AquaPlus is great, I love that it's BPA free. They supplied the cooler in the deal we got and they deliver whenever you want. Go to their website and have a look, it's also delicious water!!

Unfortunately I don't think there is a permanent fix. Depending on what time of day and how hot it is our kitchen drain reeks! It makes me gag because it smells like sewage. We have had drain flushed and I have tried everything but nothing works. I have wondered if it was my building but obviously it's an issue in more. It's so frustrating!

The only thing with general I wld think hard about is not being able to see your baby when it's born straight away. Totally ur decision but it's a magical experience :). I was recommended Dr Braithwaite by a lady at my husbands work, she had just said that she was lovely. I wld def go with her again, she is a very experienced doctor :). She does c-sec all the time so I wouldn't worry. Good luck and congrats again :):):)

I bought the Chicco travel system and love it. My bub falls asleep in the car everytime so it's nice to just click it out of car and click into stroller without waking him. I think he will fit in this until about 9mnths old then we will have to buy a front facing car seat. I bought it from Mumzworld online.

Hi Fairy, I just had my first baby here in Dubai with no family or friends (apart from my hubby) either. I was scared and apprehensive about being in another country during such a huge part of my life. I went to the American Hospital and my gyno was Dr Braithwaite, she is fromEngland and really lovely and funny. She was very accepting of my concerns and addressed them well. All the the midwives are SO lovely, I didn't want to go home! I had so many questions being my first baby and Google became my best friend during the sleepless nights (bad insomnia, heartburn, restless legs etc..the joys of pregnancy). If you need to know anything please email me, I will answer any questions no matter how TMI they are :) Congrats xo mjvdp9@gmail.com

Hi, I had my baby boy 4.5mnths ago at the American Hospital and Dr Braithwaite was my gyno! I was going to have a c-section also, not for medical reasons but because I was scared of natural birth. She was totally professional and has her own querky sense of humour. After going into labour a week before my scheduled csection and having experiencing the contractions for a few hrs I had a 'I am woman hear my roar' moment and had him naturally. If I was going to have csection is was to be spinal (I don't think they do general unless there is a serious reason for it). The spinal doesn't hurt just a bit uncomfortable for a few seconds. She was totally great throughout the birth but to be honest you see the mdwives more than u will see her as she is there for the business and mdwives are there for all the fluffing so to speak. I am more than happy to answer any other questions about birth, hospital etc :)

I honestly think you will find so many ppl feel the same as you in Dubai. It's totally normal to miss your life back home and the close bonds with your friends and family. I have only been here 6mnths and staying for another 3.5yrs and I am very lonely. I had my first baby here and not having anyone to help me (other than my hubby) or join in on the joys has been very hard. I miss my girly chats and hanging out and miss my parents so much...it's really hard as Dubai seems like a hard place to form relationships...not that I've really tried yet as my bub is only 4mnths and I have been house-bound due to the weather and not having a licence...anyhoo I'm rambling now...I hope you feel better and you are just in a temp rut. Good luck :)

Worst ever, don't do it! I ordered a baby monitor a few weeks before my bub was due and he ended up coming early so I had no time to take it out of the box. When I did it didn't work and they would not even respond with a proper answer and basically ignored me. Wasted a lot of money!
