My front door handle in al reem has just snapped off. Metal completely snapped half away along the handle so i am no longer able to open the door from the outside. Can one of you lovely ladies point me in the direction of who to contact to repair this? TIA

I use a man called Ganesh not sure what his company is called but he has done all the curtains, cushions and blinds for our last 3 houses.. Very happy with the quality. He will come to you, measure up and show you samples. installation included and any accessories We have wooden venetian blinds from him in dark wood in our lounge and white in the study. After 6years of living here i finally had 2 lessons with belhasa before transferring license. I have been on the roads for a week so far and everything is fine, i just avoid SZR.. as it terrifies me.. I honestly found those 2 lessons helped me immensely and gave me the confidence i was lacking.. I used Belhasa at jebil ali free zone and drove with Shabana. Its a high traffic area which was good as built my confidence up. Good Luck

Hi, DH and i bought in AR 6months ago and used Home Matters. We dealt with jean luc. He was excellent got us a deal that was not on the market and also new exactly what to put in the contracts to protect us throughout the process.. The villa we bought was tenanted at the time and this lead to extra paper work to protect us and make sure the house was ready for us at handover.. Home matters put in lots of clauses that the real estate agent wasn't happy with but it was worth it to know we were not going to have any problems. Home matters also escort you to the land department for final registration which was really good as that building can be a nightmare.. Happy with the service from start to finish also nice to be dealing with a western company who listens and understands you. In my opinion it was definitely worth the money for the service and peace of mind offered.. We will be using them again. Happy House Hunting

All Emirates staff are on the company payroll and are not classed as government employees. Emirates incurs significant social costs to attract and retain the high proportion of staff recruited from around the world (Emirates employs 156 nationalities) on expatriate terms and conditions. On average every year, Emirates has to bear a total cost of over US$400 million for expatriate employee benefits – including accommodation costs for employees and children’s education for management, pilots, engineers and other staff – costs which carriers such as Air France, Lufthansa, Air Canada and Qantas do not incur. Emirates’ cost structure of 13.32 cents per available seat mile in 2007/08 is comparable to that of leading international airlines such as Singapore Airlines and Cathay Pacific, among others. So they clearly state we are not government employee's and therefore no fine should issued to ek employee's

DH and i are looking to put in a new kitchen into our al reem villa.. We want something nice and simple that isn't going to cost the earth. We have been to ikea today to get some info and they tell us we need to find a company who can rip out the kitchen and dispose of all the cabinets etc.. Has anyone else done this and would be able to tell me who to contact? Or would it be easier to just go with a company that can do the job from start to finish.. All recommendations please...

Hi Kiaa, Sorry to Hi-jack your thread, we are also looking to renovate in the ranches.. We had Tip top painters round a few days ago and they did a excellent job. Arrived on time and were very careful with all of our things. Would love to hear about any companies for landscaping as we are looking to put in a deck, bbq area, raised seating area and plunge pool. If anyone has done the following would love to hear what you did and who you used. Also need to replace some windows and sliding doors.. it's proving difficult to find anyone.. TIA

i recently used pack n move and they were excellent.. I only called them 4days before the move.. They packed everything up and unpacked at the other end.. Nothing was broken or damaged.

turns out under one roof and perma glaze are now one company.. they quoted me 1000ead for screen and fitting but they have no screens in stock for 8 weeks.. They are going to see if they can custom one for me so waiting for a phonecall with a new quote as i cannot wait 8weeks.. Thanks again for all the help

its the old dhow that sit's at the end of the pier near barasti.. I forget the correct name. my dh and i went a few weeks ago, they were still waiting for liquor license back then.. Its now owned as part of the mina seyahi.. hope that helps

Maya (Mexican) at the meridien in the marina is lovely... They have a band playing every night and there is always a great atmosphere there.. Food is excellent too and if you are a little confused by the menu ask ruben the head chef to come and chat to you and he will devise the perfect menu for you... You can also use entertainer vouchers..

DH and i went to Nobu last night... Amazing!!! The restaurant was packed, the service and food were excellent without a doubt the best evening out we have had in dubai... Used the main meal voucher and got one of our mains free... No problem using the voucher and got 160aed off the bill.. fantastic.. Will defo be going back..

Kat did my hair, she is russian and has been working in london salons for the last 6years. she has only been at hairworks for 6 weeks She was great, listened to me and gave me exactly what i wanted... I know many ladies on here have recommended yvonne who works there... I was just a walk in, only went for consultation but was happy with the service and quote so got it done then and there..

Just came home from Hairworks at JBR and i'm so pleased with my hair. I had half head highlights, cut and blow dry .. The lady matched the colour exactly to the colour i already had and it's perfect.. The total came to 510aed which i also thought was excellent for the service i received.. Thanks ladies for your many posts on hair salons, i would never have found this place without you...
