It's not a glorified "house cat"! They had to breed at least 1000 cats in order to get this one to look the way it does and it cost almost $6000 American dollars to have it shipped all the way from the states. Its the cost for the kitchen filters, its worth it. And the good thing is they can take them out when you move and re-install them.

I have an Australian account and I cant change the credit card to my UAE one, which I would prefer. You can download and stream through your apple tv though you need to convert it to apple though. Have you tried making the purchase through the computer rather than the through the iPad/apple tv, I know I have purchased through the itunes store (on my computer) and then come to use the tv and the purchase was there. <em>edited by littleone on 11/02/2015</em>

They are a scam, I just googled it and it came up and a few different forums, either based in Singapore or Indonesia. If anyone cold calls with investment advice then I wouldnt touch them with a barge pole, its just inviting danger.

Hi Mummy2012 Sorry for taking a while to reply. I had laser to close off a varicose vein (sorry I dont know the technical term) nearly two years ago, I immediately noticed a difference in the swelling. But I also have oedema in my foot and this did go down a little but not greatly, Dr Sobeh thinks its hereditary as my grandmother also had the same thing. However, my vein wasnt a big gnarly vein that is visible, it was internal and Dr S said I have really fine veins, which explains why its a complete pain for nurses to find a vein when I have a blood test. But thats another other story. If you do schedule an appointment I would speak with Dr S and let him know your concerns, I was very hesitant to have an operation in Dubai particularly as it was vascular surgery but he is very patient and was happy to spend time with me to discuss my concerns and explain everything. I felt that his care and manner were excellent, he was very gentle. I really cant fault my experience with him at all which is why I have no hesitation in recommending him or if need be going back to him. Good luck.

Manam, if you use the search function there are quite a few threads on varicose veins and some really good recommendations by EW'ers on who they have used and their experiences. I saw Dr Sobeh and had a really positive experience and he used laser. Good luck! <em>edited by littleone on 09/02/2015</em>

I was talking with a few neighbours last night when out walking the dog and one guy mentioned that his whole building is being sprayed this month. The other neighbour said their building was done a few months ago because there was an "infestation" so I am wondering if it is something seasonal.

Little one, please keep us updated on that, as it seems many dodgy pest control companies are around. Oopsie, our pest control is arranged through our building management, not even sure if its outsourced but I will let you know.

If it sounds like a loud rattle as the water is passing through the pipes it usually means that there is an air lock, it can be the pipes knocking against something and the whole length of pipe moves, it could also mean that a seal in one of the pipes is broken as well. I would get a plumber (a proper plumber) to come and look at it. Try contacting Jim will Fix It, i had some issues with tiling and whilst they couldnt help the guy who answered the phone was able to steer me in the right direction.

My DH and I are going through a similar situation where friends have split up. its one of my very best friends in my home country and she has left the relationship for someone else. Unfortunately there are a myriad of other details which contribute to the whole awful situation but my DH has been very supportive in my choices on how I deal with the friendship going forward. I made the very hard choice to cut of all contact with her and to support her husband and children who are with their dad. But the point of my reply is that I really respect my DH's support and that given all the circumstances he has backed me 100%. Having to deal with the loss of the 20 year plus friendship and the knowledge that I picked one over the other has played a lot on my conscience. But my friend isnt the person she was and I have to grieve that I have lost her and that the friendship we had as couples is also lost. <em>edited by littleone on 01/02/2015</em>

They know about him but they just got about 15 dogs/pups dropped in their laps today. No worries, the people that want help in finding him a home want to make sure he is happy and so do I :) No way Sue! They had 17 dogs dumped in 20 minutes the other day and the amount of poor puppies that are going into the shelters at the moment is terrible. My heart is breaking for the two little ones that each had a paw cut off by some monsters. Although I am trying to convince my DH that my furbaby needs a buddy, but I am not winning the battle! I will keep plugging away.

For a seminar type of function then have a look at either the Ritz Carlton or Emirates Towers. If its more of a social business function then why not one of the restaurants.

I dont think you can take luggage on the metro, although I am not 100% sure, its also a long trip as I believe you have to change lines. Taxi is a much more efficient idea but book a taxi rather than call for one in the morning.

It's my pleasure to look Carambar, I only wish I could find it but I'm still on the case off shopping again tomorrow so if I find it I will buy as many as they have in stock. The bonus for me is that the sales are on and Witchery is making a huge profit! DH is suitably unimpressed as there is little room in the suitcase. I have stocked up on oxo cubes, violet crumbles, vita wheats, p!gs ears for the fur baby, red rock chips. Have a list to complete think there might be twisties on that list!

