Hi That's awful, but not suprised. I have seen alot of unethical drivers around. I check my car, but wouldn't be suprised if I came back & found one too. You see loads driving round who just keep the dents. Not sure on how much repairs are around here either - hope its not as dear as everything else! Good luck x

I was an avid fan of this! Then when I got married at Xmas, had makeup lady do wedding make up, she used bobby brown's new concealer set! best one I have ever come across. As soon as I could I went & got one. It's a bit different! A concealer then a highlighter on top. Gave my spare touch éclat away to my sis! X wouldn't ever buy anything else

Hi I've been the Mina Al Salam one - which is more child friendly. Both excellent food. Not sure if this is the same at xmas. I went off recommendation off here for the Mina Al Salam with kids & wasn't disappointed. have heard that Bubblicious at Westin has even more for children, but again unsure of xmas time.

Welcome Nessie - we move over in a couple of weeks to Dubai from the UK - managed to get both of mine into new Gems DSO ( Silican Oasis) school opening in September which is UK cirriculum, mine are aged 4 1/2 & 8years. We chose to live on Arabian Ranches - there is a school bus that will run from DSO to AR. But will wait till mine are all setteld before I add that on the list. We get regular updatres on the school & the rest of Gems school in Dubai have great reputations. We struggled getting into schools with Uk cirriculum, long waiting lists etc..... you can also live near school at Silcon Oasis - its an up & coming area - still in development - has supermarket, shops & rest - but I wanted something a little more set up so we can meet others quick etc.....

Thanks Rubberduck - can i be cheek & ask roughly how much it cost you - to compare as would prefer to do it direct rather than paying loads of commission, everything else is costing so much. Did you have to pay for a special crate for them? edited by lcoolie on 30/06/2011

Just added this on main forum to someone else's question. We are new to Dubai, got 2 girls starting in sept. After struggling to get in schools, really pleased with this choice so far. Head has good reputation. Hubby , is over in Dubai, has been to every update meeting and has met most of the team, and comes back with v positive comments. Gems has good reputation, so I'm sure it will quickly find it alongside their existing ones. They seem very organised, regular updates & parent meetings? Every time I have emailed asking questions, I have got a quick response. edited by lcoolie on 23/06/2011

Hi, we have our 2 girls starting in Sept at DSO. We move over to AR in mid Aug. We struggled getting in schools, but head here has good reputation & gems have a good track record? Hubby has been to every update meeting & met most of the people there! His feedback is always good, we havevsince turned a couple other places down, as now Prefer this, and both in same school. So pleased so far, will have to wait & see once it's up & running. Slightly diff situation as we are newbies to Dubai. I also like it's new to all students so my daughter won't be the new girl! They all will be! Plus similar on the parent side, we are all new to the school, rather than trying to fit in with established groups.

Hi thanks for that , we will get hold of the Doghouse asap - thanks for the advise Claire Rubberduck - where abouts are you coming from in the UK - seen a few of your posts - looks like we are in the same boat, but you are over sooner. I am not coming till mid August due to kids schools & have now managed to get a place on AR in Alvorada 1. The whole process has been a big learning curve with schools / houses / dog - but I'm sure it will be worth it in the end & also know there will be loads to learn about once we land too!! edited by lcoolie on 08/06/2011

Hi Mom of Twins Make me feel alot better - as we are over in the Ik & just going off what they tell us without seeing the progress. How old are you children goign to DSO? I quite like it that my 8year wont be the new girl in class, they all will be! I know some will know others from other schools- but the school / teachers will be new for them all & Gems do come out well in teh inspections - so really chuff so far, just waiting for the uniform list to some out!

Hi FO My hubby's boss & family took us the Meydan Brunch when we came over on a visit in Feb. We went there as they said it was one of the best for kids in Dubai & the food was good - sure was - I didn't see my 2 daughters for hours! Face painting, bouncy castle, girls made their own t-shirts, clowns making balloons, their was a kids food station with chef making fresh foods, ice cream galore, choc fountain with fruit & candy floss. For the adults - again amazing choice - from japanese & thai, to traditional english & italian. This was my one & only brunch in dubai _ and sold it to me!!! There is an inside & outside. To top our visit off there - Harry Rednapp was their with the spurs team - so we managed to get a few autographs too!! But will def go again with the kids when we move over in August! Hope this helps.........

Hi I have seen lots of posts on brunch info - so sorry adding another! I am over last weekend of May without the children to sort hopefully sort a house out. decide on where we are going to live with hubby for when I come back with the children to move over permanently in August. I would like to go to a nice place with hubby, serve alcohol, good atmosphere/ friendly ( not too rowdy full of people just out to get drunk) , but not ridiculous price. Somewhere that's going to wow me over as full of mixed emotions at the moment leaving friends & family & job on one hand & excited about our new adventure on the other ! thanks
