Sorry for the late message entry. Not sure when are you due Desert-Orchid, I hope you have found a suitable hospital. I delivered my son in Al Noor hospital Khalifa st, normal delivery. My doctor was Dr. Imad Majid and he is funny and great. Glad to have found him. During the delivery, I had my husband with me, the doctor and two other nurses (sorry I was not in the right mind to ask what are their position there) and a paeditrician waiting behind the curtain to welcome my baby. Everything was perfect though I have no other experience to compare it with. I would suggest you to see the doctor first, get to know him. If you are not comfy with him, you can always change the doctor. Then ask for a tour to the delivery floor. Al Noor Khalifa st has prenatal courses which i took before and they took us for a tour in the delivery room itself. My second pregnancy i may be delivering in New Medical Ctr which is not my choice (i still want al noor hospital) but my husband's new insurance card only allows me to go to NMC :( sad... edited by marieleanne on 09/10/2012

If you (or hubby) don't mind travelling to AUH to check out this store, you may find what you need here. The store's name is Najo Secret, located at Mina Centre area. Their contact details: Najo Secret Baby & Lady Garments Abu Dhabi - U.A.E Mina Cooperative Society Ground Floor - Opp. 2XL Tel: +971 2 6736622 /6719007 Check out their website najosecret dot com. I don't work for them but I remember visiting this shop when they first opened two years back, I saw the Belly Bandit being sold and good range of sizes for women. I was happy that they had my size of jeans and maternity garments (I am small size). Leanne

Hi Shruti, mabrouk on your second baby. Why don't you sign up for their pre natal classes? Unless they stopped it? I signed up during my first pregnancy. They even brought the mommies and daddies into the delivery room on level 3. Very educational and when the time came, my hubby and i were not panicking not knowing where to go. My doctor was Dr Imad and he is great. Funny too (this is important so the tension was reduced during labour). I did not even know i was dilating. Maybe because I was not sure what kind of pain am i supposed to feel. Hahaha. Yes they do have individual rooms, at least I was given my own room. But my husband was not happy to be sleeping on the small sofa that night. Maybe whoever it is staying over to accompany you should have extra blanket and pillow. They have all facility except if you deliver prematurely. For this case they will ask you to go to Corniche hospital. That is the only hospital with incubators, at least that was the info two years ago. Please ask your doctor all possible questions and i would recommend you attend the pre natal classes. Or you ask the nurses if Karina (the lady who organises the classes) still working there.
