dear ladies thanks for all your suggestions :) I'm still trying to get a proper answer by DHA about the attestation of sick leave certificates.. DO you know if I can ask to send medical inspection in my staff's house on the same day of absence?? If so, where I should ask for??? TIA TIA TIA Do you mean if the person is ill someone will go round and check if they are legitimately ill? :-)

I would like to send my apologies to everyone for some of the things I wrote on this thread (as you can see I've deleted most) It's not an excuse for my behaviour but I've been bed bound for the last week & have become very bored & very very grumpy and I guess I was venting on here getting personal & taking things that people said personally. I really don't care what other people wear some of the clothes I wear I'm sure people would find questionable. For example my pink timberland boots very warm and very comfortable & great grip in the snow. I'm far from nasty I'm usually a very nice person Again my apologies Hope you all have a great weekend and dottymum have a great trip to Europe. Pink timberlands! I had a blue pair hehe hope you are feeling better soon :-) Thank you louisedvs. mmmm....blue would make a nice change :) I used to live in mine soooo comfy

April04, your judgement is not welcome. I'm here to help and support others! Try doing a Botox search on the internet. You won't find the symptoms I've reported unless you specifically list the symptoms. I've posted my experience to educate and deter those who are considering Botox or have already had it. I live a healthy lifestyle: no alcohol or cigs, healthy eating. I'm not self absorbed or a vain person. Lay off with the judgement. I was prepared to accept the well known risks of eyelid drooping or sagging, but nervous system harm is not well known. In fact, very few specialists and most medical professionals are unaware of the dangers. If they're not aware how are we supposed to know?? I went to one of the most highly regarded clinics in Dubai who specialize with aesthetic procedures. I asked specifically if there were side effects, and the dermatologist reassured me there weren't any serious effects other than superficial facial paralysis that can cause sagging etc. It is a forum and she is entitled to her opinion. If anyone wants to do any form of cosmetic procedure then i agree they should do the research first. If you have it done in the UK then they do go through the side effects etc and just because someone has it done doesn't make them vain or self absorbed. However you are entitled to your opinion :-)

Plenty of mums manage to look after young children while out and about and have done so forever. A friend of mine had 2 year old twin boys and a 4 year old DD. She took them to the local park almost every day and yes, they ran off in different directions too. I looked after my 2 very young children unaided, it's not that difficult. Children will trip up, eat sand, fall off swings etc, these things happen. We can't protect kids from every little bump unfortunately. :) My Mum had 5 ( no family help) and Dad worked away and i dated a guy for 8 years who had custody of his twins As a youngster was always covered in bumps, bruises, nevermind scabs and as for impetigo lol ...People are so lucky they have help.

Or that women are better at sales - I can attest to that! Currently kicking my 2 male colleagues' b*tts when it comes to my annual sales target so perhaps they understand women are better at selling! loool! But it's not a sales role - it is basically an office-bound job drafting proposals. I'm just curious because I'm looking to get back into work but I don't want to set myself up for constant harassment! why do you think you would be constantly harrassed? I have worked in sooo many male dominated environments and to be honest i prefer them Agree - way more politics and b*tchiness / backstabbing working with women. Much better morale / laughs / good banter working on a team of men. If you're really interested in the role why not just apply and if you get called into the interview you can judge for yourself whether you like the cut of their jib! Worked with the British Army for 10 years i would have that job back tomorrow if i could. I worked with the best Males ever!

True - and I would understand if it was a children's activity. However, it is for telecommunications business development. You can't tell me all their clients will be female? Maybe the men in management just want some totty to look at in the office. Whatever their reasons, it's perfectly normal here to be very specific in job adverts. Or that it is male dominated and they want Females to break that

There are hundreds of examples of job discrimination in this country, usually baseless, either requesting specific genders, ages or nationalities for jobs. Personally I find it useful that they are so honest about it, as it stops them wasting everyone's time when they already know exactly what they want. Sometimes the reasons are obvious, other times less so. I wouldn't really question it. The only time I think it's gross is when bachelors on Dubizzle request a female to share their studio! Sometimes for free! :\: Agree, it makes my job alot easier

