Anastasia Beverly Hills (Dubai branch) salon, in downtown sells them. It's a full kit for around 300/350 I think.

Marina is good value in sale for the solid wood pieces... My dinning table and chairs from marina...though not solid wood are still going strong in their fourth year where as friends who bought from Home centre are already looking at changing chairs as the legs are shaking. I also had a bed from homecentre which despite of being in the guests room( hardly used) broke just after one year... My sofas also from centre in their 3rd year are already dipping and need a good repair. All in all won't recommend home centre. Marina is on sale ...have a look and u might find something really nice. Marlyn furniture in Karama...:it a big shop on the main road. Always has nice sofa sets.... Have never bought there but he quality looks good. edited by Lovebop26 on 23/07/2014

Children's garden is lovely..:I believe the only one serious about teaching Arabic . Didn't come across any nursery with islamic teaching while I was searching. Blossom is definately a great option. Don't know about blossom In Jumeirah but the blossom in downtown is offering Arabic /French twice a week. My daughter starts there in September after a very very long nursery search!

Don't know if there are any companies to do it here in Dubai but u can certainly do it ur self ...depends on what you want to get done. When my little one was that age I got cabinet locks and finger savers from ikea and had them installed with the help of a carpenter in my building. I also got corner blocks from ikea to cover sharp ends of my dinning table which were eye level for my kid and I was worried she might hurt herself. Other than this there are many other products available in ikea for child safety. There is also a shop on the upper level in Times Square centre. It's next to a play area...can't remember the name but it's the only child safety product shop in there. They have a great variety of child proofing products for every part of the house... Stair blockers, fencing.....etc etc edited by Lovebop26 on 23/07/2014

I've used standard service from Asos and it took 5 weeks to arrive so it could be another 2 weeks before you get it. Lol! Now I'm Thinking I should've just ordered it to my London address! Apparently gets delivered the next day:-)

But asos says that once it gets in the country it gets delivered by courier company...not a regular post man. .....shouldn't be that bad? Also my cousin orders from asos and gets free delivery to Paksitan...her stuff is always on time n never lost.... So I'm hoping Dubai to be the same if not better.::..

I wouldn't recommend Dr Loubser! I took my DD to him for constipation problem. Getting in was easy and he came highly recommended from people but was not help to my DD. Was not able to help in emergencies too...very frustrating. Needless to say I no longer see him.

Lovebop, You don't need to take her to a psychologist, she's only two and half. Like the others have said she's potty trained very early. Mine were around three years old. Don't worry about a bit of regression at this age, it's normal. I tried potty training my youngest around two and half and he wasn't ready so I put him back in pull ups for a few more months. You probably won't want to do that, and if not then I would say don't make an issue of her wetting herself at all. Clean her up and say nothing, give her no reaction good or bad. It'll soon resolve itself and then it'll be onto the next problem ;) I try this most of the time....and it works...but then like everyone else...some days u just loose it all!

Thankyou to all the ladies who have taken out the time to write constructive opinions here. I don't cut her off... I'm just silent for a few minutes to let her know that this act is something her mummy doesn't like. It's not like I throw her out of the house for a few hours or lock her in the room for a few hours. The reason why I thought of getting help is because I heard a few incidents where small and completely normal things that kids do can be signs to deeper problems that need to be delt with. I'm a first time mom and alone...and Some help may help me deal with it better aswell:-) edited by Lovebop26 on 19/05/2014

Sorry, but you think that your toddler DD needs a psychologist because she isn't quite in control of her bladder yet?? She is still a baby! Few tots are in complete control until they are at least 3/4. Both of mine still had the odd accident up until they were about 5. Little ones are so busy exploring their world that they forget to answer the call of nature. You are better off making a big fuss when she is successful and uses the potty than any negative reaction when she wets herself. Unless her urine is dark, cloudy or smelly, you have no need to seek medical advice. :) I'm sorry but I'm Not mad at her... She doesn't one one accident once in a blue moon...as I said every few weeks she goes thru a week or so when she just starts peeing in her pants...she doesn't tell me and no she's not engrossed in something at that particular time....she will Be standing next to me ...saying something and boom...she will pee. I've had those times when she's too engrossed in rhymes and accidentally pees...I'm Never mad at her for those... She doesn't go to a nursery yet so it's only my way of training....

Thankyou ladies for ur responses. I'm not always angry at her...only once in a blue moon when my hands are insanely fullalready ...I assume we all have those days and it's not completly unrelatable. As for early training...her gp and a few more that I've seen say 20-24 months is the best time To start toilet training. Offcourse people can decide when they want to train their child...I found it to be the route of choice and so i did. I have several other friends and family members who have successfully trained kids at this age with no regression episodes... Why I'm worried is because it's continuously happening....how come suddenly one week she completely looses it all? And why does it finish after a week? As for the mess ...she sleeps on a plastic mat under her sheet...and it's not about the mess....It takes 2 minutes to clean up....so that's noty concern.

