I also keep feeling dizzy, on and off or like whatever I'm sitting on or lying on is moving slightly. When it happens i always look up at our ceiling lights to see if they're swaying at all but they never seem to be so i just keep thinking I'm imagining it! Glad to hear I'm not actually going completely nuts!! EXACTLY!!!!!!!!!! I feel like I am constantly looking at the ceiling!! me too ...

Ive heard of this happening before to a friend who lived in one of the older villas in Jumeirah. On the first occasion, the tiles came up across her living room floor - without breaking - to form what looked like the ridge of a roof. It turned out that the problem was due to trapped air. When workmen came to check the problem, the area under the tiles was completely dry and they were able to remove and relay the tiles - but not without creating a lot of dust !! In fact she called in the workmen again recently when she found some of the tiles in her living area sounded hollow when she walked across them. Workmen confirmed it was the same problem as before. Hopefully it is only trapped air that is causing the tiles in your master bedroom to rise too. edited by Jasmine57 on 19/05/2013 yep remember now...the maintenance man also said that trapped air caused then to rise up

Happened to me last year in our apartment. Suddenly started hearing cracking noises from the floor. It was scary to say the least. I thought the whole floor was going to collapse... called in building maintenance. They said it can happen. Don't know the reason sorry, they just came in and fixed it after a few days.

citric acid would work...but no idea where to find it in Dubai.... another option would be to use part vinegar part water and let soak overnight but don't really want to do that...read somewhere that Tommee Tippee doesn't recommend that with its sterlizers

yes that was around the time I felt the quake....strange no one else felt it Some people are definitely more sensitive to things like this. It must be all inner ear/balance related. Some people even feel them a few hours before they happen. God I wish i wasn't.... :( hate having this dizzy feeling

I had another dizzy spell at 3.03pm today. I am getting sick of this though as dizziness and nausea woke me on Saturday morning too. The last time there was a big quake a few weeks ago I really felt it, I mean my car was rocking from side to side, now I just feel light headedness and a strange feeling, but I am feeling it. yes that was around the time I felt the quake....strange no one else felt it

I really felt dizzy/like there was one last night at 8 or 9pm and I think there was in Iran, but not a big one. It's quite odd that we are feeling the smaller ones! Wonder if they are deeper down or something that means we feel them here. It would be interesting to hear about how all of your animals react to these! I think the more shallow they are the stronger they are felt, the tremor i though I felt was only 25 km deep. There have been 2 more since , in the same area ...that's 3 earthquakes in less than 2 hours dont have a pet otherwise Id be be to sure to look at their reaction if i suspect a quake. They always sense them first

I read a blog post about this an year ago... a person found a toothbrush made out of *** hair...So it really is something that you should complain about...most of the labeling is done in Japanese and most of us do not bother to read labels since we assume everything here is halal unless explicitly labeled otherwise. here is the link to the blog post i am taking about http://diatodxb.blogspot.ae/2010/05/***-bristled-toothbrush.html ETA: ok the link does not seem to be working since "p i g" gets censored out but if someone wants to read the blog post ..just scroll down to May 2010 posts...ul find it there... edited by lilypad28 on 25/03/2013

Sorry they are putting you through this Aryanwynn. I may not be able to help you but I would just add that the customer support at VFS and their practices are just **** . I dont know why Emirates has partnered with such an incompetent organization. I went through a hellish time last month to get a visa from them...and I had to pay 900 dhs (for visa extensions and ticket changes) extra because their customer support kept telling me I had not applied for a visa, even when I sent them screen shots of the initiated visa application. The visa arrived eventually... 10 days late and the best part is... I got the another email from their customer support, the same day the visa arrived, telling me again that I had not applied for the visa. Go figure I don't know why they do not have any contact here in the UAE. You just get told that you need to contact them through email. And the funny thing is for every email reply you need to wait 2 days. So if you send them the reply to the email right away....they send you an automated message telling you to wait for 2 more days. I mean WTH. I would do what skykitty has suggested.. try a different browser. Also do not use their re sizing tool. Use MS Paint instead. I tried using the provided tool and the quality of the image that came out was not very good. Also I know this might be a bit obvious, but i hope the image types are all in JPEG format and not BMP or TIFF formats. Hope it all gets sorted out for you. Good luck

I Spoke to my Ob/Gyn over the phone, she said it will ok be if I take it, it all depends on the type of antibiotic , afterall I was given pretty strong antibiotics after my C Section and I still breastfed. I plan to ask the pead before I take them but he will only be available after Sunday and I dont have much time, so asking if anyone has any experience with this. Thanks 4 ur reply though.

Am in the same situation here. DD is 5 weeks old now, I had planned to BF exclusively till 6 months but things did not go as planned. DD was feeding and continues to feed for more than 2 hours if I breastfeed her and will wake up hungry within 1 hour, needless to say I could not keep up with the timings as I was barely getting any sleep, so had to top up with formula after 1 week and still feel guilty everytime I make her a bottle. I tried pumping milk and at times i would get 3 oz milk per session at other times barely 1 oz. The doctor I talked to told me to give 10 mins per side max and the top up with formula. I feel so bad for not being able to give her the best start but feel like my body is failing me. Is it normal for a newborn to be sucking at the breast for 1-2 hrs and still be hungry soon after? She sleeps for a good 3 hrs if I top up with formula. It worries me if I keep giving her formula my own supply will diminish :(

I had very weak and thin too until I started using Kaminomoto Shampoo. The result is amazing but not instant. It takes at least 2 to 3 months. I mainly use the shampoo and the hair growth accelerator. You can find them at Life Pharmacy with the best prices in the market. Good Luck ;) more info on the shampoo pls Lepoint, does it make your hair grow faster? or does it also make existing hair thicker? would like to try it if its really tht good... exactly which product have u tried and how much do they cost. Beebers I would second the use of Phyto tabs...they really are good... just wondering can they be taken by breastfeeding mothers? Any Idea?

