Thanks star southern, I will definitely be looking thoroughly into max allowance etc for schooling as that is the deal breaker for us. I'm assuming it will just be paid from when he is 5, which means I will need to find a nursery for him at least a couple of mornings a week as he needs the interaction with others and definitely needs the stimulation. Can't wait to get the e-mail through with everything in writing am researching everything to death at the moment :)

He will be working for the ADNOC group on a new site, we will have an apartment in Abu Dhabi city. It's a 5 yr contract, if the package looks good we will take it :) thanks for the advice ref schools that is my only concern as he is in nursery at the moment and wanted him to continue until he hits school age, he gets bored easily and going from a house with a garden to an apartment will be a shock to his system

Thanks very much for your advice feefmick, beany and busybee2 he will be receiving his full package offer with details in the next couple of weeks. He went to a final interview today and asked about medical, apparently it covers everything including dental, thanks for the heads up on that feefmick :) and a full family visa, it is a big decision and one we won't take lightly. Having lived in Cyprus for 3 years I don't want my kids to have to go back to the rubbish weather and crime rate in the Uk. My 3 year old think its cold when it's 20 degrees c so he will cope fine. I think I would go home with the kids in the height of summer as that heat sounds unbearable to me and I would hate to be stuck in all day. We have the entertainer book here and it's great, glad they have one for Abu Dhabi too. We also generally just eat out at food courts with the odd fancy meal for a celebration. Thankyou very much for the offer on housing allowance that would be a big help to me, I will message you when we have our full entitlement. Once again thanks very much for your help and advice :)

It is very stressful moving from one foreign country to another :-s the package my husband has been offered comes with 3 bed apt, medical, flights, visas, schooling and transport allowance along with money salary of 6500 USD in your opinion is that enough to live on? I will be a stay at home mum
