If you pay for the operation and give her a good retirement package you are doing the right thing by her and yourself. A lot of workers would not be treated so kindly. Look at the number of pregnant ladies who have come on this board and reported being fired because of their pregnancy. It's normal to get fond of someone who has been working for you for a while but your home is still a workplace for the maid and you've got to retain a degree of dettachment & remember that you have a maid to do a job for you. It would not be fair on your baby to have an invalid looking after her/him. Maybe it's the hard life these women have had but I've found that maids here really show their age - I don't mean that unkindly. Over the years we've had maids that were younger than me but seemed older and less fit, due I'm sure due to getting married and having children very young and doing a lot of hard physical work. So letting your maid retire at 60 may be the best thing for her health. don't they deserve to be fired tho' if they broke their contract by getting pregnant? They are in full knowledge of the terms of the contract before they sign to come and work for you. Retirement package, are you bonkers...she only needs an op at worst and after 8 weeks should be able to return to work...I think the OP has to consider whether charity begins at home (with her family first) rather than the maids? And yes, the maid may well have checked this outback home and decided she would come back here for the better medical care cause 'madam will pay for it'. My good maid (who I would still employ today but she did not want to work in ME) checked her fibroid situation out on her home leave, and told me it would cost less in Philippines than Singapore for the same op. be careful!

just come back to Spinneys at MotorCity (non) they had oatmeal but it is not the same. Had lots of wheat bran which is useful for making the dukan galette. Popped into my local Choitram on way home and low and behold sat on the shelf were 2 x tubes of oat bran sprinkles by Mornflake - yeehaa so I grabbed them both!

Hi Loube, is that from october last year? What book would you recommend to get started? TIA :) Hi, yes from 1st Oct 2011. I used the online coaching, but you can use the book, not sure which one. I like the daily recipes, the forum and being able to read the live chat transcripts as Dr Dukan does change his advise about the diet from time to time, for example last month he said because many peeps from the Med do this diet that one could include 2tsp olive or canola oil daily in your diet, so now you can use sprays for cooking which is very helpful. Also you can eat 5 sugar free sweets a day. Coaching price depends what you have to lose but you will get a quote online. I have just started taking supplements and extra vit C daily but you can use lemon juice liberally in your diet. You do feel a little depleted after 3 months but it is personal preference. I think if you make a choice to follow a diet it really does matter what your end goal is and why you want to lose the weight in the first place...and I guess how much there is to lose, and whether you enjoy exercising (which I do not)

Hi I am following this diet, started Oct 1st, have lost 15.5kg. Have another 10kg to loose. I have done Atkins and Weight Watchers. The beauty of this diet is that after the weightless period there is a longer period of stabilisation in which all the major food groups are re introduced and the body is reassured that the dieting phase is over.....I am not in this phase yet but I am hoping it will be a better result for longterm than the other two diets were....my weight gain is from having 3 kids so I do not intend to let it return.

Repton Seniors finish at 4.45pm 3 days a week, my child is usually home on school bus by 5.30 pm! Prep & ECA is compulsory for these 3 days, and every 4th Tuesday there is house events in afternoon and they finish at 5pm (home by 5.30-5.45pm). School starts 7.45pm There is always a worse predicament.

I enquired recently about genetic tests to Eastern Biotech & Life Sciences, they do a whole range of genetic tests, but it is not cheap. their website is www.easternbiotech.com and there is an email address or online form for enquiry....Good Luck! I could not find anyone else who does testing here in Dubai

it used to be 4 years, having left UK you lost your NCD. Now I hear it is 2. No hope for me, been gone nearly 8 years. Singapore will take NCD from UK, and Dubai (RSA) will take NCD from Singapore, so this emerging market nation is actually quite reasonable after all........

I would recommend Dr Ursula Rolef at Healthbay Polyclinic on Al Wasl Rd , she did ultrasound on my sons abdomen, and discovered Giardia when lab results for other things had not found anything

I read that you need to show proof if you are renewing after a third time that you did actually pay the deposit in the first instance, there is some sticker or something, also because you may have paid 5000 AED when it was changed in 2009 to 2000 AED Just looking into the costs for my own benefit and thought of your post

same for Singpapore....our movers asked us to pack all of these in a separate box, and provide a list of titles. we did not get the charge though unlike Malaysia (Singapore will not allow counterfeit or pornographic either - not that we had any of these, you may want to check the rules on that for Malaysia too)

you can use shop n ship with Ebay....or a courier direct. This is not a developed country though like UK or Australia, my goodness there is no home delivery service for mail (only just starting) so our expectations should never be any higher...and as the Elvis song rings true 'return to sender, address unknown, no such number..' Maybe the first language of those in the parcel sorting office is not English...anyway I do hope your Wedding Woe is solved before 26th...

Hi sorry this is not to help I'm afraid but to let you know our experience. we contacted iStyle as my sons screen is cracked, badly almost to the point of being very sharp...AED1750 for a replacement iPad. We were told they are one hit units and do not get repaired. Same in Singapore with the iPods, you will get a replacement either new or reconditioned (not your choice) for less than the RSP

we have a garmin nuvi 1350...they take some time to realise where you are!!! Also, we turned off the maps for Singapore (where we moved from) as we kept being directed to IKEA Singapore, lol. we have the micro sd for the maps here, just finding the updates do not come through as quickly as the road layouts change! Now they are up and running, they do seem to be okay

I use the Delia method--get the water to simmering point, crack egg into small ramekin, and using a spoon start to swirl the water then add the egg....leave for a few mins, then eat...yum!! I have a wok shaped pan, which seems to help and can do 2 eggs at a time, i love poached egg but not the vinegary tasting ones!

I went with family & friend in November, the main ride was closed for maintenance, and they offered discount off the ticket price or F&B vouchers, your choice. It was a fun day - we arrive 12.30 and left after getting stuck in the gift shop for 40 minutes (lol) at 9pm. It is worth waiting for the simulator - the F1 car is such good fun! I had age range 49 - 8 yrs so there was something for everyone and there were hardly any queues. The food places serve very nice food, you will get your money's worth. We just worked our way around everything....we will return

For sure, there are a few points of grammar I do miss, but my spelling is meticulous a spell bot would be a useful addition to these sites, whereby it makes one correct [b'>ones[/b'> grammar before allowing one to post Perhaps one should have checked one's own grammar before posting.... Lolol :)

One could say that the SMS and social networking sites have aided and abetted the proliferation of poor grammar, making such errors appear correct due to widespread use

Hi I use Joseph Saje (he was recommended on EW quite a lot last year) I found he had some lovely samples, nice fittings and his installation team were very good. Aleena Curtains Joseph mobile 050 252 9870 I will have to move in June 2012 and I will use them again, they will also do alterations on your existing curtains, and cover sofa cushions (which they did for me!) Good Luck edited by loube on 20/12/2011
