Morning Ladies, I'm a freelancer and I'm looking for good medical insurance that is accepted in most clinics and that takes care of all fees besides paying the 50 dhs deductible. I previously had metlife alico which had good coverage but was only accepted in a few places. I asked about daman and was told it costs around 4000 dhs a year. Any ideas as to what the others cost and if they've got better service? Thanks for any help. my husband has his own health insurance brokerage here in Dubai and can help. please post your email address if would like me to put you in touch with him,. xx <em>edited by MallQueen on 01/10/2013</em>

Is anyone going to the Bumps and Babes coffee morning on Thursday? Think I'll give it a try.. I would be up for joining you at bumps and babes but can't do a Sunday or Thursday as my little one is in nursery. If there are groups on a Monday, Tuesday or weds morning I could do that.X

Thanks for sharing your stories ladies. Kiwispiers, your delivery is very inspiring, fingers crossed I get to experience something similar. I ended up with a c-sec last time after 22hours of labour and getting to 8cm. I felt pushed into the epidural and had a similar experience to alowicious, where I was told it was now or never if I wanted one and panicked so agreed to it. I'm hoping this time I will be in more control, I'm not ruling anything out but hopefully second time around I will make the right decision for me rather than being pushed into things. I have an appointment with my ob tomorrow, looking to get more info on how far he lets me go over etc. Good luck with your second pregnancies.

Cilek (I think that is how you spell it),there is one at Ibn baruta mall specialises in kiddies furniture. I can't really answer about your two year as my LO is still in her cot.

Has anybody sent any money to the UK recently? If so, who did you use? We use al ansari every month, regardless of the amount they charge 60dhs transfer fee.

Will laptops, tablets, TV's, Wii console from UK all work in Dubai?? Was thinking of shipping out our beds - would you do that?? All our electrical items we brought over from the uk work fine. Our villa has 3 pin plugs, the same as the uk too. X

http://voices.yahoo.com/the-lie-edd-why-due-date-isnt-you-1958162.html Read this article for insight as to how the timeframe of 40 weeks was coined and some facts to help you not get coerced into being induced before 42 weeks. Interesting article, I was induced with my first at 40+3, this time I'm going to push to be left as long as is safe for us both.

Tara, good to hear of another Dr Josza fan. What type of delivery did you have? I had a cs with my first and desperately want a vbac this time. He seems very pro and is very positive and willing to help me achieve this. Juliana, I'm due early November. How about you? <em>edited by MallQueen on 12/03/2013</em>

Juliana, I'm also pregnant with number two and gave birth at city in 2010. My old ob/gyn has now left city, I've just had my first appointment with dr joza at health bay Polyclinic, he is a man which doesn't bother me but I know it does some people.

Congrats Bex1980, how far gone are you? Dr Eketerina delivered my daughter in 2010, she used to work direct for city but now works out of infinity clinic, but I believe delivers at city and American. A few of my friends have also used Dr Christian Joza at health bay on al wasl (if you don't mind a guy ob). He is meant to be great and both ladies delivered naturally.

DD1 tried the teen Dermalogica range last year - when she was really acne prone - it dried her skin out dreadfully and made everything 10 times worse! Expensive mistake, despite only buying the small travel set. Eek I have just bought the travel set for my 15 year old sister for Christmas. Hopefully it will agree with her skin x

Hi October, body shop have a vitamin e range that is good for young skin or if they are spot prone, you could try their tea tree range. Dermalogica also has a new young range but its quite expensive.

I went this weekend with my daughter who is nearly two. It was ok all the time you were in the water. The floor is hot so I recommend wearing swimming shoes. We had lunch at the Italian opposite the lost chambers (not sure if it is in the entertainer). That made a nice break from the midday sun and went back out around 2.30 and it was great.

My LO is nearly ready to start potty training too... Argh! I've been told once you start it's best to continue. You could try a reward chart and every time she goes she gets a gold star?

we bought it from the apple retail store in regent street. Then it won't have been locked. Apple does not lock any the iPads it sells itself. iPads are generally only SIM-locked if you buy them on a contract directly from a telecoms provider. Since you're getting the device much more cheaply, the telecoms company wants to do its best to ensure that you are forced to stay with them for the full duration of the contract. As has been said, if you want to buy an iPhone in the UK, you need to ensure that you buy it unlocked, which usually costs a lot more money than buying them on contract. You can take the risk of buying a locked one and then trying to get it unlocked back in Dubai, but Apple is making it harder and harder to unlock them, so you may find that you need to wait some time before a working unlock for your phone becomes available - it all depends on what version of the software is on your phone when you get it. This is right, if you are buying direct from apple you will be fine. If you have or are going to purchase the phone through the network providers, you will need to either wait until the contract ends and request for the phone to be unlocked before it is compatible with a UAE sim (I had to do this with vodafone). Or will need to find someone to unlock it like others have mentioned.

Welcome to Dubai. I to went from a busy working life to becoming a stay at home mum. I left Dubai to return to the uk after 4 years. I only managed a year back there and moved back to Dubai. :-) I am now loving being back here and appreciate it even more and love life here. You will definitely feel better once you have got in the swing of things. My LO is only 2 so I'm unsure if I would be any good for playdates with you guys? However, I have met many people just going to play areas out here, and agree with the others that you need to jump in that driving seat and once schools start back you will be dreaming of a quiet day.

Hi Farsi No insurance provider will cover you once you are pregnant and many have a min waiting period of 9-10months. Therefore, if you want to have a baby I would get covered asp. I have used both William Russell and BUPA in the past. Both of which have comprehensive cover. If you google the company's names and state Dubai the relevant contacts should come up. They both specialise in expat medical insurance. Good luck x MallQueen - there are some places that will still cover you even if you're already pregnant but their rates will obviously be a lot higher than usual. I discovered this last year when I fell pregnant and didn't have Wow that's good Jbads, I couldnt find anyone to insure me when I fell pregnant a few years ago, and ended up paying a small fortune for the delivery. It was of course worth it :-) <em>edited by MallQueen on 15/07/2012</em>

I had my braces put on two months ago by Dr Tannaz at the dr Nicholas asp at healthcare city. The total is 8500dhs and monthly installments of 500dhs. I have been really pleased with them so far. Like timtam said there is no fee until you sign with them and agree your treatment plan. <em>edited by MallQueen on 25/06/2012</em>
