The shoes shown in the pic are made by Coega and all the sports shops sell them. They cost about 50 Dhs and are perfect for the beach and pool. I wouldn't recommend any of the sports brand ones as I find them difficult to get on and off small wet feet but these are like socks.

a friend went last week and some of the rides were out of order or broke down while he was in the Q just about to get on. other rides stopped issuing tickets a couple of hours before the park closed. He loves cars but thought that is was a total waste of money (to be honest I'd be worried about the safety of the rides!) and their was no reimbursement or warning before they paid that all of the rides, including the main one, were not operational.

you can get one in IKEA in the childrens section near the bed clothes, works very well. I put it in between an old bed cover and drape if across the bed so it's really easy to whip off in the night and the bed is dry underneath.

Have you checked your drainage pipe. I had the same problem recently with the dishwasher and then the washing machine and it turns out that the drainage pipe was blocked and couldn't cope with the force of the water. In my case the plumber kept telling me the problem was with my dishwasher until I was able to show him the water running down from the pipe in the wall.

it"s ok but no bouncy castle. They have a ball pool for little kids, gamyboy / Wii, drawing etc. it's a nice brunch and if you have little kids the girls will look after them for you.

pass MCC on the right hand side of the main road (Tripoli st changing to Al Rebat St) and go straight following the signs for Business Bay Bridge or Garhoud bridge. 1 straight road takes you to SZR if you follow Garhoud Bridge signs. don't detour to Al Kahil road or Emirates road

the cafe is no longer there (but the empty shop is so who knows what will happen) we have a party room, gym and 2 swimming pools. it is relatively quiet but it depends on where you are located in vicinity to the play area although even with that it's not too bad. the villas are getting on a bit but the manitenance is very good and we have access to plumbers, electricians etc directly from the landlord, infact they are usually in the compound and respond within 5 mins. it's a great place to live if you have kids, they can use their bikes and play football etc. we have very small private garden areas which might be an issue if you want some private space but it is big enough for a BBQ and table and chairs. I've been there for 9 years with no immediate plans to move.

I do know that no new employment visa's are being issued to any Kenyans on a vist visa who have never had an employment visa previously but not aware of any restrictions to Kenyan nationals who are on a residence visa or are transferring to a new visa.

Hi, Al Shafar is in 59th St Mirdiff, on the same side as Uptown Mirdiff. no other real landmarks if you arent familiar with the area. Easily accessible from 71st Street which is one of the main roads signposted from Algeria st (the single main road that runs through the centre of Mirdiff). if he can find his way to 71st St we have a lot of street sign boards on the street corners that can help. It is a large compund of 84 villas and does have Al Shafar Village written on the outside. You can contact the main office on 04 3384455 or e mail [email protected] for better directions.

I live in Al Shafar Village and have a child at DESS. The current rent is 100K for a 3 bedroom. You can usually rent direct from the landlord and if you ask at the security gate they will tell you if any are vacant and let you see them.

I live in Al Shaffar and it's great for kids the ages you have, occasionally can be a bit noisy but not too bad depedndant on where the villa is located linked with the play area. it's a real community and people look out for each other and their kids. the maintenance and swimming pools are great.

Hi Purple, they always go back the day after DESS starts and DESS starts on the 11th. I have their calendar that was issued beofre the summer and it is definately 12th Sept. If someone has been told 13th it may be becuse they aren't attending the full 5 days or to stagger the starting dates of the "newbies"

Your husband can pay a deposit at the immigration office to keep your visa valid. They will give you a document that can be used to process his cancellation. Once his new visa is stamped he goes back to immigration with his visa copy / passport and they update the system and he gets the deposit back. Much better than needing to go for a medical for a new visa.

I believe that they are issued via one central office now and they only issue a certain number of tickets per day and the process takes a few days. a colleague wasn't able to obtain one recently for a business trip as he wasn't there early enough to get a ticket (need to Q from midnight apparently). sorry I don't know any other info apart from the office is located somewhere in Deira.

Thanks for the responses. We've done all the checks at the doctor and all seems to be ok, she's just such a deep sleeper. We're working on lifting her at night and it seems to be working quite well, so I'll keep on with that and see how it goes.

Yes it can be done at the British Embassy, you need to take the original and copy with you and it takes 24 hours.
