i live in JVT - my advise? Don't move here! Its horrible! There is nothing here and DEWA bills really high - the people that say that they pay low DEWA bills could be ones with no garden. You need a garden or some sort of work done to the garden area if you move here as otherwise all the sand will get into the living room. I have a garden and used to pay huge DEWA bills until i stopped watering my garden twice a day. I now only water it once a day (for only a few minutes in the morning) and my garden is dying but i don't care anymore as i am moving our end of December!! I also do laundary once a week only to save water and fill the sink with water and hand wash the dishes (no rinsing). Anyway, since i've really controlled the amount of water me and my DH are using our DEWA bill has stabilised to AED 1500 ish per month. By the way i did pay AED 9500 at some point (February 2010 to be precise!) other than DEWA the AC is so bad that we had to buy a fan from Geant to cool ourselves a bit better than the AC is doing. Toilets don't flush properly. By the way, we moved into a brand new villa. So not sure why so many things go wrong! My lease is up end of December and cant wait to move to a proper place!!! My adivse is please don't move here!! Thanks a lot!! This really helps, i showed this to DH, somebody told him that they water their garden 3 times a day and their DEWA is 1200....i really dont want to risk it!! Its huge money we are talking about, just HOPE i manage to make DH understand!

Tha we are thnking about getting a dog now...:) hehe.... Just kidding, DH is very attached to his mom!!! :) so dont ave much choice, he tells her a lot of things!! Sorry but something is wrong; if it makes you uncomfortable then you need to tell your husband that telling his Mom 'lots of things' is inappropriate - heavens above, he could be telling her what you cooked for dinner, and then what you also did for him later :\: LOL Thats doesnt wok, as i said he is very attached and if dare to open my mouth about his mom, as a reply he always says that im worst, but my mom lives here, and i see her twice a week, plus she is 38 so we have a very good relationship.....ofcourse i would tell my mom everything... :D atleast she doesnt nag about it!!

ignore, although she is correct to some point, those ttc and pregnant shouldn't handle cat litter because of the risk of toxoplasmosis in cat faeces. I'm still riding out on this, DH has to deal with cat litter still and DD is 8 months! so delegate all cat cleaning duties to DH and email MIL saying thanks for your concern but you've got it sorted! good luck ttc. Did that already, DH takes care of it now, but she gets crazy when she sees cats being all over me, (when we skype) i have kittens sitting on my shoulder or i kiss a cat!!! :( we got all of our cats together, me and DH and we knew we would TTC and have kids some day, getting rid of them is no option...

Are Jumeirah village circle and Sports City really THAT far? How far is it from SHZ road, or, lets say, from the the usual landmarks - major malls...The rents are very low while the apartments are new and pretty big, so i am wondering what`s the catch. Any ladies living there or at least seen the areas? What`s your opinion? I've heard a lot of people saying that its not far at all, my DH is one of them, but when we went to see them i wanted to run away, its just "OUT" of everything, you can barely see Dubai, it doesnt seem too far when you drive, but to me it did seem like entering "Matrix"....:\: i just wouldnt be able to live there, maybe in a few years now its a whole big construction mess!

Hi, Any ladies living there? we are contemplating moving there & wanted to get feedback as to how do you like it there? We are a family of 3 adults (hubby me & maid) and my DS 1 & half year old. Any feedback is much appreciated! TIA Dont really want to talk bad about the place, but its not great, my mom lives there, its filled with A LOT of people that live in labor camps just accross the road, in my moms building she has to fight everyday with the neighbors coz they let their kids play in the corridor until 12 am, we had a cat trown infront of or door. as you will not have a parking space just for you, its really hard to find a parking after 6 pm, and if you do there is a 75% chace that your car will be scratched the next morning, my mom has 7 scratches and she's been living there only since April. Traffic also an issue because of those big roundabouts and all te truck drivers. Hope it helps....honestly i dont think its a really good place to live.

It was a long time ago but dont be scared when they say surgery as it usually means they will drain the gland, it will be packed for about 3 or 4 days then they remove the miles of packing. It really is no big deal so try not to worry about it, honestly. Hopefully the antibiotics will work quickly. Good thoughts :) it is also an in and out day surgery, you will be a bit sore but not alot and otc drugs will fix it. Fine after a few days. Just watched the few available videos on youtube, stiches are required?!?! oohh im already in panic mode!! starting the antibiotics today, really hope they work!!

