Just to add: black-out material is not black per se; it comes in different colours so you can get a colour which isn't going to detract from the theme of the curtains eg white or cream. It's just the thickness of the material which = the percentage of black-out capabilities. ;) Thanks for clarifying :$ Would you know any particular shop name in Satwa for this and/or directions?

I bought beige blackout blinds from Ikea. There were white ones and grey ones too. It works wonderfully. Dont even know when the sun is out unless you open the blinds. What kind are these? The roller ones I assume. The window is made a bit weird. It has three glass panes top to bottom with metal in between and then its divided into half making it six seperate glass sections. In this case im not sure how the roller ones wud work.

Just to acknowledge that someone found something useful. If 'like' is too facebooky perhaps a number showing these many ppl found this post useful... Of course the best thing is to thank the person yourself but sometimes u search something which comes up on an old thread on others conversations so wud be nice to let the person know that their post was found useful. Was just a thought. All kool this way too :)

I faced the same issue. DD is very comfortable in her stroller and I didnt want to check it in before reaching the plane entrance. At first I thought to buy a cheap travel stroller so I wont have to worry about damage to the elea and can later dispose it. So u can look into this option. I was goin for weeks and just wanted to take the one DD is used to so this is what i did i bought bubble wrap from carrefour and cut it in a sqaure big enuff to wrap the stroller when closed, folded it and put it in the stroller basket below. In addition I kept with it a roll of thick paper tape as you dont need scissors for it. At the entrance of the plane towards the the side they are collevting strollers i wrapped it before giving it in. I saved the same wrap for the return trip :) and did the same while coming back to dxb. No damage done! edited by mks on 12/04/2013

10 months. I love it when they drop naps, it gives far more flexibility to the day. So true about the flexibility.. Im having a tough time with figuring the naps out so just wondering when it turns into one solid nap.. Good to hear everyone's experiences. LO was having 2 1hr naps and was doing well and has all of a sudden started doing three 40ish min naps instead and I feel shes tired this way and not in as good a mood as she used to be..and I can't sort it back to 2 naps so I started thinking about when will it be 1 simple and solid nap..guess got carried away. Any tips?

Thanks ladies for all the ideas. I just bought a rug to use for this purpose as I can keep using it later rather than the baby specific mats. Carrefour has promotions on rugs for anyone interested :)

Hi JPS1. My husband has suffered from migraines for 10+ years. He saw many doctors and tried many meds. Nothing helped and he always ended up at the clinic for a pain killer injection as many as three to four times a month. Recently he was told to try ponstan forte and although its only been three months it has worked so far. The minute he feels an upcoming attack he takes 2. The key is to have it as soon as you feel it coming so we keep it everywhere (home, car, office, laptop bag and diaper bag). You might wanna give it a try. Hope it helps!

Hi I delivered last year in July. Similar to you I switched doctors in between. There was a waiting list with Dr Elsa and they told me they can accomodate me at the end of June which seemed too late to me. I really liked my reg doc at the clinic I was going monthly but she was delivering only at welcare hospital which was too far for me so I explained to her that City was my choice and if she could refer me. From her reference I was accomodated with Dr Elsa by the next monthly appointment. Point being..Maybe you could check with your doctor and if ur lucky she would know dr Elsa and can refer you. Dr Elsa was very nice in the first appointment with her but by the second appointment with me at 8 months she suggested the possibilty of an induction 1 week before expected due date as baby 'seems heavy' and may have for her educated reasons but I had a hard time trusting it when I found out from receptionist that she was going to be on leave three weeks in July starting leave one day before my expected due date. Needless to say I switched yet again and delivered 9 days past my due date to a lovely healthy 3.5 kg baby girl without an induction. In other words if it matters to you for your doc to be around at delivery do find out her vacation schedule. Wishing you a healthy pregnancy! edited by mks on 26/02/2013

Hi Sal, Just a few thoughts. 1- Are you sure its the formula shes resisting and not the bottle? Does she take bottle for something other than formula? 2- Once its established that she is okay with the bottle (taking water or EBM) you can try a few different formulas Or you could mix EBM three parts to 1 part formula and continue for say 3 days..once shes adjusted to the taste well, try to mix half EBM and half formula and slowly reduce till it is all formula. BF is hard work and you have done it for 9 MONTHS! HATS OFF TO YOU!

You can try Dr suzan at dubai mall clinic. Also for those using lyrica, did you happen to use it while BF a baby? Was it okay on their stomacb etc and general well being?

I had the same issue with my daughter and tried many different bottles. The one that worked was NUK. There is two kinds one is a standard size the other is a shorter wider bottle (the teat base is bigger).. the one that worked for my exclusively BF baby is the first one. If you haven't already tried it do give it a try. Also try water or herbal tea to see if she wud take something other than milk with the teat and then move onto milk. Hope it sorts out!
