Unfortunately I used Global and I was very happy with the agent and liked and trusted her. Whilst I couldn't fault the service prior to shipping, in Dubai, the whole experience in the UK was very badly handled and Dubai washed their hands off it when we appealed for them to intervene and provide us with assistance. EuroUSA shipping are Global's UK partner. Check the internet for reviews about them, I wish I had done my homework more thoroughly. I only checked for Global reviews. In terms of cost I paid just under 18k for 20ft container to UK and it was fully packed. However GAC were cheaper and Allied just over that mark. I felt reassured about Global after checking the internet reviews and this site but I wouldn't use them ever again. They laid on extra charges that were hidden in small print and unfairly applied. There was no valid explanation for the charges and our communication proved we shouldn't have paid extra but they held us to ransom and refused to release our shipment in the UK unless we paid up. That was the most dissapointing aspect of this whole experience with them. I complained bitterly but they failed to respond to my calls and I was getting fed up with the top management at both ends brushing off our queries surrounding the charges. They sent 1 response in the end in which they supported their charges without even bothering to contact us the customer. In the end the cost was a lot more moving with Global than if I had gone with someone else. My friends just used Allied and they have been very very happy but the stuff has yet to arrive in the UK so am not sure of that end. Check who the movers here partner with in the destination country and do a thorough search on them. If in doubt don't use them. It is stressful enough without a bad moving experience. Big tip if you wish to store go to Big Yellow - they have a promotion running which cut the cost in half for us compared to the movers charges. Our home is rented and the tenants don't move out until Summer. Good luck with everything
