absolutely START NOW! For the essentials you can sell and tell the Buyer when they can pick up OR put it on the advert. Be prepared to give white goods away...or sell them for very little if you still have them in the last week. There is always TAKE MY JUNK! even though you may not call it junk. I had to give away a 7 seater sofa set and a TV cabinet...on the sofa front there were over 200 sofa sets for sale at under 100 dhs...so if you get an offer take it, as it maybe the best you get! Always remember folks have to pay for a man with a van so that gets factored into whatever they are prepared to pay. Do not start at half price for new things because people will want to knock you down to half of that price...even though you may have the receipts etc to show what you have paid And most of all Good Luck in your new adventure....I lived in Bangkok for 5 years and loved it! Have Fun! edited by loube on 12/06/2013

The weight loss you are mentioning is nothing that couldn't be achieved by portion control and regular exercise. Great that it's working for you, but it's not exactly a miracle. [b'>If this is the case, why are obesity levels rising and why are people finding success with 5:2 where conventional advise has failed?[/b'> It's not a miracle as you rightly point out, but is is effective and part of that seems to be because it is sustainable. You will have people arguing this very same thing with every fad diet. weightloss is a side effect of this way of eating. The original idea was about prolonging life, and by eating less you would improve your body stats (cholesterol levels and can't recall the name of the specific thing) - if you read the panorama documentary starring mr mosley you will understand that. So weightloss is good but the healthbenefits from this diet is what it is all about really.

there are around 22,000 landed properties in Singapore i.e. houses. Expats live in them aswell as locals. The rental market is well established and LL are of a better quality and rental agreements are generally honoured. Find yourself a good realtor, and use them to get your spec. Give budget and all other info. To be frank if your budget is aroudn 10,000 SGD a month you will get a 2/3 bed house in an area miles away from anywhere, you really need to consider your transport options - will you have a car or need public transport? ALOT of people live in apartments, majority of locals do - these are government provided HDB (housing development board) flats. Expats can only take these if they are permanent resident, or Singaporean Citizen (you can convert). Friends of ours struggle to rent 3 bed aprtmebt off Orchard Rd for less than 10k per month, others will tell you different. 15k per mnth will get you a good size 3 bed house in a good, well connected (transport wise) area. Property Guru is the best website I agree to give you an idea, but all the realtors will admit it is not always up to date, and the best realtors know of properties coming on the market Good Luck!

Hi this all sounds a bit messy. Let me explain my situation. When we first rented our villa the LL said he was not 'paying for the a/c'. I took that to mean we pay for servicing/cleaning which is minor maintenance, usually quarterly but half yearly is okay. If anything breaks this is major maintenance and the LL is responsible for the cost of repairs - do not pay in advance yourself, like we did! However IF in the TA there is a clause that you must maintain the ac on a regular basis at your cost and you have signed to accept that, then if you have not stuck to the routine maintenance program then the LL will cry fowl and expect you to pay for any breakdowns. Somehow if you can prove by written report that the a/c breakdown is not due to not servicing the unit then he would be liable. Servicing is cleaning and checking for possible faults - if faults are found the LL has to pay. You pay for the servicing cost, someone to check the condition of the units and clean them. In 2 years of living here I have realised that most TA need to have clear definitions by addendum at the starts of rental as to what constitutes major and minor maintenance. This would make understanding of liability clear and prevent loss of deposit at end of tenancy. I will say right now our LL owes us around 3,500 Dhs for a/c repairs and I had the units serviced when we moved in, the faults all happened in the first 6 months so clearly the LL is duty bound to pay, but I am not sure we will receive the money back. Unfortunately because you did not service the units it will be your cost to get the people in and have the unit assessed, if you do not resolve it now you will lose from your deposit at the end of tenancy and your rights will be weaker than if you try to resolve the issue now. Good Luck!

