Sorry, just wanted to pop on here and let you know that home birth isn't illegal as a couple of posters said. I had a home birth and was able to get the birth cert just fine. I know a few other women who had a homebirth and didn't have trouble getting birth cert either. So, it is a possibility if that's what you want. Midwives aren't able to assist the birth, however, as their license restricts them to their clinic or hospital. So the birth would have to be unassisted.
