Hi DivineBeet, I used Jasmine for my hypnobirthing classes... It's unfortunate that she is unable but there are others who do it too like Elizabeth Bains. Might be worth checking out.... I highly recommend it and even though my labour was long and complicated I managed to stay focused get through the whole birth without any pain relief and gas and air. I found my LO was alert and I had immediate connection with him especially when breast feeding... I will most definitely use all the hypnobirthing techniques for my second birth without a question of a doubt. Above all, I felt empowered to have a achieved a natural birth and to have complete control of my own body... Also I think I started my classes as late as 32 weeks, it meant I could concentrate and focus all the techniques taught in a short space of time, so don't feel pressured to have the classes done so early on too! I forgot to add we used the Marie Mongan method, I know they sell the book in that huge book store in Dubai Mall... Hope that helps! Good luck :) edited by Kookee on 08/07/2014

Hello ladies, happy May day! :) Im sorry about missing Bumps n Babes this Monday gone, Ill be honest, due to my collosal baby brain I forgot and have only just remembered, so much for my phone calender prompt reminding me! Nic25, Ive had pregnancy massages at the Angsana Spa in the Marina (they have a couple dotted around Dubai). I like it, all staff are qualified to do pregnancy massages, they take a lot of time and attention to make sure you are absolutely comfortable and dont rush at all. They have a buy one get one 50% off offer on they also have a really good membership offer for a month where midweek massages are discounted, im not sure exactly what the terms are but I do remember it being well worth it if youre planning to get a few in before the 37 week mark!

Hello ladies! I hope everyone and all their bumps are keeping well! Andreag fear not on the weight gain, I have so far met so many women who are smaller then me, at 28 weeks I too was asked a few days if I was ready to drop...I replied I hope not I still have 3 months to go! The woman in question was 7.5 months gone and way smaller then me! We're all different and well so long as the bub is healthy and growing as it should, I don't think you should worry about your weight too much! Saying that, I have been gorging on sweet stuff the last 2 weeks, my healthy eating has gone a bit skewed and I dont know how to get out of this rut! :-S What time is the meet up tomorrow? I know I have missed every one in the past but I am not going to miss tomorrow! x edited by Kookee on 24/03/2013

Morning ladies!! Freckle38, AndreaG Hubby took me away to Thailand, we stayed in Koh Chang (heavan!!) for 8 days and ended the trip in Bangkok (I think it should have been the other way around but a break away is nothing to complain about!!) :) I'm ever so grateful for the break, we're planning to go back to London for 2 weeks maybe end of Feb/ beginning of March depending on Dr. Braithwaites approval! So I have a feeling I'm going to miss the next meet up again :( as Freckle38 mentioned if anyone is free to meet again before then I'd be totally up for it! I had my 20 week scan last week! Found of the *** of bubba, I'm having a boy! Totally explains why he's been a little raver at every scan I've had so far! As for prams, I am SO confused, I really don't know where to start. I've been very placid with the research and purchases but am getting a little nervous now! I am defos taking on board all you have mentioned so far, I am going to spend this week catching up on that huge baby prep list I've made! Star007 I've been taking pregnacare original vitamins, its the main one which is recommended in England (if you haven't been prescribed folic acid tablets by the doctor). You can take the vitamins through pregnancy and breastfeeding, it will give you all the recommended amounts for each nutrient your body requires at this time! I know Boots back at home have a buy 2 get 1 free offer, not sure about here, maybe worth checking out? A question for you all, has anyone considered hiring a Doula? Or considered doing the hypnobirthing classes? Keep well ladies & bumps! :)

Happy new year all! And congratulations all the new additions to this June group! :) Hope everyone had a nice festive break! @Andreag I still haven't found an aquanatal class, however, I have met a lovely woman who is starting to run her own antenatal yoga classes, she has 2 more spaces available starting with classes running from this Sunday (13th) from 11.30pm to 12.45pm. Each class is 75AED. If anyone is interested please drop Suzanne a line on [email protected] or if you'd like to check her out a little more she has a website - [url=http://sy-yoga.com/'>sy-yoga[/url'> If you are working during the week and would like to enquire about different times, feel free to get in contact with her. She is only just starting these yoga classes for us lovely pregnant ladies and is limiting each class to 5 people. But I am sure she will be willing to expand if there are more women interested? If anyone else does come across any aquanatal aerobics classes please do share the details on here, I am pretty keen to get my aquafit on! Speak soon :)

