Do a search on google for Paws pet planet, they have a doggy play park where I think you can take your pooch on a saturday for a good run around. apparently they have agility courses etc and big spaces to run around. Havent made it there with our pooch yet but plan to. :)

Hey Ladies! Eid Mubarak to you all! How do you celebrate Eid here without all the loved ones you'd normally celebrate with back home? Hubby is a bit down today as normally for him, Eid is a big family thing at home. I want to do something special to cheer him up and start making our own traditions but dont know what to do. Any ideas? TIA! :)

Thanks guys. Its a health ins company and we have not been dealing with them directly but through a broker. i have told the broker that i wont send another cheque until i have managed to cancel this one as I dont trust the company not to suddenly find the old cheque and cash both (as some of you have mentioned) and that as its the companies mistake, they're just going to have to wait for as long as it takes. The broker has said he's pretty sure that this wont happen but iv been here long enough to know not to trust anyone when it comes to money!! Gutted (but not at all surprised) that its not going to be a simple task! Really cant be bothered, i have way more interesting stuff to do with my time! Oh well! Grrrrr!!!

We went to Channels at Media Rotana last week and used the vouchers without any problems. We ate at about 8:30, so dont know if that would have made a difference with the vouchers as it wasnt at Iftar time. Worth giving them a call and checking tho.

just a gentle bump. Come on ladies, I know its a boring one but everyone needs stamps!! ;) The only places i've found to buy stamps so far are the post office, Hallmark in MOE and the Customer Services desk in MOE. Dont really want to go to MOE today and wont make it to the post office in time. Anywhere else.....Pleeeeeeease?? :)

Hi guinness, I read that on one of the previous threads about kennels and it does concern me a bit. Our pooch is a medium sized girl so I'd like to think that a scenario like that would be less likely? I would hope that the charging part of it was a genuine mistake on PP's part but i gather from your prev comments that perhaps this wasnt the case? Any feedback on Woof anyone?

At the moment posh paws are coming out the cheapest - it looks like DKC are putting up their prices to AED100 per night as of the first of oct, and its after this date that our pooch will be going for her hols. DKC seems to have a lot more info on their webiste about what they offer in terms of daily grooming etc. do posh paws do the same? Also, how long does it take to get to Posh paws as our pooch gets very car sick! :( We're not far from MOE

Just to add to the below comments. A company [b'>[u'>CAN [/u'>[/b'>ask for an employee's passport [b'>[u'>IF [/u'>[/b'>the company is based in a Freezone. The passport is then held with the Freezone authority - not with the company. Outside the freezone, they can hold on to a copy of the passport and the issued labour card hope this helps.

Hi Ali.K, we booked flights back to UK last week with Etihad. It was £410 direct to Manchester, my flight is end of sept and hubby's is in Oct. Having flown with BA, Emirates and Etihad, Personally I would always choose Etihad as my preferred airline. We found these prices both on the Etihad website and on Expedia. HTH.

Thank you so much ladies! You are amazing......as always! I looked in Park n Shop in Tecom but they didnt have any (Booooo!!!) So going to go and raid Lulu's tomorrow, and if no joy there then Spinneys it is! Oh, and Jupiter, that very much depends! If its with a cuppa, then without custard. Or if its straight after dinner (or any time of day or night when im cold and grumpy back home), then definitely with!!! :D Cant wait to have some! I just love the sticky bit on top! YUM!!!!! :D

Hi all! A friend is moving from Qatar to Dubai in the next week or so but is being messed around by her DH's HR dept who are trying to delay their relocation date due to Eid. My friend has 2 children who both have school places secured ready for the new term. They are happy to fend for them selves for a few days if necessary until the HR dept get them selves sorted, and would rather be here ready for the first day of term, rather that delaying for up to 2 weeks as HR is currently suggesting. They want to know, do their children's visa's need to be completed before they can start attending school, or is proof that their visa's are under process sufficient? Hope this makes sense!! Any info welcome! TIA! :)

What would you ladies say is a "Reasonable" price to pay for an outfit over here? The one I fell in love with (but was a bit over my budget) was a long frock-type with churidar (?sp); with a some embroidery around the bust area, and just a little going down the length of the dress. It wasnt all sparkley or glitzy, just quite elegant. I dont know what kind of material it was made from, its was just nice and soft! :) (not silk tho) Its original price was AED1700 and they had a sale on which brought it down to around AED1200. How does this sound price-wise for things from Meena? It was quite late by time we found the places with ready made so only looked in there and label 24, so didnt manage to make a proper comparison.

Thanks all! Went to Meena Bazaar on friday night. Eventually found some shops with some gorgeous ready made clothes. In case anyone's not sure where to head for ready made things, we found the best shops were near to Sun City hotel and Dubai Nova hotel. One shop was called Glance and had some beautiful stuff - perfect for weddings and special occasions. some of the outfits were a bit pricey, but they had quite a good price range and have 25% off at the moment. We found Label 24 but wasnt particularly impressed. Seemed very high priced and not a huge collection. Havent bought my outfits yet but will definitely go back to get them at some point!
