Thanks for that. I'll have a look at both. Do like the sound of uk stylists though. Last year I had a haircut and the hairdresser needed an interpreter, apparently just a trim actually meant getting about 4 inches cut off and loads of short layers cut in!

Where do you buy your bedding? I miss having fitted sheets, we have flat ones and they never seem to stay tucked under. Have trouble finding nice duvet covers for supersize beds as well.

Ha ha I tend to agree, I miss my blue suede and yellow ones even today! Im ever hopeful, think I am more likely to get them in the UK!! : ) I have that exact pair, blue suede with the yellow stripes and wheels!!! My friends bought me them a couple of years ago for my birthday. Not quite had the guts to go out in public with them though!

My favourite is Dexter - blood splatter analyst by day and serial killer by night. Can't wait till the new season starts in Sept! Currently hooked on American Idol! Haven't heard of Bored to Death...but it sounds interesting and will try to download it. I love dexter, only watched up to season 4 though...did not see that coming, such a shocker!! Waiting for season 5 to come out on box set so we can have a dex marathon Minxy-you are my tv kindred spirit! I love Dexter! so good!! I too am waiting, while frothing at the mouth, for season 5. Do you think Dexter is good looking? Sometimes I think he is cute, like "yeah, I would let him buy me a drink. Maybe throw him a bone, chat it up" and then other times he looks terrible? no? I can't decide! I think Deb is hideous! Oh dear god she is awful! And you know whats funny, my friends and I were discussing that all the women on that show fit some exact ugly stereotype about a woman. From Deb, to Rita, to LaGuerta to Lila. All NUTTIER than SQUIRREL TURD! hahahah Lol I think your right, we both have awful taste in tv ha..apart from dexter of course. Do you know he has something about him thats just a bit yum. I don't mind Deb so much even though she is really bizarre looking. Its rita I can't stand. That softly softly whiny voice eee can't stand it Have you also noticed how much she has changed from the first season. I swear evertime a new season came on she would have new boobs done or botox, hair got blonder, tan got deeper. Thay must of been paying her well! He is a sexy guy, there is a yum factor for sure. He has *** appeal. I don't know if you remember, but there were some se* scenes where you see his abs...Those abs are unreal. And Rita-yes! She looks so different. Botox, lips, cheeks been inflated. no wrinkles, blonder, bigger boobs!! Forgot the lips and cheeks implants. So basically she is a blow up doll. Yep remember those abs ;) so to conclude dex is a fitty and do-able ha

SSSHHH please don't tell anyone my deep dark secret. :) Too funny.. sssh used to watch jerry springer too, was such car crash tv...go jerry ...go jerry!

Mt dd is in year 2 as well. 50% sounds about right as long as like fluffy says they are in relation to the time started in school (hi fluff!) I live in festival city, its only about a 15 minute drive. Going against traffic on both pick up and drop off so it works out great. I think area would also depend on where either you or your dh work. Mirdiff wouldn't of worked for us as my dh office is on sheik zayed road so he would hit alot of traffic.

Hi, alisha My dd started there 3 weeks ago. So far so good. She has settled in really well. Was worried how she would be starting a new school as well as moving to a different city but they made her and me feel welcome straight away. Teacher as well as support teachers went out of their way to tell me how she was getting on her first day and looked out for her. Facilities are good, there is a swimming pool in the pipeline but not sure exactly when it will be ready. Overall really happy. Will be happy to answer any questions or concerns you may have. Good luck with your move x edited by minxy on 09/03/2011

This made me laugh, we have 'tea' in our house and if I ever say it in front of others they always look at me like im daft or correct me! Oh and we have dinner at lunch time. Go with the gruel that will teach them to gang up! your obviously a northerner then?! reminds me so much of the Royle Family, that sitcom that used to be on TV. "Hiya Dave, ave ya had ya tea.... what d'ya ave? CORN BEEF HASH"!!! ha ha yep and unfortunately I reckon a few of the family members would give jim royle a run for his money! Freckles you and mr f are obviously much posher than me and mr m if you have dinner, just off to have me scran!

hmmm are you sure she was a good maid? She should be cleaning up all the mess as it comes, not just waiting till the end of the day!! In this respect, mine was good, too bad she was a thief, user and a liar! Oh dear! Not a thief, user or liar thankfully. Great with the kids but not a great housekeeper. Too be honest i was **** as a boss!! Ah well u live and learn. Im planning on a major declutter to get some organisation going. Hopefully that should make everything more manageable.

Hi, moving to dubai from another emirate in a couple of weeks and already have a osn hd showbox and satelite dish. I believe since I'll be moving into an apartment you can't have your own dish, is this right? Does that mean you can only have whatever provider they use? Im having palpitations... eastenders are almost caught up to the xmas and new years episodes...aaargh! Also if I am able to take the showbox does anybody who has moved with it know if the programs i've already got recorded will save? Otherwise im going to be having a few late nights catching up with desperate housewives and glee! Honestly i have just realised how sad my life has become ;) TIA

Coffe sounds good, have another 2 little ones though that would be tagging along! School place confirmed, just need to get the forms in and we're good to go. Should be moving the first week in feb just waiting for company to confirm start day. Maybe we could sort out something with the school runs when I get there. Seems daft for you to be messing with taxis etc when we're going to and from the same place. Its great talking (typing!) to someone who is in the same place, school etc. SQ- So glad we didn't go for dis then. It was the obvious choice being so close. Can't put my finger on why exactly but I just didn't like it.

Hi Clare, thanks so much for your reply. We have decided to go for SIS for pretty much same reasons as you stated. I think my daughter would have found it really overwhelming in a large school and like i said previous it really does have a lovely feel about the place. How long does it take to drive there with the school traffic? Any tips on what time to set off in the morning?? Sorry aberdeenshire girl I didn't realise you had replied. Good luck in the job hunt, not sure I'd want to give up the coffee morning though ;)

We had a look at the marsa plaza and loved it. Would of meant having to add onto our housing though so we didn't go for it in the end. We're losing a garden moving but my dd is very happy to be keeping her bike so def a bonus to badia. Im suprised by the home delivery I thought we'd would have loads of choice being next to the mall. Probably for the best as it would be far too tempting to order out all the time. Think we have maybe a choice of 2 here and thats providing they don't get lost! I've still not been to mcc yet but im sure I'll soon know my way around it. Thanks so much for all the info its much appreciated.

I really was suprised how close it was but it was mainly the worry of being stuck in traffic for a ridiculous amount of time. Whereabouts are you in FC? How do you find it? Im looking forward to having everything relatively on the doorstep even though could be a lil dangerous on the purse!