Hello ladies My daughter is currently 2yrs & 6 months. I toilet trained her when she was almost two & she picked up super fast. Then suddenly she started peeing in her pants...in the past 6/7 months this episode has happens 3-4 time. She gets into this phase where she's going to pee in her pants at least 2-3 times a day.....I would be sitting next to her and she will decide not to tell me...and just pee there and then. I've noticed this lasts for at least a week. I've tired being angry....explaining this is not acceptable, I've tried not making a big deal out of it...just say oops,it's alright and off to the shower....I've tried going silent, not speaking to her and letting her know I don't like this act of hers....ignoring helps her get out faster...everything else does nothing... Right now it's happening again...been going on for 3 days nows...but now I'm getting really worried. I'm not sure if she needs to see a psychologist ...maybe there is something deeper.. On the outside she is a normal child...generally happy..non irritating..happy eater...not messy....I can't seem to figure out why she gets into this phase...what triggers it,..what ends it.... Can any body offer some advice?

They are normally pretty strict about access at Meydan, there will be security guys on every door checking that you have the correct passes, we were there 2 weeks ago and I watched a fairly senior looking local being refused admission to the owners lounge as he didn't have his pass on. That said, there always seems to be lots of kids running around so you might get lucky... we're off there again tonight so will keep an eye out and advise if I see anything. Thanks! That would be great:-) can u advise how early we should go?

My child goes to AKELC. Brilliant nursery and lovely well educated staff. We do not speak arabic at all however my child knows many arabic words already. He points out the names of fruits and vegetables in arabic when we go to the supermarket. I didnt know what he was saying and then found out he was speaking arabic! Classrooms are big and bright. Very clean and well organised. Would highly recommend them if you can get in. Some of their classes are full already. Thanks for the response Asti, they do have space for my daughter. How long has ur son been going there? Are there any down sides to the place...? What other nurseries did u consider before choosing this one?

One more question..it says under 5yrs are not allowed in the premium seating area...are they very strict about it? Or I can possibly get lucky? Also the race is at 6.30 and gates open at 5. How early on should we go?

It's great entertainment if you like horses and horse racing... we go numerous times each year (DH's boss owns a fair number of horses here) Personally I would splash the extra cash and go for the premium seating area, the view from there is excellent, with the finish post clearly visible, you can also go downstairs and outside if you want to be at ground level. Take your guests and enjoy it. Thank you for the info! Would definitely be going!

Lovebop, most schools teach Arabic in Kindergarten or at least the basics. I am not sure but I think childrens garden are bi-lingual in other languages i.e. French and/or German. If you really want your child to learn a language properly/completely the best way is total immersion. Put her into an Arabic speaking school. At KG she would be forced to learn the language while she learns Englis/Urdu at home. It can only help. A friend of mine who spoke only English and German at home was put into an Urdu medium school until grade 2. She can now knock you down with her vocabulary....we speak English, Urdu and German at home I put my daughter into the German school for Pre-school and K1 (in Sharjah) and have recently moved her to KG2 in an English school. She can hold intelligent conversations and has a totally cute German accent. I am not sure about the Agha Khan school but from what I heard they have a low teacher/student ratio which is good but on the other hand they are pretty new.... edited by janatks on 29/01/2014 True that! My brothers son is going to a French school and he's picking up really fast. However my daughter is 2.3yrs. She doesn't start school(kg1) till September 2015. So she will be going to AKELC as a nursery. In children's garden and AKELC the daily routine is carried out in part arabic/French and part English. So my daughter would be learning Urdu at home and English and Arabic in the nursery. I would like to know past/current experiences withAKELC...and suggestions on any other great bilingual nurseries.

Hello ladies I have guests coming ,they have been here before & have done all the usuals. I'm looking for new stuff to do with them. I have come across the World Cup carnival : http://www.dubaicalendar.ae/en/event/events/dubai-world-cup-carnival-2014-7.html Has any one been to it? I'm planing on going on the 6th February race in the general admission area which seems to cost AED25 each and then one can but whatever they want from the food court or the premium seating area which costs AED 50. What I want to know is are these seating areas a good view? Is it a fun atmosphere and a good experience? How busy is it? I've not been & would love to go but just double checking if it's worth taking guests... Thanks:-)

Hello ladies A friend is a construction lawyer who was previously working for a prestigious DIFC firm. She has now started out with her own firm and is having issues breaking into the market..approaching the right firms etc. I'm looking for advice as per . How to reach out to firms...does she need to hire a pr guy/agency Or just show up into the firms office...or do cold calling. Secondly can anyone recommend a PR guy/agency who could help promote a new law firm Or a commission agent who could bring in clients.. Any help/Suggestions from personal experience are welcome! edited by Lovebop26 on 17/06/2013
