Good advice from FairyDust! I am a sleep specialist working at The London Sleep Centre in Dubai, it sounds as if his APAP pressures are not sufficient and need to be adjusted. Snoring indicates that the pressures are not high enough to help the airway open. The APAP machine should be very quiet if its working effectively and the mask is sealed correctly. We can do that at the clinic quite easily. An additional ENT review and avoidance of sleeping on his back will also help. Weight loss, alcohol/smoking avoidance and getting enough regular sleep are also advised as snoring is worse when tired and sleep deprived. Ensuring the airways are clear from allergies and using a humidifier are also good tips - when we spend so much time here in the AC we often get congested so using a simple saline nasal spray morning and night can help with this. I would certainly advise he gets reviewed at a good sleep clinic though. Hope that helps - good luck!:night:
