We have 300 ............sadly I am in Australia so I can't share-pity about that! My son's friends company held an Easter egg hunt and they limited the eggs given to each child to four to stop pushy parents taking over-as a result they ended up with boxes of left-over eggs. Jealous now?:) Very jealous!! Just rub it in, why dont you?! ;) edited by LMAO-DXB on 09/04/2012

Oh no!! Hope ur ok Amy!! Altho I havent had any tumbles yet (touch wood) my ankles feel a quite wobbley so living in flip flops - anything with even a slight heel is a no-no for me at the mo, but mostly, i just seem to keep getting wedged everywhere!! Was is a restaurant the other day and was convinced I'd fit thru a space, only to find myself stuck and very embarrassed!! Please be careful! xx

I tried making these yesterday. The consistency of the filling is juist right and dd said they tasted great but the mixture is very difficult to work with. It's best to have egg moulds and pour the chocolate in and then add the filling. Making them as described onlini - dipping the "egg" in chocolate is almost impossible as the mixture is too soft. We got some weird and wonderful shaped eggs! I'll look out for some moulds so hopefully they'll be better next time. Glad they were yummy!! Keep us posted if you manage to find any decent moulds to use, and where you find them! Am keen to try but in the least possible faffy way! :)

Blimey Plumie! How do you manage to find all these sales??! Dont suppose you know when the next Baby Shop sale's gona be on do you??! ;) Hahaha, you're too funny ;) Seriously - I stumbles on it, went in to buy a birthday present! And then went - i'll take that, and that, and that ;) No idea about Babyshop, but Mothercare has 50-75% off selected items - LOL! Hahaha! Have been and raided mothercare already! Got a great deal on a baby monitor! :) Trying to decide whether to go back and make use of their discounts on sterilizers. On a side note, would you recommend an electric sterilizer or a microwave one? and are they generic - eg, if i buy an Avent one, will Tommy tippee bottles fit in it? or would i need to buy a specific TT one?

Thanks for all the replies ladies! So its looking like Le Meridien and Miramar are the best contenders. A little put off by the sounds of the beach, but guess we could always just laze around the pool instead. We're going to be spending a further 3 nights in RAK at the Hilton resort (cant wait...I LOVE it there!! :) ) so trying to decide if its best to do Al Aqah, or spend a couple of days in the mountains somewhere like Hatta Fort or Khatt Springs....hmmm.....decisions decisions!!

Thanks for the advice ladies! Cakes and Sal 123, and anyone else going on their babymoon soon, hope you have a fantastic and relaxing time! Think we've sussed it out now - gona stay local and spend a couple of nights probably in Fujairah and a few nights in RAK. Saw a fab deal on one of the offer sites for Krabi but then thought of the 7 hour flight, the jet lag.....decided to give it a miss! Had completely forgotten about the Hilton Resort and spa in RAK (thanks for the reminder Cakes!! ) We stayed there just for 1 night a couple of years ago and LOVED it there!! So gona go there again. Cakes, you'll have a fab time im sure! As for Fujairah, any suggestions as to which hotel to go for? Had also been looking at Hatta Fort as something a bit different but not too keen from the pics on the website. Anyone been recently?

Hi elle13211 My friends came over last Oct and flew with KLM with a short stop (approx 1 - 1.5 hrs) at CDG (Paris) heading to UK and at Amsterdam heading to DXB. They said it was fine - happy with the service etc, and got a good price. My parents are going to be doing the same when they come over in Aug. Might be worth a look, altho i know prices are always more expensive doing a return trip from here to UK rather than the other way around. HTH.

Hey ladies Thanks for all your replies! And especially to you Aussiepup for taking the time to tell me about Jordan! Im currently 24 weeks, so will probably be around 28-30 weeks by time we get to go away. Would love to go to Jordan but from the sound of things, I reckon Id struggle and come back more tired than when we go! (Plus be somewhat limited as to what we could do whilst there!) Think it will have to go back on to the list of things to do when baby is bigger! Zighy Bay looks amazing but WAAAAY over our budget! Hubby has now told me he'd like to go away for a week rather than just a long weekend, so completely back to the drawing board!! Any further suggestions hugely appreciated!

Think i've eaten Park n Shop's entire stock - they've been completely out of them for weeks now! :( Might have to move onto after eights instead.

I was much better behaved after last night! Tonight i made steamed salmon, with a chickpea and bean salad. The bean part of the salad wasnt entirely intentional - hubby accidentally picked up a can of chickpeas and a can of baked beans by mistake (should have been 2 of chickpeas!) so just decided to wash them and use them anyway. Way pretty good actually! :)

Hey ladies! Hope everyone is well! DH and I are thinking of going on a short babymoon, probably sometime next month, but need some ideas as to where to go. Hubby says he'd like to go to Jordan, and although I'd love to go there, not sure I'd manage with all the walking we'd need to do for the sight seeing whilst there. I was thinking of something a bit more relaxing but that wont cost an arm and a leg. Have been looking at places like Qasr Al Sarab, Anantara desert island, Banyan tree al wadi and with the offers they have on at the moment it brings them into our budget but would just be for a very short stay! We've been to Bab Al Shams a couple of times and really like it there but would like to try somewhere a bit different. Dont mind if its in UAE or somewhere a short flight away. Any other suggestions? TIA! :) xx

Thanks for the suggestion Green-ish. Was fearing I may need to do this! Do you reckon I could just take the material and measurements to a normal tailors and they could do this for me? Just realised, I dont even know where I'd get the material from! Would much prefer to just buy some ready made ones tho (lazy, I know!!) if anyone's seen any in any shops.

Hey ladies Good to read everyone's updates! Megs, hope the nausea goes away again soon; Kiran, hope you've managed to get a good massage by now and that your back pain has been sent packing (thank goodness it wasn't kidney stones!!) If you haven't been for one ye, Sensasia on the Palm do a fab pre-natal massage - would highly recommend it! Plumie - great to hear you're feeling so good - I hope you're sleeping better now! and Sami, just read your other thread. So sorry to hear you're going through such a rough patch at the mo, but hang in there - sending lots of love, hugs and positive thoughts to you and your beautiful bub! Im feeling a bit sorry for myself this week - have a cold and a really bad chesty cough, and all the more grumpy for not being able to take anything for it!! Doing well apart from that tho so shouldn't really complain! And was extremely happy to find out I won a Timeout competition for a spa package at Talise recently, so hubby and I are off for a day of pampering next week for his birthday. Cant wait!!! Whoop whoop!! :D Sourskittleash, I just saw your post on the other thread about ante-natal classes - I heard recently that Cecile has now moved to a clinic in Health Care City, but I dont know which one. I have a few friends who have used her for both ante-natal and post natal, and all seem to say she's amazing for the post-natal, but dont rate her as highly for the ante-natal stuff. Have also heard (but dont know how true it is) that you can only access her for post-natal now if you had your ante-natal package with her. Does anyone have any experience / knowledge of any of these things with her that you could share? Have suddenly realised I should really be looking into this, getting off my bum and getting something organised!! Sorry if my post isn't making a great deal of sense today - feeling a bit dazed and confused!!

all these poor dogs running around without collars...so many irresponsible owners breaks my heart At risk of being shot down in flames for saying this, but its not always down to irresponsible owners - sometimes dogs get freaked out by something, slip their collar and leg it! I was always one of the first to judge when i saw threads and things on FB about people having lost their dogs and thought "how do you just lose your dog - clearly cr@p owners!" until the weekend when our dog got frightened by fireworks on her walk and ran away. We weren't being irresponsible at all, i guess sometimes these things just happen and can be just as traumatic for the owners as the dog. We're just so glad our dog was found safe and relatively well, and for all the messages of support and good wishes from people on here. Im glad this little dog also found its way home because of another kind person! Good for you iheartjax! I bet you absolutely made the owners day! :) xx

Hi ladies! Fantastic news! Olive has been found! A lovely man in Tecom called Bassam saw one of the posters, spotted her and then tracked her for us. She'd headed to the bit of desert infront of the racecourse. She's exhausted, dehydrated and limping a bit but apart from that, seems ok. Taking her for a check over at the vets in a little while. We're just so relieved and happy to have her back! Thank you so much for your kind words, support and advice - its all really helped! Its people like the ladies on here and like the lovely Bassam who really manage to restore my faith in people and remind me that im so lucky to live in a place with so many kind hearted people! Thanks once again and bless you all! :) xx

Thanks for the replies ladies. Still no sign as yet, just come home to see if anyone's seen her and posted. Have been putting up posters and asking around but no one seems to have spotted her yet. Apparently the shop in the building next door think they saw her return to our building last night while we were all out searching, but the building doors were closed so she ran away again. hoping this means she's stayed local tho. Called Municipality but no luck. Will maybe try and go there this afternoon if there's still no sign. Going to put some food out for her incase her rumbling belly guides her back again, and off for round 2! Going to head to some of the near by vets later on too incase anyone has taken her in there. The only ones i know near to Tecom are Al Barsha Vet clinic, and one called Pet connetions, also in Barsha. Does anyone know of any others? Thanks again and please keep bumping for me. xx

Hi ladies, Please, I need your help! Our pooch "Olive" has gone on the run after being frightened by some fireworks on her walk this evening in Tecom. We've been searching for her all evening but can't find her anywhere. She's a medium sized Desert Dog, white with tan ears, tan splodges down her back, and a small scar towards the inside corner of her right eye. She is 3 years old. She's a shy little girl and easily frightened but isn't aggressive at all. Please share this and help her get home. We're heartbroken and desperate to find her. She's microchipped and is wearing a dark brown leather collar. Please be on the look out for her, and if you see her let me know ASAP. She's a foster girl from K9 (known to K9 as Olivia) so please contact them, or me on here. Please help, we're absolutely devastated! Had you taken those jobs back then, you may not be pregnant with your beautiful future son/daughther!!! ;) Yes, I know you're probably right! Especially as i was looking for a career change, i think i would always have felt it just wasnt the right time so would have continued to keep putting it off as I had been previously. I truly believe that everything happens for a reason, but just struggling to see the reason in being contacted now. I guess i just feel a bit disappointed as i'd given up on the thought of being able to work, which took me a long time to get used to, and now opportunities are coming up but I can't make use of them! Grrrr!

Hey suze63, it all gets a bit complicated - one guys said that the last 2 people in this post had both left because of being pregnant and he was now looking for someone whose children wouldn't present him with any issues,; the second company said "Oh.......Ummmmmmmmmm......Congratulations!! Erm, i think i need to speak to the HR manager and see if we're still interested" and didnt even know what their policy is on maternity leave etc so waiting for them to get back to me. However, its a full time post and i dont want to get a live in maid to look after a new born and dont know that i would be happy leaving a baby that young at a nursery either; and the 3rd company, it sounds like a massive job in setting up a service and managing a department which i just dont think i have the energy for, plus again the logistics of after the baby is born. If only companies would respond at the time you actually apply for things!

Hey ladies! Thanks for your replies! Unfortunately, I didnt get to see any of them before i went out, but decided to go. The majority of the sushi there was actually veggie stuff, so i stuck to that (altho was completely unaware of the rice potentially being a bit risky! oops!!) and there were a few hot soup / noodle / curry / rice dishes too, so there was much more to choose from than id anticipated. Had a lovely evening, apart from eating WAY too much and then couldnt sleep as i was so stuffed!! Thanks again! Will consider the whole rice thing a bit more carefully next time too. Lucky this time i guess! Phew! :) xx

Hey Liv! Glad to hear you've settled on a hospital! One less thing to think about now!! Im considering changing my Dr but to someone at the same hospital as my current one (infact their offices are literally next door to each other!!) I've been stressing about how to tell my current dr if i do decide to change. how do you reckon you're going to tell yours? :s Are you finally switching to Dr. Elsa? Just tell the other doc I assume Dr. Ibrahim that your DH prefers a female doctor instead. When all fails just blame the husband :) Hahaha!! Great minds think alike sami! was thinking of blaming the husband!! ;) Havent decided yet. have my appt with dr elsa in just over a week but the more i think about it, the more i think i would like to change. asked him a load of awkward questions about things when i saw him the other day but i think the answers i was looking for were prob all pretty obvious, and who's really gona sit there and say "No, im not going to come in to see you if you come in in the middle of the night and no im not going to give you the pain killers you want....." etc! so altho on the surface, all answers seemed perfect, there's still just something niggling at me. will see how it goes with elsa and see what feeling i get from her. dont get me wrong, dr ibrahim has been great and really nice so far, but there's just something im not sure about. Liv, like your idea of a disguise! do you recommend fancy dress ones, or just go in an abaya and completely cover up? ;) (i quite like the idea of fancy dress by the way!!)
