you are welcome :) I dunno about the bible, I am a Muslim but I did have a bible shipped, I didn't get my stuff yet so I'm not sure. But what I mean is books that discuss religion, particularly Islam, or are offensive to Islam or the idea of a God. As for the hair products and other essentials I've found everything I've used in the US so far. Hope that helps

Hello, I just moved to Doha last week. Got lots of books with me and had no problem, as long as your books are not related to religion or of a pornographic nature you should be fine. Where are you moving from and what kind of things are you worried about not finding here? edited by khokha2 on 17/08/2014

I know, exactly, so it seems our husbands will be able to wear shorts. LOL :) Thank you for the input. Khokha2 - We're a Muslim family moving in 2-3 months from Toronto, Canada. I am not aware of shorts being a problem either unless visiting a mosque.

I'm moving to Qatar in a couple of months so my answer might not be that accurate, but I'm guessing yes. We lived in Saudi, the strictest of them all, for two years and my husband wore the type of shorts you are referring to all the time. BTW, I am a Muslim, and even in our religion shorts that go below the knee are fine. That's my humble, not very educated opinion, but let's see what the ladies who actually live(d) there say :)

Well, we have applied to 3 or 4 different schools. By bad, I mean teachers who are locally hired, no teaching skills, no people skills... yes, that was the case in KSA because my husband's employer was so cheap! We are so glad to be working with an employer who is fully covering our kids' tuition. On a different note, there is a big possibilities that they are giving us a villa in Barzan 2 compound. Do you ladies know anything about it? Thanks for all your help and feedback...

Thank you ladies! I don't think that the residency restriction applies because they are working on all of our visas. We will all move in August because that's when my husband starts his job. Lalala, what school was that? Luton, I will definitely look into that school! And I am fully aware of the difference in schools between Qatar (and the Middle East in general) and the US, but I don't want them to end up in a bad school.
