Please don't use Sudocrem on broken skin. It's fine as a barrier but it's not a healing cream. Better to use nothing at all than that. Agree Janesul, sudocream just dries out skin.

It was prescribed by my pead. And on the cover it does say that it "heals" nappy rash. Not sure! There are other far better choices, re ask your pead or change Drs!

It's terrible when little ones are in pain and suffering. There is no need to bath your little ones when they have such bad nappy rash, a quick top and tail avoiding the sore area will be much easier all round. Please take your little one to another doctor in the morning for a second opinion, any Dr who says all the creams are the same needs changing IMHO. There are some good Docs at Motor City and Festival city clinic, a good GP or family practitioner will be fine, you do not need a pead if you can't get one. It's really important the right cream is applied subject to diagnosis. Your Little one may need an Antibiotic, anti fungal or emollient cream or other, your Dr will be able to decide which cream is correct for the "SEEN" diagnosis. Good luck.

The only legal petsitters in the UAE are homelypetz.... all others are illegal and have no insurance for your home or your pets. Who ever makes a claim anyway?

I've never had cats scratch paint work off a car and we have always had cats and cars! Are you sure the sponge used for cleaning the car did not have grit on it? The car wash people here tend to use the same cloth with minimal water, it is very possible there was some dirt/grit and the car wash man rubbed it in. Then it only showed when the car was dry? Just an idea.

Suzyduzy you live in D*O right? Well your maid has possibly sold your table base or possibly done a deal with someone as it is highly unlikely anyone would take it from outside the front of your house without asking and unless you paid D*O headquaters to move it they would not have taken it and the rubbish guys certainly would not take it, so your maid may not be telling you the whole truth. No one would take anything like this in D*O unless they had permission to (pretty sure of that). Can't give away rubbbish! Just because she's a maid doesn't mean she isn't cash savvy, some of these girls know how to spot a Dirham a mile away! Better invest in a safe for all your valuables sounds as if you have a shrewd maid. I agree with your DH i'd be docking her pay big time or demand she gets it back asap! PS: now the cameras are up you could always ask security to take a look at footage of the time it went. Edited to be more PC (not depress another poster) and throw another angle that others who do not live in this area would not be aware of, be grateful if those who quoted could change their posts, thank you. edited by Lolacat on 07/11/2011

I just don't understand why parents at the mall who encounter these people shooting pics of their kids, can just leave it at that. Stay with them until the police arrive and then make a case against them. As for the child at DSO, personally, I could no let a child of that age out of my sight (yes, compound n all)....I will never understand. btw, if someone here has a maid who takes a small boy over to Spinneys at DSO in a trike thingy with a handle, and with Lucas written on the front bumper....just want to say that she is rude and abrupt with the child and more interested in chatting with her buddy (who also pushes and shoves the little one with her). I wanted to smack that maid around the face.....poor poor boys. Where were their Moms?, pls don't leave them with the maids. Sorry, OP, just had to rant. As far as i understand the parent of the DSO child was very close by talking to another person, the child was not unsupervised or alone. Just goes to show how clever these people are. Agree re maids and what they get up to with little ones while madams back is turned.

Go visit Al Aweer jail and you will soon see how seriously the authorities take working illegally in the UAE. The fines for those employing are from 50,000 dhs up. The consequences for the maid are jail, deportation and life bans, worth it? NO

i'd like to have my newborn's hair completely shaven. anybody knows a place from where i can get this, as all the children salon's are offering only machine cut When you say machine cut do you expect your new born babys head to have a hand razor used instead? You could easily buy a small electric razor from any chemist or go to any salon here and have it done.

There is no debate regarding the law with such issues. The police will take such information very seriously and need to be informed. If there is a gang working the region then the police need to be kept informed of such incidents. It's everyones responsibility to be vigilant and report such concerns however minor. I do hope the OP contacts the police and lets them know what she saw.

As mentioned before by other posters, the ones who find this question offensive, are the ones who have assimilated, or are [i'>trying[/i'> to assimilate. The ones who come from a multi- ethnic background, well that's just a mouthful to explain, I am sure they are not offended by it. edited by Irooni on 12/10/2011 What is multi-ethnic?

If you move to the UK you will be a resident so will have access to NHS, social services, family tax credits, child allowances. The UK salary is huge, even after tax and the cost of living in the UK is half of Dubai. Job security and protection is also better if you are in the UK than Dubai. The UK position sounds far better than a company offering such a low salary here.
