I saw them at Pastels, Al Wasl, but didn't take note of size. What about Nazih? http://nazih.com/retail/index.php?country=United+Arab+Emirates&city=Dubai

I don't think they are available in Dubai yet - happy to be corrected though. I have seen Emus here at the malls but they're not cheap. Hope others can answer the Outlet Mall question!

Not sure if you mean on computer, tablet, smart tv, or some other device, but if you google "record live stream", you will get many options of programs that do this. Thank you!

I had the same dilemma and one of the online shops told me to type "0000" when a postcode is compulsory and it will go through. It has worked for other online purchases.

Thanks Mom It s really hard one. I m trying hard to get things sort out this week. edited by Coco14 on 25/08/2014 I understand, it's stressful but things will fall into place. Start with the Y10 first, Lolacat's list is a really good start: DESC, JESS Arabian Ranches, Dubai College, English College, Dubai British School, Jumeirah College. JESS Ranches - note their Sixth Form is IB. Also the school/working week in Dubai is Sunday to Thursday. Come back to the Forum when you need more help. Good luck.

I think for the younger children you can keep looking till you’re offered a place at the school you think is most suitable. However the tricky one will be your son starting Y10 and GCSEs. He will have selected his options for his current school in the UK so I'm sure you're aware that different schools may/will have selected different exam boards even if they’re for the same subject. Or, if they are the same exam board, they may have selected different units of study. Some schools will take a new Y10 student a few weeks into a new school year during the "grace period", the time given to their existing students to change their minds about a subject choice. Once you go pass that period, it starts to get tricky unless the options your son has chosen and the exam boards match the new school's. I have friends whose children had to repeat Y10 when they moved during GCSE studies. The other thing to bear in mind is choosing GCSE options at his new school in Dubai – some subjects may be full and/or there may be a timetabling issue and he ends up settling for his 2nd or 3rd preference. Best to confirm what the policies are when you speak to the schools about places. Their websites should have a list of option blocks. If not, they can email you a copy. I think new arrivals to Dubai can start school at any time of the year - but hopefully other members can confirm this.

Hi. I don't know anything about WSO, so sorry can't help. Hopefully others can. Lolacat's list is a really good place to start. Expat Woman also has a list of schools in Dubai including contact detailsi: http://www.expatwoman.com/dubai/monthly_faqs_school_fees_6135.aspxart Finding the "right" school at this time of the year may be tricky so it's worth calling the schools asap so that you'll know where you stand especially for your Y10 (not sure if all the offices are open). Some of them will require an entrance test so it could take more time than anticipated. Hopefully there may be the reverse situation with a family from Dubai leaving at short notice and creating a place for the year groups you're looking at. Good luck!

The first time I went to my current stylist she offered not to charge for a blow dry because of the length (very short, not necessary) and continues not to charge for it - very refreshing gesture. At my previous salon, I was charged 140.

Thanks so much for all the replies! Have booked with Girl Talk as they're the ones who called me back first :) Hot Wax is amazing for bikini area waxes. I've had it done for years and it really is less painful, but to be honest, that's also testament to how great my therapist is. When I used to have it done in England, yes it was less painful than warm wax (yes, the 'strip' kind of wax is really called warm wax), but it still blimmin' hurt because her technique was a bit off :-/ Sine I moved to Dubai and get it done here, I cannot believe the difference in technique and therefore pain reduction. Would love to try this and would be interested after your Friday appointment who you think is "better" Girl Talk or Pastels - thanks.

Girls Talk in Jumeirah Plaza one of the best for waxing and uses the wax you talk about. This sounds good - do you recommend anyone in particular? Thanks.

Last year I bought Ecco shoes for my DD, expensive but lasted the whole year and still looked good. I have bought Ecco again this year. I bought them in the Outlet Mall, AED 299 and when I walked past the shop in Festival Centre the same ones were AED 409. We usually buy Clark's or Ecco. Agree with Ladybirdsarethebest, Ecco shoes are expensive but lasted the whole year.

It's a no brainer! Stay where you are, you would be completely mad to give up what you have and TBH unless your son and DD could get into DC forget it. Stay where you are and just come out during the holidays, do not up route your son in these critical educational years, be the worst mistake you ever make. Agree! Agree 10 times over! Its a really hard age to move the kids - Dubai is a notoriously unfriendly environment for people to settle into quickly, and the kids have already said they don't want to move. Not only could it hinder their educational development, should they not settle in well, it could cause issues between you and the kids which is the last thing you want/need. Good luck with your decision! Agree.

I get a lot of promotions from Etisalat on my pre-pay phone. eg pay 50 dhs to the uk and get 250 mins free. I've never thought about them, so have not double checked with Etisalat. Are they genuine?
