Thanks Maxmistry! thats great advice - so do you pre cook cubes of fish etc and then take them out and mix with various veg? I think i may just try the annabel karmel recipes and leave out the milk/cheese and hope its still as tasty for him ?

Hi there, i started my lo at hummingbird in DIFC when he was around 7-8mnths. i am lucky enough though to have both a nanny and the nursery option. I love him being downstairs and i do pop it quite a bit (perhaps too much for their liking!) i put him in 2-3 times a week. He did however get sick alot - nothing serious just tonnes of sniffles. and thats when i needed my nanny. the nursery has done wonders for his personality - hes very outgoing and social and he loves it.

Thanks Big Blue :) just took to Dr to make sure its nothing serious. he seems to think it could be the reminants of HFM that he had a couple of weeks ago - so fingers crossed! you wouldnt think theres anything wriong with him during the day - looking at how chirpy he is thank goodness. the biggest issue is - all the sleep training has gone down the pan - he now expects to be carried to sleep - and im too scared to be tough in case his throat hurts :s

When he gets to nursery age, agree - outdoors defo needed!

oh really big blue? are you moving your child because you are unhappy there? kiwispers - no they look more like blisters than this - typical HFM on his face - altho on his body just a very faint rash. am very lucky nothing in mouth! how concerned should i be that he caught this at the nursery? the doctor told me it was pretty common

Hi Big Blue - mine has gotten a big rash - but i actually thought it was hand foot mouth disease which would explain all the other symptoms (sore throat and high temperature) also - received an email from the daycare that there had been a couple of reported cases :( thankfully nothing in his mouth yet

morning ladies - perhaps i hsould have said that i use the aptamil readymade cartons? rather than the powder. aptamil 2 is for hungry baby - aptamil 3 is the follow on milk. may not be the same in the powder? Todays food menu is purely fruit and veg (with dolops of prune puree mixed) (minus apples and bananas which i have been steering well away from) Ive started giving water through a dropper and it seems to be going well. he doesnt seem to mind the water as much as drinking it. I havent found the perfect sippy cup yet :( will try to get to organics store to buy some probiotics today Fingers crossed!

That's the one cleo4e - dawnventuras was amazing!! Really recommend. The Australian Swim school which came recommended on this site was one of the classes I didn't like - seems they don't actually have any Australian swim teachers only coordinators!

phew - thanks ladies - such a comfort! so yesterday i fed him zucchini and apricot puree (not mixed lol!) and ive also given him water which ive boiled with prunes (so effectively like a prune juice) and nothing!! the night before he cried while he poo'ed the poor little guy :( its so heartbreaking to see...the doctor says its a combination of ive just started formula almost completely now and the introduction of solids. Ive stopped all babyrice/porridge etc. And i stopped apple as i very stupidly had thought it would help! apparently apple juice is very good too but im resisting for the time being as i dont want to throw too many things at him at once. Anyone tried prune puree? i cant find any fresh ones at the moment though :(

Supplements- make sure you are taking folic acid and prenatal DHA - as its very important for baby and your brain :) I used all the mamamio products (from blossom and from destination maternity) - and i still do. I also loved the elemis pregnancy oil and the clarins. i HATED the biooil which many love... so you need to try and test yourself... Undewear - i continued with same bras (wireless) just larger sizes til the end. CLothes was tough. I ordered alot from topshop and asos. Couldnt find any good aps for whilst pregnant - however i LOVED babyconnect for after baby was born! Good luck! try to relax and enjoy. Swim and be active! It will be over before you know it! :)

So today, self settled at 645pm and woke up howling at 8pm. I carry him he falls asleep, I put him down he howls. So have been letting him howl :( and keep rubbing his tummy, leaving room for 3mins, going back in to rub his tummy. Carried a couple of times and he sleeps instantly (one way of telling nothing really wrong a nurse once told me!) Few quite sniffles now on monitor but hopefully quietening down (fingers crossed!!!) soooo hard :(

i knowww - one thing ive learnt since becoming a mum is NEVER JUDGE! its so easy to know what the right thing to do is - but sometimes when you're exhausted - its so easy to take the quicker option (i used to just pull out the boob lol would knock him out in seconds !) but i agree - i think a big part could be that hes overtired at night - but i cant seem to get him to go down for a quick nap at 4ish - no matter what i do - walks/car/bed etc....will try your way tomorrow Mrsg1- heres hoping

thanks for your quick responses ladies. he starts off moaning asleep so we put the dummy in etc but it just seems to intensify until hes carried. I keep feeling maybe hes getting used to being carried in the middle of the night - and im just too exhausted to let him cry it out :( I suppose yes, it could be that the teeth should be emerging soon as he is approaching 6months. Its so hard to tell because he has had the symptoms for months (drooling/chewing his finger and everything else in sight lol) have his vaccines coming up will check with his doc. The reason why i give him the long nap in the morning - is because it seems to be the only time he wants a long one - i actually usually end up waking him. You think i should wake him earlier and see if he sleeps later in the afternoon?
