I would say DON'T and here is an experience from some years ago: a single lady neighbour in the flat above mine had a live-in boyfriend (lady Moroccan boyfriend Sudanese). One early morning - slightly before 5am - she had some kind of seizure and an ambulance was called in. Came with two paramedics and two police officers - male and female, I noticed the ambulance when I arrived from work (I worked night shift at Dubai airport). It was a small block with just four flats and I could hear the activity was from flat above so I went to check on my neighbour. The lady had been stabilized, was on transquilizers and they felt that she would be fine and no need to take her to hospital. . Only the female policeman was allowed in the bedroom as the paramedics worked on her coz I found the boyfriend and male police officer on the corridor leading the the living room. I introduced myself as the neighbour. The male policeman snooped around the rest of house and when all was calm, he asked the lady's boyfriend if he lived there. He had the quick mind to say she called him when the seizures started. Luckily the love birds were sober that day. I promised to stay with her till she came around and would call if anything. I was allowed into the bedroom but before they left, the lady policewoman asked me if the lady lived alone and I said yes. She never allowed a soul into her flat after that incident.

Is there ANYWHERE in Dubai that sells Boric Acid? I've tried Life Pharmacy the representative advised that it's not available anywhere in Dubai. Hoping this isn't true ? Try Choitrams

Sorry to hear about your predicament. It could be anything from allergy to detergent, food or cosmetics (this varies from lotion, to shampoo to perfume). In the absence of proper allergy tests, I would eliminate anything that you did not use prior to coming here one by one to figure out which one it could be. And your medical does not interfere with this in any way. Good luck.

Hi ladies, just a quick one. I was wondering if anybody knows a sort of high class/high quality black hair salon or stylist in Dubai? Also, where do you usually get your brazillian/malaysian/peruvian hair extensions from in Dubai or are you forced to get it abroad? Thanks! There are loads of stores selling human hair - Karkafi, Hatem and dozens in Deira. Some salons also stock human hair - try Salama Afro Ladies Salon (google them) Online wigs try Sheer Lace Dubai All the best!

Sorry to hear about your son's headaches. I suggest you check if his head aches are FOOD related. Food additives, night shades, some nuts, cheeses etc cause headaches for some. Just do a list and see if anything on the headache times/days may be the culprit. Wish you well.

CX is a great airline. On the issue of pilots - all airlines offer exemplary training as per IATA. Bad weather, Bermuda triangle, mechanical mishaps, do not know cockpit crew nationality. Have a pleasant flight.

I've asked this question before and I was laughed off the forum. It is a serious question, though. I believe that Indian mutton means goat... I don't know about the other types of mutton though... True that I ask because my guest is allergic to goat meat. I am Pescetarian and never visit the meat section.

Hi! I have very thick, curly hair that I want to get chemically straightened, but I can't seem to find a salon here that offers the right treatment for it. I've tried keratine before and it DOES NOT WORK for my hair type. I know they offer it everywhere but I'm looking for something a lot stronger and a little more permanent.I'd like to do the Japanese straightening, since I've done that before succesfully, but as I'm really desperate, I'd appreciate any suggestions for good women's salons in Dubai or Abu Dhabi. I went to one of the hair salons in the Dubai Mall and they had Loreal straightening. I've looked it up but I can't find much about it. I'm keepin that as a last resort but I'd really like to ask around first. Try an Afro hair salon - they will have products for afro n mixed hair.

