Thanks for the replies. I've tried maids.ae but they don't supply full time live in. I'm waiting to hear from Howdra, hopefully will be soon.

I am looking for some feedback to help with a difficult decision. I was offered school places for both my girls at DAA to start in sep 11 but end of last Week have been offered places form them both at JESS Jumeirah on the basis that my elder daughter aged 10 yrs does ok in the assessment. She is a very shy girl and has very low self confidence which is holding her back academically. I know most people would probably say take the place at JESS if she passes the assessment but I'm just not sure how she will fit in and progress. Does anybody have experience with either school in similar circumstances as I'm just not sure which way to go. TIA

Thanks everyone for your help and ideas. Was looking last night again at the Maldives and can't believe the flight prices! I think I will avoid Seychelles now then. I am not a good flyer at all so was wanting something with a reliatively short flight. We have spent the last 3 years living in Thailand so was looking for something a bit different. Anybody got any other suggestions. TIA.

Ok so after a couple of real disappointments with different Maid Agencies can anybody recommend a good one to come to The Villa Project. I'm beginning to think I may have to throw in the towel and do it myself but hoping that somebody maybe able to advise - please!!!

Interesting to read these posts as my two daughters are starting after summer. It seems that people seem to have different opinions about every school in Dubai. I hope that my girls settle well and enjoy their new school.

We had to wait about 5 days. It took the tanker just over an hour to fill, sorry can't tell you how much it cost as landlord filled it. You need to get a contract with a pool company who will come 3 x weekly to clean and put chemicals in. My husband called IML this evening to let them know that the work they did hasn't fixed our problem, they said they would come tomorrow Inshallah!!! This is second time the pool has been filled. We have been living here since december and have not as yet been able to use the pool!!

After much talk with the landlord that it was his responsibilty to refill he did but I do know it is cheaper to do it by tanker rather than dewa. We did speak with IML the pool contractor here that we had the same problem as most Mazaya villas here and to waterproof it but they were adamant that regrouting was the problem. Unfortunately until you fill the pool you don't know if you are going to have the leaking problem or not. The tankker filled it to just 3 tiles from the top and now it is already at 4 tiles!!!!!

We are living in the villa as well and yesterday had our pool filled for the second time after initial fill it was found to be leaking - a common problem here! They have regrouted but I'm not feeling very confident as they still have not waterproofed it, but I will keep an eye on the level! Good luck.

Hi Natalie8, so sorry to hear of your diagnosis. A year ago I was diagnosed with colorectal cancer. Having not long moved here I would be very interested to hear of your experiences with the American Hospital as only today I made an appointment to go there. I'm sorry I can't help you with the info you are looking for.

I have just moved here from Bangkok, it's called MBK and most of the games are on 4th and 5th floors. There are so many stalls, I wouldn't say that any are better than others, they all have books you can look through and choose.