I wasnt referring to Lolacat, it was your comment: [i'>The police could have walked in at 10am or snuck in in free clothes, armed, (apparently there was an easy entry/exit point if 6 people broke free) and taken him down.[/i'> I highly doubt that trained negotiators think that this is an appropriate strategy which is therefore the reason that they didnt do it. Commentary from ex military experts said that it isnt unusual to wait until nightfall when the hostage taker is getting tired and then to make a move. Only when a hostages life was in danger or the situation was escalating to a point when the hostages were in danger did the police intervene.

[b'>Did anyone read how the female victim ended up being shot?[/b'> I read that the male victim lost his life as he tried to overpower the hostage-taker, so go shot in the fight. But, I did not read any claim that the hostage-taker shot the female, only that she had been killed. Was it a case of police going in shooting, and she was hit in the crossfire? As it said they went in shooting, throwing brandades. The entire siege was farcical on the hostage-takers behalf. 6 people escaped, he took the wrong flag so one of his negotiation requests was for the ISIS flag... come on. The police could have walked in at 10am or snuck in in free clothes, armed, (apparently there was an easy entry/exit point if 6 people broke free) and taken him down. The #illridewithyou hashtag is a very lovely thing for the public to do. Just read that the poor woman died in hospital of a heart attack. No mention of her being shot. Very sad. If they can show that had it not been for the stress of that day that she may not have had a heart attack, they could pin that on the hostage-taker. It does not surprise me that people thumbed the link down. I have said it once and will always stand by it, there are a lot of people living here who put on a fake face when they walk to the door who are very against the practices here. Really? "pin that on the hostage taker"? So inappropriate and uncalled for, people have died, give it a rest with the political agenda. In the US a guy has just gunned down a whole family, this stuff happens all over the world, why do people need to make it into something else? This had nothing to do with Dubai so why even try to insinuate/mention that there is some sort of connection? This ignorant mentality is what propagates divide and intolerance. It is called a chain of causation in laws. And the prosecution, and on behalf of her loved ones who will want this man away for as long as possible, if "ut for" his actions, she may not have had that heart attack, then he can be charged with manslaughter. Very hard to do seeing as he is dead.

Londiamond, my cousin was one of the police officers at the seige, in what capacity we wont know because he doesnt share too much of what goes on with his work. Needless to say I am proud that he was there to assist in the ending of the situation. I find your comments quite offensive and ill informed. Unfortunately the consequences of a hostage situation are tragic and families have lost children, siblings and parents and this is the same for the hostage taker, I am sure his family are filled with guilt. <em>edited by littleone on 16/12/2014</em>

I dont believe fb is the right place to air martial/relationship issues. Its childish. My brother and his soon to be ex-wife do it all the time and I find it petty and immature. And I call them out on it, its petty and if I think this then I can only imagine what others think of it. FB is all about perception and if you get into an all out discussion on line about what you think you are stooping to their levels. Ignore it and take them off as friends.

DH and I are in the same position, although we have just renewed our lease for another 12 months, so we are putting the purchase on hold. After the recent numbers coming out of a decrease in sales price of 5% for Q3 and our personal expectations are that there will be further downward pressure on the real estate market. This would include the impact from the Russian economy and the possibility that many investors will want to liquidate. We had a specific building that we wanted to buy in and it is mainly held by Russians and the price they wanted for an apartment was ridiculous, so its still on the market...surprise surprise. I wonder if the demographic of the purchaser is changing and there are more owner occupiers/end users rather than investors.

Amanso, I very much doubt this would be the case of someone just dumping it. Many of the gardeners leave gates open and its easy for a little dog to escape. This happened to me on many occassions and one of the house boys knew it was our dog and despite being petrified of dogs he went and got him for us. OP ask the maids walking dogs on the frond if they know whose dog it is, take it to the vets and check the microchip. This dog could possibly be a big part of someone's family and they may have children who are really upset their dog has gone missing. <em>edited by littleone on 08/12/2014</em>

We are also in the DIFC and only getting 1 day. I actually rang the Government Services Office and they confirmed that they have been given the 3 days but they dont mandate holidays within the freezone. Its up to the individual businesses to decide what holidays they given following the announcement by the government. As we are part of a bigger organisation that arent in the DIFC we go with what has been mandated by the business. Shame as I thought we could also milk the 3 days as well.

I was at a conference the other day and this was a point of discussion, it was rather interesting that they predict that the oil price will stay low for a while and the middle east can sustain the lower levels. The economist predicted that it will eventually move upwards. Pressure from the EU and its stability is more worrying.
