Emma - your baby is still very little, can I respectfully suggest you do some research on the importance of sleep for little ones? Up until the 8 week mark they often are awake during the day( your very lucky that he/she sleeps through) - but at around this time, most people would say you should be trying to establish 3 naps of a good length during the day. Babies at this stage are growing and developing very quickly, and they need to have sleep for this. I am not sure if you want a book recommendation or not, don't want to sound preachy ;) Anyway not to put a damper on you doing socializing, it is really important as new motherhood can be very isolating. I know several people who have found buggy fit great - they run it at the lakes club, and maybe other places.....

Hi - we moved to the lakes in Jan - and love it. It was diabolical trying to find a place though, plenty to rent, but getting in touch with the right people really hard. Anyway, finally we got hold (purely by accident) an agent called Hana - I think she basically only does the lakes - she was able to show us, lots of properties....may have ended up overpaying though, so I would say negotiate harder than we did(mind you we were under considerable time pressure). If you want her contact details email me at Mrslaughan at gmail dot com The other person is "cornish pixie" on this site - I think she may operate in the area. Just be aware of Dubizzle - we wasted alot of time on there (but it is how we eventually found Hana), lots of agents post places, but they don't have access to them, or they have already been let, they say they have to get back to you, or that they agree to meet you somewhere, like the lakes club to take to to see their "listing", and when you get there tell you that they have just found out it has gone, but I have something else to show you...but it doesn't necessarily meet your specifications...... Hamptons are meant to be the exclusive agent, but they are useless in my experience. And I would think you should easily be able to get a 3-4 bed for $200K

Ok - first thing, I am not a medical professional, so your dr's advise is more important than my experience. I had libel blood pressure in the 3rd trimester with DD. My OB got me to monitor my blood pressure at home, 3-4 times a day, and was to call if it went over 140 or 90.... It did a couple of times, and I just went in and got fully checked out. A couple of times had to spend the afternoon hooked up t o monitoring machines at american hospital monitoring DD and my blood pressure. At home blood pressure meters tend to measure high, so there was a bit of leeway with the 140 ad 90. I also had to watch my salt intake, get a bit of gentle exercise, make sure I didn't put on to much weight. I was induced at the end - at 39 weeks, but reall I had felt **** for so long- that was a relief!

OK - I am calling on you ladies with a lot of cat experience. We took Jojo in, he is a lovely cat to us, but horrible to our cat. He has been with us for about 3 months, and just when we think things are sorting itself out, Jojo has a massive go at our existing cat. I spend my life keeping them apart. In the last couple of days Jojo has been spending more time outside, and I suspect it is to try and see our other cat off from the outside, as he gets sprayed with water if he tries it inside. Our other cat has messed inside 2 times in the last week, rather than use the dirt box (we try and keep them both inside at night, but separated.) When I sent DH the link to find Jojo another home, he was really upset, basically b/c he is such a nice cat, and chances of finding him another home seem pretty slim, and I don't want to consider the other option. Anyway DH being upset got me to thinking, have we investigated all options? I did joke with DH that maybe we should get Jojo de-clawed, but this seems inhumane and also he is much bigger than our other cat, so would probably still bully him (Last fight he was actually standing on top of Max - never seen anything like it)... But is there kitty-prozac (or ANYTHING)that would make him less agressive? I thought I would ask here rather than go in and make a fool of myself at the vets........ Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated......

Really - on used items? it sounds like GST is being applied? and if it's not new it shouldn't incurr GST? mind you, NZ has some strange laws, that really sting expats returning home, like being taxed on oversea's income for the current tax year, when you return permanently...very nasty piece of tax legislation....

Which model do you have - sounds like either the drain is blocked, or it is not sealing properly. Hopefully they can fix it without taking it away.

Cetaphil cleansing lotion - it's moisturising and cleansing. If you are going to the states - there Kheils does a post swimming cleaner, i used to put it in a bottle and spray DS (he had terrible eczema) with it in the shower (made it more cost effective), but it is not available here :(

You don't say whether you want a villa, or apartment. If you want a villa, you could look at the springs, meadows, and lakes. Apartments you could look at the marina area. Wellington international just got out standing in there KDHA report, and is handy to all those locations. It is British curriculum and then at college age offers IB. Because it is regarded as a very good school you may struggle to get a place... But your kids are older, so you may be lucky. I would be on the phone to them today organizing a tour and getting them on the list. Other options are DBS - which I think parents tend to be happy with and DAA which is very average. There are probably other schools too... The other option is the green community, which is a way from dubai proper, but I think the school is meant to be quite good (greenfeilds) and the rents out there are reasonable.

I feel your pain, we struggled and followed a whole lot false leads. We finally got onto an agent in the lakes called Hana, and sh showed us the most places and was able t tell us the diff b/w the diff villa's...I think her business name is Al zamil (sp?) real estate...if you drop me an email at mrslaughan at gmail dot com, I'll send you her phone number. I found dubizzle was a whole lot of following false leads

Well - she'll never do it again!!!! We have a no hitting rule in our house, but during this week I was sick with a tummy bug, on the couch with DD and DS (6 years) lept over us (he knows he shouldn't) anyway on landing, he landed on top of my foot - blinding pain and as a reflex I slapped him on the arm....I did feel a little bad, and apologised, but explained that although it was no excuse, he had hurt me really badly and di it without thinking. I know you can't explain it too your LO, but she won't remember when she's older and hopefully she won't do it again.... I had to give up feeding DD as she was a terrible biter,... and no matter how forcefully I told her no, and took her off she would just keep on doing it......and laugh at me the little blitter!

My mum is here, and there is no way around it - she is short and round. She wants to go shopping for clothes at MOE and is asking me for suggestions. I am guessing she is probably an 18 or 20. Where should I send her? She knows about Basler, I have suggested Debenhams.... She wants summer dresses and would love to get a beach cover up...... MTIA

Jojo was dumped at the Lakes club about 3 months ago...we took him in as he was making a nuisance of himself at the Lakes club and we were worried the municipality would be called. He was neutered, but not microchipped, and I had one response to the lost and found ad on dubizzle. Anyway he is a lovely affectionate boy to Humans, likes nothing more than a lap to curl up on, unfortunately he is beating up our cat really badly, it has come to a head now, as we have visitors, and it has become harder to separate them. We were really hoping that Jojo would learn to live with Max, but he seems set on driving him away. I will post some photo's this afternoon, but he is a lovely black and white arabian mau, he is very friendly and affectionate. He is pretty good with kids, and I think he would adapt to an appartment, as he is a home body...but he definantly needs company during the day! Unfortunately he could not go to a home with another cat, as I do not want anyone else in the same situation. If you would be interested in giving Jojo an forever home please email me at mrslaughan at gmail dot com Edited to add - I have had him microchipped, and fully vaccinated edited by Mrs Laughan on 21/04/2011

We have a Fisher and paykel with Gas hobb and electric oven. The oven is easy to control, but does run 25 degrees too hot - so I just adjust the temp down. (When it says 175, I set it too 150). Got it from Betterhomes? When we were looking only found 2 that were Gas hobb and electric oven - Electrolux and F&P...though there probably are others.
