I m not new in Dubai and do go out but... I m stuck;-) Which place would you please recommand, up-to-date? TIA

Hi Eireann, interesting... I m taking her to Dr Kathrin. I gave her the last doses every other day instead of every day and "throat" pain started again:-( I might buy a new box of Nexium very soon...although no fan of medication. Still hope the osteopath will do a miracle soon:-) Have you tried osteopathy?

Hello, just became a mum and will experience my first flight with baby (and DH) very soon. Suddenly I (stupidely?) asked myself: how to get to the airport? I m not taking the car seat with me as it would count as a bag with the airline we are flying with. Do taxis provide newborn seats? If yes can one really rely on a booking? My question:how did/do YOU do? TIA

Hello, have just delivered my first and we are wondering where to go on holidays with baby girl beginning of October (2 weeks). We want to go "east" from Middle East as we want to take advantage of less flight hours than from Europe during our expatriation in Dubai. We do not want to go for "sea-sun-beach-relax holidays" since it s kind of life we have here (I know, Maldives, Seychelles & co are much more beautiful but still;-) ). Usually we like the nature a lot but I feel that a jungle trip might not be the most adequate at that point... We were thinking about China or Malaysia...what about hygiene there? TIA for any tip.

Hi Ladies, It has been a long time... JZJunior, Torjetaylor,...I woukd like to apologize for not coming back to you re:powerwalking; it s definitely not me. Let me put it like that: 2013 has definitely been a tough/special year. And it ended up very special since our first baby, due mid of Feb..., was born just before Christmas because of a stupid UTA. After 1 month NICU, all good so learning now how to take care and understand the 3rd family member:-) It s nice to read that most of you have met in real life;-)@coffee mornings. Might still happen! All the best for the current month! :-)

Hi Tara.k, may I ask you if you were successful? I m looking for racing bicycle cufflinks, also "carved" and not engraved but not easy to find. And the idea of arabic initials is tempting me:-) TIA

JZJunior, I m even a bit more south than Marina Mall, on the other side of the bridge, in front of Yachtclub more or less. Very kind of you to suggest to meet in Marina South on early morning:-) Isn t it too demanding?

Torjetaylor, I m going to Real (JLT). I was told by doctors that the 2 really good studios for pilates were Real & Exhale. For me Real is simply more convenient. Only Exhale has prenatal YOGA though. JZjunior, still cycling? Cool!:-) Let s say on Tue morning e.g. ? Where are you in the Marina? I m next to The Quays property...

AnonDubai, we were told with 14wks that it would be a girl at 80%: for us this result means actually the same as if we hadn t be told anything. Some friends confirmed: they were told smthg at 80-85% and it turned out it wasn t. So et s wait the organic scan I would say... :-) And personnaly I just hope this little thing to be healthy:-).

JZJunior, Torjetaylor, Elderflower and... I started prenatal pilates today and it feels really good, but would be probably good to also do some "dynamic" walking in addition to that: would you be interested in meeting for this activity (we should be able to talk at the same time;-) )? I intend to do it around 30' a few times a week in the early morning (have to be back home at 7...ooops) but if you are not working it might sound crazy for you...;-) In the evening then?

Congratulations everyone! Had the 3months tests last Sunday and everything is fine:-) According to the results, not planning amniocentesis TwinButterfly, but of course, one always would like to be sure 100% instead of 92% I suppose... Ladies, just wanted you to be aware and careful as I m still amazed: I ve caught the whooping cough here in Dubai! There are apparently different pregnant women who got it. As the symptoms are those of children (strong coughing, vomiting and suffocations), I tell you it is NO fun! It has different phases and lasts weeks. I didn t know that the vaccination one gets as kid wasn t for the whole life and that in Europe they have just issued new recommendations, i.e. to get vaccinated before getting pregnant or at least during pregnancy. You may want to check. Apparently it will not harm the baby; hope so!

Hi there, I have been using hair bleach powder on face & body for 20 years. Now I am pregnant and have heard and read so much about "not using ammonia" especially while pregnant that I feel I should at least stop during pregnancy. But I have to find a solution as I am really feeling very unwell with my black hairs (sun does not help enough). I have researched for bleaching products without ammonia but could not find any in Dubai. Hairdressers don t sell. And I m not convinced to just order on the Internet, especially if from China or Bulgaria... I was about to order Loreal Platinum Paste without Ammonia but read really bad feedbacks about that one... Any experience to share on the subject? Hopefully! TIA

Hi dxbmummy and fuller, I m 5weeks (pregnancy) with my first:-) It was very emotional to see the little bean with the heartbeat but we were told not to be too happy until 12th week and it s...long. When you say 6.5/7w, do you talk like Drs (since last periods) or in pregnancy weeks? Since you already have some experience, how did/do you manage with work? I finally found a job a few months ago, which I love, but I m feeling so terrible that I already was a lot absent, which is bad...but I m throwing up so much and having some malaises...called little symptoms but very annoying...

Hi there, having lost half of my hair (health check, etc ok), it is time to do something. I want to try a shower filter but...which one? Of course, went through the different posts before writing this one. But I am confused: many of you talk about the blue filter and...there are two: PureBlue (saw it only online) and Swissblu (the one sold e.g.in Ibn Battuta Mall). Which one one would you recommend? If PureBlue, where to buy it (or to be ordered online?)? Or perhaps a third one? TIA. As many of you know, pretty depressing this hair loss:-(

Hi, I am looking for the best option to get a driver to drive (in a few months; just trying now to set up the budget for the whole surprise) 2 friends/visitors from Dubai Marina to Banyan Tree Al Wadi (RAK) on one day and back another day. Have already checked on Careem.com but would like to compare. Dubai Taxi seems to offer that service inside Dubai only. What about "hiring" someones's regular driver (who wouldn't be busy at that time)? As the rest of the surprise will already be quite expensive, I wouldn t' mind saving on that part...TIA

I m living in the Marina and have been asking Baker and Spice several times when the market would be back. After having told me "soon/next month hopfully", they explained me last week that they had been caught organizing it without a licence...that s why the market didn t "reopen" last Nov. They are now trying to get a licence in order to be able to start it again in Nov.

Hi ladies, we are travelling to Sri Lanka on Friday and I was wondering if we should rather take rupees or USD (since many prices are indicated in USD). And what about HSBC debit card: does it work well? Thank you in advance for your replies.

ALC, definitely. I m learning with them since last April and am very happy with their way of teaching. For most levels you can choose: 09:00-11:00am, 12:00-02:00pm or 06:30-08:30pm.
