I need a JOB!! :) hehe...just kidding, but really ... i recentlly left a marine company where i was working for 3 years...and terribly miss boats... didnt think it would be this bad.Goal is to be back in the business before the start of the Dubai Boat Show, but finding it hard now...let me know if your DH needs people, i worked in a very well known co. here. :D

Try to check with other guests too, i got married last year, got 2 toasters, 5 wedding albums, an about 8 picture frames.. :) not talking about all the vases... :) Also ended up with 2 fridges, as some people knew we needed a new fridge :D

@ Gorobattie no..i dont mind at all the different opinions....they do help me realize a few things, i wrote on EW to express my frustration..(as i stated bellow), and maybe get an advice on a better way to make him understand / help him out, more gentle then a simple pi55 off!!

As SalsB said we cant turn our back on him now.... he is a freind of DH and we know all his problems very well...not to talk bad about people but his wife was smashed drunk one night at 7th month of pregnancy half a year ago..and she kept on drinking the whole 9 months, she drinks and fights with him, we do feel sorry for him, but its the 1st time he has been at ours for so long and we just didnt know how much it can get hard not to be able to do what you want in ur own house, we are trying to be gentle with him, so telling him to pi55 off its not an option at the moment ...i think!!

tell him you understand he is having trouble with his wife but you ad your husband are needing some alone time....there are hotels just for that...spousal spats lol DH tried but he said he's got money issues and promised it will never happen again.... And EID is ending!! :( im just so frustrated to have to live with it for this few days off!!!

Some family 2 months ago decided to let their dog have a litter....she had a litter of 9!!!!!! They send the mom together with pups to DM because they could never look after 10 dogs for 2 months (till the pups grow up) on Thursday mom and the 9 pups were rescued by a kind lady 2 hrs before they were ALL scheduled to be put down!!! Please think twice!!

Sorry if this has nothing to do with the thread, but i highly reccomend for her to be spayed right away! Dont let her have pups there are just too many pups being put down everyday because nobody wants them.

A Jack Russell type breed of dog has been found in the Jumerah Village area; he was wandering the streets. He doesn't look like a young dog, however he appears to be in good health. as part of those always trying to help abandoned dogs i would as well advise to wait a little more... i think let the kids get a little older, lots of peopple actually gave back the dogs because they have kids that age, you cant control a pup, he will be playing and jumping around the whole day non stop.. :) Good Luck with your decision

oohh this sounds very fishy.. :) i've been to this parties in Dubai a few years ago, when i was single and stupid! :) "after Parties" this is what they are called, full of married men that try so hard to think of an execuse to tell their wifes, its not aways cheating, i dont want to judge, but this parties are usually full of young girls that go grazy... :( maybe he just had too much fun and forgot that Dubai is full of taxis, trust me, when he wakes up he will be wondering how did he come up with such a stupid execuse.

Im so sorry for yu little guy, sadly sometimes they just cant recover at this age, i've had cats all my life and it kills me but when they are so old nothing can be done, some just give up and not able to fight anymore, 17 is a lot! it might be fare for him just to end his suffering, im sure its very hard for him to keep on fighting!! Its a humane thing to do, it will not hurt him, im sure you will miss him!! :( *tears* Good Luck!

i went to see my Dr for advice in Feb, thats when we started to TTC, she advised me to start the same day, still TTC and still taking it, i dont think it harms you :) Good Luck!

I lived in Deira a while ago, next to our building there was a building only for "working women", there would be men going in and out all day long and half naked women on the street,..etc... now imagine letting your kid play downstairs close to all that!! My ex lived in Karama i didnt live there but i would come and see him often for few days, after an accident of a men chasing me until my ex's door step he never again let me out alone anywhere around his buildings. This never happened to me anywhere in Dubai.

You'll need to provide proof of relationship - ie. if its your grandmother (wow, that she's 60 - my mother's that age!), you'll likely need your mothers birth certificate and then yours, along with an affadavit of dependency suggesting that you will soley responsible for her financially, along with salary letters and a short note. You apply to the humanitarian section, they will decide within a week. If you explain that you do not have a copy of your grandfather's death certificate, they may understand. Hi! My name is Su and my husband, me and our 5 month old baby will be moving to Dubai approx oct this year. We are english and expect to rent a home ....we currently live in Paris so moving about not entierley new and I hope to find coffee mornings and meet new people in Dubai. MY QUESTION is ...any advice on where to live? Budget 250,000 annual rent Would love a villa with 4 beds and access to a pool but who wouldn't? Thing is I can't decide between living far out say in the Arabian villas or consider apartment living like Dubai Marina, Jumeirah beach to benefit from many nurseries, beach social club ect. My dh will be away a lot and I like to be busy with maybe a community around me ect. Any ideas? An advice? We are looking around different areas tomorrow for a feel for places. I was part of a mums group in Paris called Message , it was wonderful and I met some lovely people. I get the feeling expat woman Dubai might be a way to meet new people too.... Su :) Dubai is a great place to meet some new people, :) you will enjoy it, cant really give an advice on places to live as im just looking for a villa too, been in Dubai for the past 6 years and still cant choose a decent place! But all i can say is, you've got a great budget, you will find a lovely home!! :) Welcome and hope you enjoy!

Sorry, it was a bit of tongue and cheek. Im the woman who is always on here complaining about my DEWA bill. My first bill was 6000dhs, my 2nd is 5017dhs and Ive put in 10 complaints and brought up half of the grass that I put down along with the irrigation. What a waste of money that was. Krisitina - if you search EW for Dewa bills, you will see all my posts. Dewa have changed my water meter, but Im not holding my breath. My electric meter hasnt been changed but Ive already applied for a bank loan as its gonna cost me about 50k to move. Dont move to JVT. Im really sorry, hope it all ends very soon... This was a huge help DH is convinced not to move there NOW!! Thanks, i really hop everything works out well for you!! x

My mother also lives here, but she is divorced and lives with my younger brother, they both work but if we compare salaries mine and DH is higher, so i was thinking i could have a better chance to bring her here, in the home town she lives alone, her other 2 daughters are there but they absolutely have no chance helping her, she doesnt work so we HAVE to send monthly money there, she would be much better here, we are of course willing to get her a medical insurance, i just hope there is something that could take the death certificate out of the way.
