There is a teenage boy in my apartment building in Sharjah who is a complete nuisance. Every evening he hangs around the health club level. He bangs on the women's gym door very hard multiple times and runs away when you open the door. He once banged 6+ times while I was working out and he even went into the women's locker room and banged from that door also!! I lost patience today and told him to not go near there anymore or I would report him. Is there anything I can really do though?? He is maybe 14 and doing this since I moved in nearly two years ago. I don't know his name, which flat he loves in. Can I take a picture to show to security? He should not be doing this, and he never does it to the men's gym (I can hear anytime that other door even opens). So I get the feeling he is only doing it because he thinks he can get away with treating women poorly, and so far has. It's very frustrating, rude, and violated the women's privacy who use the gym. Perhaps he has a mental disability as this doesnt seem like normal behaviour for a person of that age and for 2 years..

Ok, this is a topic you need to take seriously. To say 'she will be ok' is not the right approach. If she has developed an eating disorder you need to get help ASAP or it could be something she will struggle with her whole life. You need to get her to a doctor and then get a referral for specialized care if needed. If her periods have stopped her body is shutting down and there could be life long effects to her reproductive system if not fixed. You need to be very proactive, she will fight you and hate you for it but get her help before its too late!!! Please!

Before moving to Dubai i actually worked in the head office of Emu Australia doing their accounting. Anyone who says they arent worn outside in australia is obviously not from Australia! During winter everyone wears them after a surf etc to keep their cold toes warm.

Hi, I had mine done at the American Hospital with Dr Braithwaite, she is so lovely and British. She also delivered my baby :) I can't remember the cost but I'm sure it wasn't a lot.

I have seen this happen a lot here. Kids running around screaming, throwing food etc and the parents are there taking selfies! My husband and I have been out for dinner with our 2.5yr old quite a lot and if he cracks it we just get the food to go and leave or one of us takes him for a walk until he settles.

We didn't need any certificate or proof of vaccination. Neither of us has been vaccinated for yellow fever. RAK is nice but nothing compared to the Maldives. Seychelles is a gorgeous place to visit but a bit harder to get around with two kids, you will need a car. The Maldives islands are great because there is generally one resort per island so there are no cars, you can just walk around the whole island.

I had some of mine lazered and it was so painful plus it didn't work that well. My best advice would be to get a spray tan or use Sally Hansen spray tan to cover them up a bit.

We have just spent 10 beautiful days in the Maldives with our 2.5yr old son. I highly recommend Holiday Inn Kandooma, it was AMAZING!! Please please do not stay in one of the over water villas, I don't care how obedient your children are..they are NOT safe for children. There are no guard rails or fences between your villa and a straight drop off into the ocean. You could look away for one second and your child could fall in. We stayed in a beach villa and it was great for the three of us but you would need the double story beach house that has two bedrooms. These are quite expensive but looked lovely and would be the right size for the four of you. We chose all inclusive but we like to indulge in the cocktails so it was worth it for us. Kids eat free so if your hubby doesn't drink then maybe it's worth just getting breakfast included..however the food is VERY expensive to buy outright so perhaps it would work out for you.

I dont want to sound rude or judgemental but if you have until March why cant you do exercise and lose the fat naturally? You get to improve your health and prolong your life....why do such an unnatural thing to yourself instead?? Im sorry but it just makes me angry how easily ppl go under tbe knife these days..what message is it sending to the children of today!

Definitely sheets and towels! I miss a lot of Aussie foods like Gravox, Keens curry powder, all Allens lollies..oh I cld make a looong list!! We brought a lot of furniture over with us and regretted it because it's too big for our apartment. We lived in a large double story in Aust and now we are in a 2 bed apartment so things like our dining room table are way too big but we have nowhere to store it. We have been here just over 2yrs and it's a big adjustment, I had a baby here so not having my family around is hard. Like others have said join lots of groups because it gets freaking lonely sometimes!!

My husband had his veins done in the American hospital, extremely successful and he no longer has any visible veins in his legs. I had my spider veins lazered at the vein clinic in Jumeriah and yes it was painful but bareable. I am happy but it didn't take them all away, you have to get it done a few times apparently.

