsend. I have checked using my own account and they do stock Trinovum and the cost is £28.90 for 3 months and £32.80 for 6 months + postage (which is about £7 I think). Absolutely no problem with customs and it usually takes a week to arrive. The website is pharmadoctor.co.uk. HTH

Agree with Sarah Lou, scratches, dinks and dents are sadly inevitable here. I have a company car provided through a well known rental business and when I got my new car and gave the old one back, I had made sure I got it thoroughly machine polished, smart-repaired and in spick & span condition (so as not to be charged for damage). The chaps at handover said it was the best conditioned return car they'd ever had and that they don't bother about the dinks and dents on returns as they are a fact of life here.

and they (the restaurant) serve your tortillas in a container with a lid that keeps them nice and soft, does anyone know if any stores sell these (pref in a larger size - the container that is) in Dubai? When making fajitas at home, I've tried the wrapping in foil/soft tissue/cling film route, but they just don't seem to work and by the time we're onto to tortilla number three, they start to go hard - not good for rolling up. Gregg's and a British Fish and Chip shop, oh a proper British Curry. If you mean an Indian 'British' curry, Brick Lane in Al Barsha touts itself as a British Curry House. Set up and run by a scouser, food's pretty reminsicent of such a menu, albeit, I would recommend delivery/take-away only, the small dine-in area is a bit stark and has none of the requisite flock wallpaper, dodgy music and Tiger b**r that you would get in a Brit curry house. It has a website www.bricklanedubai.com, if you fancy a browse of the menu.