Not heard of mailme, what is that? I am sure if you are using the Mac's mail program you should be able to sort the inbox messages by date, attachment, name etc to delete them off your MacPro If you are diverting mail from another provider you will not be able to delete mail from the origin on the Mac, you have to go to the origin as well. I have a business email diverted from 1and1 in UK and I have to logon directly to their web based email server to delete the original emails from time to time. If you want to have that direct delete functionality you have to use the iCloud, as that is the Macs version and it streams almost seamlessly.

the issue I believe is that this woman says she was coerced; she was threatened that her kids would be harmed if she didn't do it. now I do not know what her situation was when this threat happened, and why she could not have gone to the police at that stage. Also has she described the people that made her carry the drugs????? some things seem unbelievable really...most people know that this country,Thailand and Singapore are the worst for punishment of this type of crime

you could log on to iCloud through your browser and delete from there. I have just started a bi-annual purge...have over 5000 emails in my inbox - it is taking s long time. I have folders set up for the emails I want to keep, and then I deleted the rest If it is not that, you may need to buy more storage, or you can make an adjustment to the storage setting so you allocate more to mail than other things file>systempreferences>internet&wireless>iCloud>then click on manage storage at bottom of this box. It will tell you where the problem is and you can click through the buy more if needed (always a last resort IMO) Good Luck

as existing tenants the new owner has to take on your current tenancy contract as is, and the deposit should be passed on to the new owner also. If the new owner wants you to vacate they have to give you 12 months notice from end of your tenancy agreement, unless you are on a non renewable contract and then you are open to the whims and wiles of the new owner, including rental increases, number of cheques etc. This happened to us.

Our Buyer is taking a car loan with HSBC, and they will not release his loan element of the price until 4 days AFTER we have transferred registration of the car into the Buyers name. The Buyer is offering 15,000dhs cash, and then we get an LPO from the bank, and final payment from the bank 4 days after they see the registration card in the Buyers name (the actual card) Has anyone else had experience of this? The Buyer is saying he will not take the car until we are paid in full, but then who has liability if we have an accident in it Urgent advice would be most appreciated, thx

We have rented out our home to normal folks, who lost their jobs, sublet and then bought in drug users...the house was trashed and the clean up when we finally got them evicted was over £4000. Never again are we renting. Financial is just as bad, you really do not want to rent your home to people who have a business to operate from home if they are using it as their registered office address. Besides the fact they are meant to put up a sign outside giving the name and rego number of the business operating from there. Serve notice, and serve a warning to your pm company that if they do this again you will serve them notice, and make sure your TA is strongly worded to avoid ambiguity Good Luck! edited by loube on 04/05/2013

We are renting our property out to someone who might potentially be using the address for their business. How can we check that our address is not being used? I looked on Companies House website and it only allows a search per company name or reg no. You have a right as a potential LL to ask them for their business reg number, as you will decide whether you accept them or not only once you have done appropriate background checks edited by loube on 04/05/2013

with my problem with etilsat they opened an elife account in my hubs name, so i was paying mine and this false one, only realised as we never got the bills, when we did they were in arabic, so then i had to take the time to go in and sort it, they cancelled this false account, and transfered some of the money but there is still one payment that they havent sorted out..... 1 year and counting, i need to be in the right frame of mood and have the whole day to go in and "sort it out"... and its for 399dhs so not the end of the world, but its my money and i will get it back, this is not the first time this sort of the thing has happened..... but i know that i have to go into the main office in abu dhabi and....... Nightmare, it is hard to believe how on earth these problems occur! I was once given 2 'free' Du SIM cards when opening our home account which I told them I didn't need but they gave me anyway, I never even opened the boxes and they then started to charge monthly line rental on the 2 numbers! The first I knew was a year later when I was contacted by some kind of debt collector regarding the unpaid bills that I had never been sent. I get the occasional contact regarding my 'debt' and I make yet another complaint to Du and it goes away for a while. Madness. that's a bit of a worry if you ever need to leave to Dubai

I would check WHO website for recommendations. Probably best to be up to date, the usual vaccinations if you live there are HepA, HepB, Typhoid, Rabies, MMR, Meningitus ACWY, Varicella (chickenpox) DTaP polio, and if you plan to travel north to Chiang Mai - Japanese Encephalitus (contracted from **** grazing in paddy fields or something like that) Important to spray mosquito repellant as there is risk of Dengue Fever (Bangkok)

Hi I had 21 piggies until recently (moving) and so I would say hay shoudl be 80% of their diet. The advice I read is 1 cupfull of veggies per day, mixed if you can but not essential. Guinea **** need Vitamin C, so give those high in vit C.Regards the pellets only a large handful per day, not a full bowlful and for one piggy that should be more than enough. My piggies used to eat the bits they liked and leave the rest (grass pellet and oats) and they have their own preference for veg. Loved fresh herbs - parsley, coriander (no chives as from onion family) Lawn is good, they will eat the grass Good Luck!

