Thanks Leah. We have tried some non-posion traps which seems to have caught a few but we are still seeing the odd one here and there and was looking for a more permanent solution. They mentioned using a spray and gel - it was the spray aspect that I was especially nervous about. Maybe I could ask them just to use the gel?

Hi Over the last few weeks we have noticed an increased number of cockroaches in our kitchen. We are relatively clean people and I have cleaned out all of our cupboards but we are still noticing a few here and there. I am keen to get rid of them as they are gross. I would like to call in a pest control company, like rentokil but I am 17 weeks pregnant and we have cats (which are house cats). Does anyone have any experience of using pest control when pregnant -- is it okay or should it be avoided?!?

Thanks for all you advice! Yes we are both British. We both lived in the area where we are planning on getting married prior to moving to Dubai (although that was a good few years ago) but neither of us are originally from that area. I am sure that I can dig out a phone bill or something from the place where I was renting, in fact I think my UK driving license uses that address . My OH actually owns the property he was living in (it is no reneted out) so should have paperwork, etc. I presume that it will not affect his non-residency status for tax purposes if he uses that address?

I have also heard similar horror stories 1972nessie and was hoping someone could appease my fears! I had mine put in when I was in the UK and it is due out in October of this year. I would like to get it taken out sooner, as I have been experiencing some unpleasant side effects from it in the last few months (was fine until then) but I may have to wait until my next trip back to the uk :(