Hi all, I'm really keen to relocate to Dubai. I'm working as a Personal Assistant in the UK at the moment and would really appreciate any advice on good recruitment agencies or anyone who knows of companies currently recruiting PA's. I have had a look at the jobs listed on here but none seem to match what I am looking for. Also, where is the best place for young (25 - 35 age range) people accommodation wise? Look forward to your suggestions! There are many agencies however i would advise that you visit Dubai and actively look for work as not being in the UAE and finding work without UAE experience is difficult Most people in your age group live at the Marina, JLT, Greens and Downtown

Hi Ladies, I am getting more and more frustrated :( They have UAE in their list, but when you enter the address it gives you an error .... So not cool... Tried Aramex shop and ship, but it is so complicated and pay for this and pay for that... Anyone has done this? TIA I bought a brand new one off Dubizzle. Perhaps have a look on there as it may save you some money. Mine was really cheap and still in the box. Play around with your address on Amazon sometimes it takes a few go's

It is better to call the school, I once called the number on the back of the mini bus and that number was actually driver's number who was driving the mini bus, and said to me sorry madam. I then phone up the school and complained. so not only driving like an ijiot; also answering the phone...... I was at the petrol station last night having the car hoovered and i encountered two of the biggest idiots i have ever met in Dubai Family of 5, 2 kids, Dad, Mum and other Sister. Guys finish vaccuming their car, one child is chucked on the back seat, no seatbelt, no car seat, the other in the centre console in the front. I did say something and was told to mind my own business! My reply to that was you do not deserve to have children. Second incident guy standing yards from the petrol pumps puffing away on a cigarette!!!

The Oman visa costs 50 DHS. If you need a driver there are drivers that charge 150 or 200 per person. There was a thread a few days ago which stated that the renewal of visa in Dubai costs 650 DHS ( or in the region of) and you can only do it once. Hattan/Oman can be done multiple times. Let me know if you need a driver recommended. I thought the visa run to Oman and round was now 200AED it was increased from 50 years ago No it's been reduced again, my OH does it and it's only 50 or 60, but no more than that. That is good to know.. :-)

Reading all your comments, I am so inclined to take an appointment with Ali. I have thick, black wavy hair and desperately need a change. With my kind of hair, should I take an appointment with Ali or Kylie. Whom would you recommend. I desperately need a change in my look but don't want my hair length to be cut too much. Also, what are thier prices like? Please suggest. Thank you. edited by NikitaD on 31/10/2012 Salon Ink has a website with prices on :-) Ali can do any hair. Mine is fine, long and blond, yet my friend who goes there has long, curly hair. She is good with all. Irish hairdressers are amazing and train for a long time we have the same hairdresser :)) explains why we both look so drop dead gorgeous, LOL :D Oh yes! :-)

Attested certificates cost them AED 70 (or thereabouts) each time. My DH has to have one even if he is sick for one day as people were taking advantage in his company. In my office, I insist on them if the sick days are 3 or more and if you are sick on a Thursday or Sunday the weekend is counted as sick days. Harsh but people will take advantage otherwise. They also have to call me within an hour of their start time. I certainly wouldn't accept a certificate from a pharmacy. When I worked in the UK (and I know we aren't in the UK), HR used to keep track of our Friday/Monday sick days and if they were over a certain number we would be marked down on our annual appraisal which directly affected our % pay rise. If you were genuinely ill (with certificates) it was not counted against you. Isnt the labor law that you have to provide one if you are off sick for 2 consecutive work days?

Long shot, but does it perhaps have something to do with the address associated to your account? For instance, I've registered a US address (with my Shop n Ship account) when ordering other bits and pieces from Amazon and it now automatically takes me to .com instead of .co.uk. I had to register mine to a UK address to be able to access the .co.uk website You will need to check where it is registered too

Cerazette and the injection can stop your p but it does depend on you as a person. I would ask your GP. yes will see her today. When i was taking the contraceptive pill they told me not to have my usual 7 day break after 21 days pills and that would stop my p ( which it did)

nieces/nephews and parents - pay for everything (but parents always try to pay for some stuff themselves). Siblings - pay for occasional meal/coffees etc, but if they want to do something touristy they pay themselves. Same for friends. When I go home, siblings/friends don't pay for me nor do they put me up.... Same here
