Hi there, I went through this process in January... I moved out to Dubai to join DH - only to be told by company lawyers that the marriage certificate had to go to Milton Keynes, then to London, and then come back to Dubai... Not ideal! We sent it with couriers to Milton Keynes and that part happened within days, arriving back at my parents' UK address a week after it had left Dubai. We could have arranged for it to be sent it straight onto London, but I was too worried about it getting lost, so decided to fly home and take it there myself (you drop it off in the morning and pick it up 5 hours later). I then flew back to Dubai and the company lawyers sorted out the rest (nb, it took about 30 days, so I was worried I'd be fined for overstaying my visa, but it never happened).

I'm 8 weeks and having similar issue... I've been drinking lots of tonic water (pretending it's Gin and Tonic) and always trying to sit opposite DH at dinner with friends (he drinks from my glass, then his glass, it works a treat but gets him quite tipsy!) I think I'll have to tell a few friends early though - there are a few that just wouldn't fall for that.

Thanks granola - I don't think Infinity are on my insurance list sadly, but thank you for your recommendation.

Thanks abby_n_christina - I really do think I want someone who is patient and indulgent of all my questions. It's my first pregnancy and I have lots to ask. But a personal recommendation counts for a lot. Will look her up and have a think, thanks again.

Thanks AussiePup, really appreciate that. Would you suggest I went to see Dr Elsa as my initial appointment to get everything checked and confirmed? Or to doctor closer to home? Sorry, so clueless - no idea how it works. If I was in UK, I'd just call my doctor. xx
