I would not recommend going to any used car dealerships except the dealerships (Toyota, Nissan, etc) to buy certified pre-owned. The number of scams here with used cars (they re-set odometers ) is just unbelievable! Someone told me to use a company called expatwheels.com. look them up and call...they do all the search and vetting and check ups on a car for you so at least you have a peace of mind.

which area to you live in if I may ask? I train with a good Canadian PT who trains clients in Mirdif/Garhoud/Nad al sheba area so I can recco her based on your location.

I was told if you take your passport with updated surname and your marriage cert attested - the RTA will change your name to UAE license. good luck.

you could check with american or british embassy as the other person mentioned to see if they can marry you - many embassies here don't. Even if they do, you still need to go through the painful process of attesting your certificate since its issued by foreign government. And getting married in Dubai courts is out of question unless you are both muslim.