Our contract is up for renewal mid Dec. Last month the Real Estate tried to pull a fast one and increase the rent by 17% percent, when we told them they cant as per RERA calculator they are now saying that we need to pay the chiller charges by SQ FT. The chiller charges were previously advertised as free. Can the LL really do that? Im frantic with worry since I am not even in Dubai at the moment, due to give birth and DH will be joining me soon. How do we deal with this. Anyone else been in the same situation?

Thanks for all the replies ladies. They helped alot. I had the first injection today. Will be back at the clinic tomorrow to get it the 2nd time. Talked to the Ob before getting them done and also got a 2nd opinion. Both doctors reassured that there will be no harm to the baby. Fingers crossed all goes well from here.

Thanks for the replies.. Daza I am not in Dubai at the moment, I would call the number gave you but not really sure Dr Nicol would give out advice to just anyone over the phone?? Thanks for the reassurance SuriveDubai. Im being told that I need to have the injections because my blood work showed Postive ANA and Anti DsDna twice in Nov 2011 and Feb 2012. However the latest results from June 2012 showed both were negative, based on the latest results my doctor at Latifa was not too concerned. I don't know why this doctor wants me to have the shot :( I dont want to cause more harm than good to the baby. A voice in my head keeps saying why take a risk when everything is going smoothly. :(

If you will go into the second time period while away then best to get the approval for the return flight before you travel, if that makes sense. )Do you mean 31.5 or 31+5 as in 36??) lol emmm no :D didn't quite get that sorry .. do you mean I should get an approval from the EK medical department for the return leg of the journey if planning to come back at 35+ weeks pregnant? If its that, Im planning to come back after delivery :) And yes i meant 31 weeks 5 days, almost 32 weeks :)

Thanks Skykitty, I was hoping to get advice from you. I was at terminal 3 last night to purchase the ticket, the staff at the counter said I only need to bring the doctors note with me since I will only be 31 + 5 weeks when I fly. No need to call them before hand and inform The help line has suggested that I call them and tell them what exactly what my note says so that they can update it on my booking. I'l probably just do that so to avoid any problems at check in.

Ladies is there a clear rule written anywhere about the "no increase for the first 2 years" I have been on google all this morning and could not find anything. Only managed to get this off the RERA website "From January 1st, 2008 rental cap has been set at 5%. This means that Landlords may not increase the rent higher than 5% of the existing rental agreement for a period of 2 full years starting form the period of the commencement of the lease" Dont know if this is pregnancy brain but I'm not able to get my head round this. Does it mean landlord can only increase rent only upto 5% after the first year? As I mentioned before, our rent IS withing the RERA calulator. Do we demand a 5% increase or tell them they are not entitled to any increase at all. Also is the 650 aed renewal fee legal? The contract mentions a 500 aed renewal fee, we did not contest that at the time of signing the contract, only to find out now that there should only be a 160 aed fee for registering with RERA.

Why do they have to make things difficult. I called yesterday with the same question and no one said anything about the medical department verifying the note. After having 2 premature babies, I can assure you that things will be really difficult if you deliver your baby on board. You should be thankful that they care. I honestly do not mind filling in all the requirements, even if that meant getting a clearance from the medical department, what I meant by that was that Help line keeps giving information that is contradictory, which isn't making things easy. I called yesterday and was told that I will only need a doctors note that I will need to show at the check in counter. I was worried that the CSR might have it wrong since she seemed a bit clueless, so just to confirm and be on the safe side called in again today to confirm, and was told that once I get the doctors note I will need to get a clearance from the EK Medical Department aswell. Naturally that left me confused because my OB suggested I get the note 3 days prior to my flight and getting the clearance on a short notice might get tricky. After checking the EK policy online with regards to expectant mothers flying, it says the clearance is only required if travelling after 35 weeks and boarding a 4+ hrs flight, (which is not so in my case). I called the 3rd time and this time was told that I do not need a clearance from the Medical Board but only need to fill them in with the details of the Note over the phone once I get it signed by the doctor. That's 3 different statements from the same help line :) . edited by lilypad28 on 17/09/2012

I am currently 31 weeks and due to fly home withing a weeks time. I just got off the phone from the emirates help line and they told me that I need to get a note from my OB that I am fit to fly and then get back to them so they can verify this with their Medical Department and make any arrangements necessary. Its a short 2 hr 45 min trip. Is this the norm? I thought the note only has to be presented at the check in and boarding counter. Im confused because my Ob told me to get the note only 3 days before I am due to fly. Why do they have to make things difficult. I called yesterday with the same question and no one said anything about the medical department verifying the note.

camandcarly Thanks for sharing the link. Does the instruction manual state that the stroller seat should be used for 6 months+ infants though? I did look at the buzz at babyshop and saw that it reclined fully but was left confused after I read reviews online saying that the recline is not a full recline, thus not suitable for a new born. If you are using it for your baby then it should be fine i guess. That is a bit reassuring.

Thanks for the replies ladies. Im still left a bit confused though. So basically the buzz can recline flat but the infants legs stay a little elevated? I have been searching online too, and the buzz manufacturers recommend that the stroller seat should be used when the infant is 6+ months. But alot of mumz have used it for their newborns. With the maxi cosi car seat, wont the babys spine still be curved if she's left sleeping in it? Im hearing good things about elea. But dont think il be able to buy that after a recent change in circumstances. Im looking for a 2nd hand buzz since we might have to leave dubai soon. Dont want to invest so much a stroller il have to leave behind.