Hello, unfortunately no they don't sell it in Dubai. I used it for my bub when he had some dry patches on his face and had to get my sister to bring me some when she came to visit. You might have to see if someone can bring you over some or I fly home in May for two weeks and can get you some...

It really depends on the restaurant, mall you are in but I have never seen anyone breastfeeding in public. I'm sure some mums do and good on them but sometimes in Dubai you have to be very careful with offending people....the right and wrong sometimes flies out the window here. A lot of restaurants don't have bathrooms and you have to walk to a nearby bathroom which is sometimes inconvenient but I have seen great mum/family rooms in some malls for breastfeeding so they are handy. I fully support breastfeeding in public- just thought I would throw that in :)

Hi Ace630, did you have a look in the Downtown area near Dubai Mall? Nice green areas to walk to, indoor play centers plus the Aquarium in the Mall to visit with your son and of course great shopping. I live Downtown with my 18mnth old son and don't drive or work (hubby works and drives) and I have always got something to do or see and keep my son amused. We live in a two bed apartment 8min walk from the Mall and we pay 137000. Good Luck with your move :)

Seriously people give the poor lady a break! Why on earth would you treat someone with such disrespect and utter rudeness? If this was fake as you have convinced yourselves it is, what would be the point of it? What do you think the 'real' personal is trying to do? Tessa, go for it and enjoy everything Dubai has to offer!

If you have a maid during the week what cleaning would need to be done on the weekend? Stop doing it, then spend more time doing fun stuff with your husband and kids..life is too short to stay at home cleaning non existent dirt..

Dr Madhu is my dentist, and I love him and the staff. Everyone is very kind and friendly and willing to accommodate. If I have an emergency I call or email him personally and they make an appointment for me. I recommend going to see him and he does not charge the earth for his work. He has done two root canals and given me four crowns so far and I couldn't be happier. The directions the other girls gave you are spot on and if you get lost just call the clinic and they will direct you.

Sorry you are feeling so ****, I think personally what made me feel terrible when first getting here was just being so overwhelmed with the move. Depression and anxiety can come in many forms and effect you in different ways. I also struggled with the heat but you do get used to it trust me. Have you any friends or family here or it is just you and your partner? Maybe see of you can join a group and find a workout buddy so you can motivate each other.

Things are heaps cheaper in Australia, I wouldn't take anything from Dubai! Clothes, shoes, linen, furniture, appliances etc etc etc all cheaper. Target, Kmart, Big W are just some of the many places you could go.

If it were my child I would say no, only because regardless if you trust your son do you trust everyone else that will be there? Do you know everyone else that will be there? If none of the other parents know their children are going are you willing to admit you knew about it if something goes terribly wrong? If your child is over 18 then it's his call I guess but I'm not sure I would want my child to be in a group where there were under age kids secretly running away for the night when their parents think they are elsewhere. That's my opinion and of course I'm sure others with have theirs, I'm sure u will make the right decision.

HI Victoria, my husband also works in the DIFC and we live Downtown in the Burj Al Nujoom next to Burj Views. There is no community feel here but I would suggest Oldtown in Al Manzil. I love being able to walk to the Mall and there are so many big green areas for my little boy to play in. My hubby loves the short drive to and from work.

Hi, we had the same issue and we looked everywhere and finally found one in Carrefour. As mentioned by other posted it wasn't on display and is Bompani brand. It's a pain in the bum though because it really doesn't fit that much and to connect it we have to run a tube into the drain in the kitchen floor for the drainage and when u open the drain cover it fills the apartment with drain smell that makes u feel like being sick. We just hand wash the dishes now and are moving apartments next year haha.

Oh and everytime your package gets sent back to ASOS you have to completely reorder all your items and the things you chose are sometimes out of stock now...it's sooooo frustrating! I always enter 0000 as the postcode in Dubai fyi

I tried four times to get a package from ASOS delivered to my apartment but the postal service is so rubbish here they just kept sending it back to ASOS without even trying to deliver to me. They only like delivering to PO Boxes so if u have a work PO box or someone you know does I suggest you use that, I ended up using my husbands work Po box and finally got it after waiting two mnthsof back and forward communication.
