Thanks for replying sourskittleashnut, wow that changes things alot, I thought the quinny buzz has a full recline so an infant can lie flat :( . Did not know that they didnt! Just saw this on their website "The Quinny Moodd and Buzz are the best strollers for your lifestyle. Both are suitable from birth using a carrycot for that relaxed lie-flat sleeping comfort" However from another web search got this " The instruction booklet however clearly states that "It is recommended that you do not use the Buzz as a pushchair until your child is able to sit up unassisted, usually at around 6 months"" Now that's confusing. Thanks for the suggestion I will have a look the Maxi Cosi Elea. I hope it has the option of baby facing you.

I cannot thankyou enough for taking the time out to write such a detailed reply. I will try to hold off giving EBM until 6 weeks as per your advice. What had me concerned was the night time feeds (thus wanting to express milk for it, so DH can give it to the baby), since I get terrible headaches that last for days if don't get enough sleep but I guess that is just part of mommyhood :). Another thing that actually had me worried was flying back with a just a few weeks old baby, so dont know how I am going to go about feeding the baby on the plane. Thankyou for posting the links. I have gone through them and found them quite useful and informative.

There needs to be a permanent thread on EW where people can share their experiences with any deals that are a rip off, will make cobone/group on etc think twice before giving out such deals that are such a total waste of money. Thankgod I didn't buy the Envouge deal but I did buy a deal from cobone recently for a Biscuit Press, when the package arrived it looked nothing like the picture shown on Cobone (extremely poor quality) It was actually a cheap copy and did not function properly. And while I did not lose much since it was fairly cheap, I felt sorry for all the people who were buying so many different product deals from the same company, which im sure would have been equally horrible (baby car seats, sewing machines, ice cream makers) I wish there was some way to warn those people so they wont waste their money!

apologies to the OP if this is slightly off topic, wanted to ask The Russian, were you able to achieve normal growth after treatment? From what you have written here, it seems I suffered the same when I was around 12 years old, the dandruff is gone now, or at least stays at bay as long as i continue using a particular shampoo for it, but my hair has never gone back to how it used to be,. Is there anything that worked for you to get the hair that you used to have? No problem, lilpad28. =) I've been wondering that myself, too in case I experience thinning. edited by Cheezu on 06/09/2012 :) Cheezu, you might want to give the product that you are using some time to work. A week or two maybe. Also make sure you have it on for at least 5 mins initially for it to work properly. I would still recommend you try the Bodyshop Ginger Anti dandruff shampoo, it retails for 40dhs so not expensive at all, and something you can continue using for life since its very mild. For my dandruff problem, I did use Alphosyl which has coal tar as an active ingredient, and it worked really really well, but with dandruff you need to find a lasting solution, since it almost always comes back once you stop using the shampoo that is working for you. And I hated having to use such medicated shampoo's on my already thinning hair. Also you might want to try applying warmed coconut oil once a week, since that can help clearing up dandruff. Good luck and I hope you find a solution.

I second NYX , their eye shadows as well as blushes are really nice. Also if you are willing to pay for shipment, The Sleek Makeup line from UK has excellent reviews (you can google them) their eye shadow pallets are excellent, sooo nicely pigmented and have a huge choice of colors. The blushes are are also nice, and have received rave reviews. Plus they are dirt cheap!

I would suggest you check out any of the artificial jewelry shops in meena bazar. Shouldn't be too expensive, although it depends on what sort of material has been used. Artificial is cheap, polki/kundan/silver a bit expensive than that, gold obviously very expensive

The only thing that has worked for me and still does (thank god! since I had it bad) is the Ginger Anti Dandruff shampoo from the Body shop. The good thing is,its mild so you dont have to worry about continued use. My scalp starts itching and I start noticing flakes whenever I run out of it and start using any other shampoo..That's when I have to make a quick run to the mall to stock up again. HTH

You can just call aramex and schedule the pick up. Let them know that payment will be done at the receiver's end. I had a package picked up from sharjah and paid for it when it arrived without any problem.

The pest control guys will probably not be spraying the house for the roach problem. I had a problem with the small roaches in the kitchen. Called in the the pest control, they just applied some sort of gel in the cupboards and corners where they might hide, never saw a live roach after that. Im sure the gel will pose no problem regarding your son's asthma.

Thanks Ladies all brilliant idea's. Will repaint as a last resort if all else fails. For now will try the charcoal, coffee and daiso odor eliminators. Dont know about Arabic Bukhoor and spices though. I want the smell to be eliminated. I think mixing more scents with it will just make it worse since the smell itself is quite horrible.

Hi, if you will be working in Academic City why not look at renting a Studio or 1 bed room apartment in Dubai Silicon Oasis. Its right by Academic City and will work out much cheaper than the 3500/month you will be paying only for a room and shared kitchen (which sounds too much in my opinion, but then I don't know how much shared rooms cost)

Oooooh yes, i had them. It's very common among pregnant ladies I have known and unfortunately can leave you limping for a day or two. My Dr advised to take calcium and magnesium tablets, it helped reduce the severity and frequency of the cramps alot. Thanks for the info sparkly. Just got worried that it might be symptoms for an impending DVT. Hopefully its just a cramp and will go away. Kicking myself for not taking my calcium magnesium tablets for more than a week :(

umm if it has the seeds .. i would suggest soaking it over night, or for as long as you can, then cook it with some water so that the juices can come out, You can then mash it and pass it through a sieve so your only left with the juice and pulp. HTH