Well haven't actually been sick yet, just feeling yucky most of time and hungry too! My tummy is rumbling like I haven't eaten just after I have eaten something!!! My reason for the scan today (6weeks 3 days) is to see if I have twins or not as we did fertility treatment!!! Very nervous but super excited too! Will let you know! Sparkly glad to hear your MS is better :) Least at a 12 week scan you get to see baby nicely! Today all I will see is a little sac I think and hopefully a heartbeat :) Fingers crossed!! :) *happy*

Cheques can be cancelled only if you tell the police that you lost your cheque book.. that is a really really stupid idea - all the LL will need to do is go to police with the real cheques and you are in serious trouble. Yup, thats why we quicky gave up this option, but just for info this seems the only way to cancell any cheques. (not that its the thing to do)

It all depends on the LL, we are moving ot of ours 3 months earlier, wanted to do same, cancell cheques, but found out you cant do that, will end up in big trouble, our LL asked for the 3 months to be paid anyways, as penalty. We are facing problems in the building as well, but it doesnt look like they want to hear anything about it...

So you want this page blocked because you think that anyone who wants a dog should get a rescue one? wow...... Well, that would be the best thing to do i you want a dog, however people cant be forced, some only help this business increase, by demanding more and more pure breeds. (you think a pure breed from Europe will give you more love?)

I think not many people realize how these puppies arrive here, and that in several european countries selling puppies in shops like they do here is forbidden! These puppies come normally from eastern european countries where they get separated from their mum after just 2 weeks, nobodys make sure they are ok b4 they get shipped to the country of destination. Its a russian roulette as they say,cos normally half of them die during the trip or develop severe illnesses(they r only little)...the "lucky ones"that manage to reach to shop are sold at exorbitant prices and most of the time develop themselves a disease(these dogs rapresents only a way of making money and sometimes behind this traffic there are criminals, whether is drugs, prostitution, expensive puppies they ll use any mean to get money).Obviously we cant stop the shop, these people are only selling the puppies and dont know probably wots bhind, its a matter of changing people way of thinking....there are several dogs out there to b adopted, and if people really want a pedigree one at least make sure they know where they come from.Wot have just said its not the rant of an animal lover but the well documented truth. This particular shop is different from any pet shop in Dubai, they are responsible for importing th pups, its run by some arab guys that import them and sell them (they do all the work), they take orders for any breed you ask for ship them here and you have you pup in 2-3 weeks.

Legal or illegal It makes no difference, the point is there are too many dogs and cats in Dubai and not enough homes for them all. There are thousands of dogs destroyed every year not to mention the suffering of thousands of others. You all know the problem with the animals in Dubai you read about it often enough on this site. I don't believe in making a living off the back of innocent animals. All breeders and pet shops in Dubai should be shut down, considering it is a Muslim country and they don't like dogs ( no parks for them and not allowed on beaches) it's time something was done, it breaks my heart at what goes on in this country with animals. And you all know what I mean. So don't go making a case for the people making a living they can make their living another way. Couldnt agree more with you!!!

i can understand your point and I agree that people should be made aware of the huge number of dogs and cats needing new homes in Dubai. Paying huge amounts to bring eeven more animals into dubai is pretty crazy especially when a lot will no doubt end up abandoned as well one day. By all means creat awareness and maybe set up your own fb page but trying to close down a legit business page isn't right. You could try posting on their page (using your own 'rescue dogs' page) to make people interested in owning a pet aware of K9, feline friends, etc. although they might see it as spam, but i think that would be an ok thing to do. Good luck! Thank you, i ofcourse do understand, but im really trying my best, each person from that page i have contacted until now has told me that they are not interested in the usual skinny shelter dogs :( that just made me mad, had just a reply to my email come before i started this thead, made me go crazy, i will not be able to shut it down, and thats ok i just wish people didnt care so much about the looks of dogs!! :(

That im really not sure off, im only trying to convince people not to buy! As lots of people dont care if its ligal or not, they want a cute little pure breed, they can get it in 100 ways, no matter where they get it from. But would love to know if its ligal importing them. So you don't know if what they are doing is illegal or not, you just want them to stop making a living doing something you don't approve of...... Nope, just want to promote adopting instead of buying animals!
