I am also moving to Abu DHabi in Aug/Sept time, as I have a job as a teacher over there. Initially my husband will not be working, however he may be looking for work over there, in which case we MAY need a childminder. It would certainly put my mind at ease knowing that my 1yr old son would be being looked after by a registered childminder. If, nearer the time, my husband does want to work, would you be interested in working privately? Maybe thats the way for you to earn a living over there anyway, looking after British expat children, if they don't have such a thing.

Hi there, my husband, 1 yr old and myself are due to move to Abu Dhabi in August as I have been offered a job by ADEC. We are looking for reliable and cost effective methods for shipping out a few small items, ie DVD's, books, toys etc. Can anyone recommend a company that we could use? Thanks.