Do not trust any salon with your health. That is your responsibility! Carry your own equipment. Do not be fooled by the aesthetics - white/clean is not equal to sterile! http://www.americanownews.com/story/19147192/mani-pedi-infections

I too suffered ALL your symptoms and tried every doctor and trick in town from treadmill to 24hr heart monitor. Was always told..strong heart. Turned out the problem is an allergy to salicylic acid. That means no aspirin, aloe vera, species of any kind, strawberries, grapes, tea, coffee and a load of many other plants, cosmetics and medications that contain even the smallest dose. Check out the salicylates sensitivity forum online and best of luck. edited by Moneybag on 20/07/2013

I to have worried what will happen to DH and I in old age without children. If my in laws family is anything to go by having children is no guarantee that they will be there later in life. They have two children and 5 grandchildren they don't speak to. I have now come to the conclusion that my happiness in later life is down to me and will follow the example of my elderly parents who have very active full lives. Also, I would not wish to rely on children/grand children for comfort and company in later life. I feel that my happiness is down to me and how I live my life and not by the thought that one day I may need company from children/grandchildren. Spoken like a true sage!

I've been reading this thread with great interest and am sad to say, that I have never had these feelings of craving the need to have children - I've just never been very maternal. I've been through phases of 'maybe' but it always comes back to 'nope, not for me'. DH already has two children, who are teenagers - which I'm quite thankful for as we can do 'cool' stuff. I do envy those of you who want children and will do anything to have them, but it's not for every woman. And I really do feel sad at saying this. Mid forties, no children, husband nor the need to have both. No regrets..not all of us were made to multiply and fill the earth. LOL!

Contact the protocol office of the person visiting. It's a large event with many delegates - that would mean contacting dozens of offices. And this is an event outside the GCC and Asia.

Can anyone recommend a good over-the-counter gel/cream/wash for acne? I would ideally like to start treatment asap and not have to go to a dermatologist. Thanks in advance. Sounds to me like you may have salicylates sensitivity in which case tea tree, clearasil, retin A, pro-Acive and 99% of acne products will make it worse. Settle of 100% transparent glycerine soap (find it in Spinney's - waitrose brand) and apply good old glycerine, liquid parrafin or soya oil. Avoid anything fragranced/scented and do not fall for the word 'hypoallergenic'

The OP specifically asks for HYGIENIC nail store and most of the replies dwell on customer service and how white the staff uniforms are! I can only tell you to walk into any salon or nail spa and ask to see how they sterilise their equipment or simply bring your own. I much prefer to use a place that does one to two mani-pedis a day, than the mass places. In the first choice, you can be assured they sterilise well enough between clients. Mani-pedicures are unfortunately the most dangerous services in terms of infections spread. I am talking the visible fungi, bacterial infections and the often invisible and under diagnosed infections that may enter your bloodstream. Dont's Never shave your legs the day you are going to get a pedicure either, because you can get micro-nicks in your skin from shaving and fungus can get into your skin. Never allow them to cut your cuticles Foot razors are dangerous and banned in some countries A simple test is to find a manicurist who requests that you wash your hands before she removes the nail polish or even starts filing.. Avoid E-coli..and yes that too can come from your freshly done hand nails! Stay beautiful and safe!

You could be suffering from two very under-diagnosed conditions which both manifest in the skin. One is salicylates sensitivity and gluten. Check the salicylate sensitivity forum online. To begin with avoid all gluten, use baking soda to brush your teeth (most pastes contain mint, aloe which are high in salicylates), wash your face with dal or moong bean powder (Lulus Barsha and apply a little liquid paraffin if too dry. For a toner, I use Ethyl alcohol solution easily available in pharmacy or hibiscus or rooibos tea All the best and quick recovery

Looks like we need our own forum..I am 45, single, no children, never married, no pets or boyfriend either. I'm I abnormal?..if travelling any time I want, leaving my shoes at the door, sleeping with my lights on, going to the cinema solo is abnormal then I am comfortable with the tag. and ooh just coz I am single does not mean I am available or not 'settled down' whatever that means Table for two Madam? No..just me Not criticising or having a go; just asking, do you actually enjoy doing things by yourself thou? No offence at all and the answer is YES I DO and honestly even if I was married I would still do some of these things solo.. I have never felt the urge to pro-create. Nothing against children but I get bored stiff around them. One hour and I want to exit.