Hello all! Congratulations nervousmom, isnt it the best feeling?! Freckles38 I did try and look into the gender, the doctor was having any of it, she said its too soon (though she didn't attempt to look)...I did try having a look into the nub theory but I couldn't see too clearly, little bubs forehead is round but I have a feeling its a boy...Im now looking forward to the 16 week scan, my sister in law has just found out she is having a girl so I am very eager to find out! Thanks for the sugary tip!! How did your NT scan go? KamW I hope your move went well! How is everyone else doing? I've missed the bumps and babes group for the 3rd time since first going, will make a huge effort to go to the next one. Is anyone else planning to go? Perhaps meet you there? Also, does anyone know of any aquanatal classes here in Dubai? Really want to start exercising now that the 1st trimester is over! :)

Morning Ladies! Hope youre all keeping well! Glad your scan went well bar the no action Freckle38! My scan was quite funny, the baby wouldnt stop moving, it was having a bit of a party in there, just about managed to get a scan photo which is very blurry considering how much it was moving! My appointment went very well, I really like Dr. Braithwaite, nice to know she also used to be based at Kingston Hospital, made me feel a bit nostalgic about home, considering that would be my nominated hospital if I had the little one there! I have my NT scan on Tuesday, my husband unfortunately can't come because of some important meetings so I may sneakily find out the *** too if I can. He however does want to know, I am just too eager! So, Freckle38 if you can keep a secret I'll be naughty with you and say do it, good luck with it still! :) andreag I went to the one at the Marina Mall on Thursday, unfortunately didn't make it this week, I cracked my filling so had to go and get that sorted! I too feel like I have a jelly belly, more to bloating then an actual bump. I cant tell if I've put any weight on or this is just the way it is meant to be? I too cant believe how much time has flown by already! Hope everyone and their little bumps have a great week ahead... :)

Hi all, @andreag The bumps and babes group was brilliant, very warm, friendly and everso helpful bunch of women! Glad I went, eased a lot of questions I had, I shall be going back as regularly as possible, a great way to make friends with children, especially when all of mine are still out on the party scene! An NCT group in England called the Natural Chilbirth Trust, its a support group for parents. @Freckle38 thanks so much for your reassurances and help! I have also decided to go with Dr Braithwaite at the American Hospital after having spoken to a number of different people, my appointment is with her tomorrow, its my 12th week so I'm keen to get a scan booked in but couldn't do it without seeing her first of course. I'm really looking forward to it! Good luck with your scan this Thursday, exciting times!! :)

Morning all, I'm a newbie as its my first post but also a newbie as this is my first pregnancy too. Im due June 16th, I've yet to get my 12 week scan done before I can let the cat out of the bag...it has been the hardest 11 weeks to date, I'm rubbish at keeping my own secrets!! I've gone to MedCare in JBR as I had been recommended a gynae/obs, it turned out it was the wrong person at the wrong hospital. I had in fact seen Dr. Ghada Shate. She seems ok, however, I am pretty overwhelmed by the choices of doctors you can get seen too and where I could have my delivery. Any recommendations? I know things are somewhat straightforward in London because I know how the system works. At 11 weeks I'm still baffled as to what I should do next? Does anyone know if there are any NCT type groups I could join here in Dubai? If we get antenatal help included or if we get a midwife assigned to us? I'm heading to the Expat bump & babes group this morning, in the hope that some of my uneasiness can be settled! Im very much daunted by the whole pregnancy thing here in Dubai! @Smiles I also noticed fine hair growing all over my tum a few days ago, I've been reassured its the hormones and it should calm down after birth? I would hate to think it would get worse, imagine a tummy wax? Ouch!! Look forward to touching base with you over the next 6-7 months! :)