Hi! Can you tell me the price of each category in Asia Pacific? Unfortunately I am not aware of the current rates. We bought Premier Plus - 66,000 points in 2008, and it was a big investment. Last July we topped up with another 32,000 as the value of the original had fallen, you need more points than the 66k for 2 weeks mid season in Hawaii (that was my plan - not been yet, lol). for the top up we had a better rate due to our existing membership level. Not buying anymore, and I believe they need to expand the properties offerings to allow the Americas properties to be booked also. Never used Interval International, a waste of money IMO, as not many hotels are big enough for my family. We do not always use all our points, but we convert for no fee to Marriott rewards and then we always use those. If you take Premier or Premier Plus you can use points to book cruises, tour guide holidays and the choice is very good, and if you convert to Marriott Reward points you can convert on for airline miles and book other holidays such as Orient Express train holidays. There are some flight/holiday packages too. The main reason we chose to buy was the excellent standard of the rooms, and the fact that where ever we booked we would know the room layout and what the standard of the facilities is like. For Asia Pacific there is also, the club connections resorts, these are good too. We have stayed at Ayana in Bali (lovely) - this is an ex Ritz Carlton property. Tried to get into the one in France near Disney this April but full. Also there is a club connections property in Marbella. If money is no object the sky is the limit. There is an annual service charge, which is due in Jan each year. The value is based on the number of points you have. More you buy more it costs you. I still believe it costs my family less for a vacation each year using Marriott than it would do free range booking. And yes you can book direct, but referral benefits the member who referred you as they get benefits if you buy....and then when you are a member you can refer your own contacts/friends/colleagues

I bought 1 standard size, and 2 specials. Good quality mattresses make and deliver in 7 ish days, but then I am looking for a max 5 year life, and Silentnight give a 5 year warranty on their mattresses Mattresses for DH and i - we have a Sealy Cosmo Orthopaedic (with matching base) and it is the most comfortable mattress I have ever slept on - it is about 30cm deep!! edited by loube on 25/04/2013 edited by loube on 25/04/2013

Hi We are Marriott Vacation Club, Asia Pacific members. Are you seriously interested in buying? This is the first thing you must ask yourself. In Asia Pacific region in return for a free 3 night break in Phuket, you have to attend a 90 minute sales presentation. It was not hard sell in 2008, but it maybe now or in different regions. If you decide to buy you are buying a points allocation. These points will allow you to book a 1,2 or 3 bed apartment, with cooking/laundry facilities at the vacation club properties. There are different category of member, with improving perks for the more points you buy. If you buy top whack you can convert un used points into Marriott reward points whch give you access to all Marriott hotels globally, and their other brands including Ritz Carlton. We are Premier Plus, and joined in 2008. You can arrange finance to cover your investment. You get the entitlement for 50 years, and it can be bequeathed to family members. If you want any more info, or a referral for Phuket then I can assist

you can make voluntary NI payments to make sure you qualify - you also need to have paid for longer than 30 years if you want to claim bereavement pension.. There's a calculator on the Government website that gives you an idea.. http://www.gov.uk/voluntary-national-insurance-contributions/why-pay-voluntary-contributions edited by Pikachu on 01/04/2013 You used to be able to only make vol contributions at class 3 if you live overseas, and this does not give you access to bereavement benefits etc....I did this for 4 years from 2004 - 2009. The rate for contributions at that time was quite low, then overnight almost within a month the rate went from something like £10 a week, to £30 or some such nonsense so I stopped the voluntary contributions. It would be interesting to know if a spouse could use their partners qualifying years to supplement their state pension when the new rules come into force, as you can presently

You now only need thirty years of contributions. You can make back payments etc. best to work out how much this would cost compared to a private pension but it is very scary how much you need in a private pension just to maintain an income of even ten k sterling a year.........state pensions have changed recently.....I would need to look it up but I think it may be a flat rate of £144 a week which goes now where in uk This is incorrect. To qualify for the full new flat rate state pension you will need 35years contributions. It is not helpful to give out incorrect information. The rule is changing in 2017, so presently the rule of 30 years is correct. If you are due to retire before 2017 then you only need 30 yrs, if after (assuming this becomes legal) then it will be 35 yrs. I also read somewhere, probably BBC news, that gov were considering not paying out state pension if you had lived overseas for 10 years or more....I do hope that was speculation