Here's a tip I was given and it worked for me.......before shampooing just rub some conditioner into your scalp and leave for a few minutes. Then follow your normal routine. Mine was fine after two goes. All you are doing is moisturising your scalp. One of the main causes of itchy, flaky scalp is just dryness. Try it! Are you sure Sue R? Conditioner always worsens dandruff...its never meant for the scalp anyway. Even using the 2 in 1 shampoos will just worsen the condition. As for oil treatments ..coconut oil works wonders

Okay here are a few suggestions... never for for the 2 in 1...even some of the H&S ones were 2 in 1 which is just baad for your dandruff... Over the years ... in my experience the only H&S that worked for me were the ones that read MADE IN USA...not the ones you get here with arabic text on the back..usually from KSA....its has an active ingredient called priyithione zinc (wrong spelling) which actually does the work... no other H & S worked for me and trust me I had it BAD..anyway before you go look for that there is something else you should try If its really bad dandruff...as in flaky and itchy...buy alphosyl...the coal tar works on the dandruff..it smells awful tho...otherwise i would jus recommend you just buy the anti dandruff ginger shampoo from the body shop...its mild and it works...thats the only one I use and thankgod its been working for me all these years.. . HTH

Hi everyone!! Just had my surgery this morning... All went well! I opted for the more advanced procedure which I think is called zyoptix (not sure though!!!) and paid an extra 2000 dhs before going in for the surgery. There was a long wait because someone came in late so everyone else was held back... Then I was told there is a Ramadan offer and they would refund me 1000 dhs!! But I have a feeling they did that as an apology for the wait... Could be wrong though. I can now see perfectly and the itchiness is already gone :) i was expecting it to stay for another 2 or 3 days but all has gone better than expected :) No regrets whatsoever...!!! Hi amandashaks, Do you have any idea how much they charge for the intial consultation? So that they can see if a person does indeed qualify for the surgery or not? I had a consultation done 2 years ago for the PRK procedure(not in dubai) and the results revealed that I am not a viable candidate. Maybe technology has changed that. Btw congrats, good to know it worked for you :). Having to wear specs can be such a pain. :)

Purple...i cannot thank you enough... the stress of not knowing what to do , and where to go has been a killer.. Il try and get the receipts from accounts asap. Fingers crossed alico will reimburse the the ante natal package amount as-well. If they don't, il stay here and put faith in all the good reviews people here have given latifa and hope for a good birth experience. :)

We actually did call alico. And they were not too sure about it, the customer service was clueless, the only information they gave was that yes they cover govt hospitals 100%, same thing with the rep. Just said that we need to provide the list of what is actually included in the package, so want to know that the accounts department can provide that before I go and make a trip down to latifa. I don't know why they make it so difficult here. I am having a hard time stressing about all this. A full week of constant headaches. Anyway was your experience at Latifa good? Maybe if its not as bad as I am dreading, I might stay and deliver over there.

Hi Purple, Thankyou for replying. Sorry if this sounds a bit dumb, but wanted to be clear on a few things. Can you please confirm that you were reimbursed for the ante natal package as-well? Since they don't itemize every thing separately on the 5k bill, I should just go into the accounts section and put in a request for the detailed bill? Also can this be done before I give birth over there? I have registered at Latifa but might end up getting cold feet and go back home to deliver since I dont know how they will treat me at Latifa. This is my first baby and I don't want to end up having a horrible birth experience. Alico also has a policy of filing all claims within 3 months of them incurring, so will like to get this done asap and have one less thing to worry about.

Was there in march. Don't know if you will like it there in this heat, since you cant lounge around in the sun and there isn't much to do except for the pool. Also you can ride the quad bikes in the dunes. Its a quiet and relaxed place if you want to get away from everything though. Like Suethack said, ask for rooms that are facing the pool. Since the ground ones have their own patio, and the 1st floor one's have their own balcony. Not all rooms have that.

Okay so i dont know if I should be writing this here or just start a LATIFA HOSPITAL SUPPORT GROUP thread :(. This week has been very tense with me trying to decide on the hospital I want to get registered at. Finally decided on Latifa, spent a good 4 hrs there yesterday, meeting with the doctor and getting the blood work and future appointments sorted out. Not too happy with the decision at the moment I must say. The OB/GYN said I probably wont be getting an appointment for the 20 week scan done, and then went on to say that it is not important. Don't know what to make of that. Is it really not important?. Plus still waiting for any word on the Latifa hospital appointments that were requested. Were you girls given appointment dates right away or were you told that you will be notified through sms? I dont know if I should still be waiting for the SMS or just go make the trip to latifa to try and sort things out myself. Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

Hi everyone, Big Hello to all the new comers, This is getting one busy November thread. Seems like most of you ladies will be delivering at City. I have been out of action mostly cz of the tension related headaches and sleepless nights I was getting due to not being able to decide on a hospital. Have finally registered at Latifa, But still very confused if its the right choice or not. :( Silkie - have you decided on a hospital? Hope to catch you online on gtalk soon. So I am getting addicted to 7 up and mangoes. The mangoes should be healthy but the 7up is worrying me :(. Who else is getting nasty food cravings.

Hi Toriab82, Welcome to Dubai and to the November thread. Since you are new here I Hope you are adjusting to heat here :) You are the third person on this thread to be due around 20th of November. My self and Awayfromhome are due on the 21st. How is your pregnancy going so far. Also have you registered at a hospital for delivery? or are you yet to decide? Done any shopping for the baby? Found out the gender? Feel free to discuss your feelings and concerns with us. Most of us are first time mums here i think. But will try to help in any way we can :)
