Thank you Klumsy78 for the tip! You could also check out Car Zone, supposed to be a subsidiary of Al habtoor motors, located on SZR, where we sold our car recently, it took about 2 weeks for the transactions to be completed but got a reasonable price, compared to the peanuts offered by other dealers.....

No - that's just annoying. When someone says that to me; i just reply AED 10 then, no? They soon come up with a price. Hehehe.....I did suggest AED 2 to get a response!! It didn't work........

Well today's up shot is.........all good!! My chair looks brand new, very impressed. Farhad did a great job. Maybe be a bit more assertive than me before he starts pulling things apart and negotiate a figure if you choose go ahead. Ball park figure around 75 AED a piece of course depending on the difficulty of the job. He was happy with the money for the work he did for me.

Thank you ladies for your recommendation of Farhad to do some carpentry and fix some lamps. I had him here today, he fixed one of the lamps and has taken the broken dining chair away. He is nice and seems to know what he is doing so I am grateful. I only frustration is he won't give me a price on the work, with myself and my DH asking in many different ways he kept coming back with the reply of ' whatever madam wishes to pay'. We know alot is left to that interpretation. What I think is fair maybe too much or too little to him. Can anyone share advice on an average ( if such a thing) for an hourly rate or rate per piece fixed? Any ideas would be of a great help before he lands back on my doorstep with the chair! To clarify, he has rewired a lamp and is glueing a timber headrest on a dining chair. the Thank you in advance!!

I am with you all! Since returning to Dubai last month after holidays, we have not managed to get any water from Masafi...remembering to get it from the supermarket is a drag...and those short necks and cheaper plastic....nasty....I am now an Oasis customer as of yesterday and welcome the efficient and professional service.
