Husband and I are both veggie and have had similar problems at most Thai restaurants. Little Bangkok have been helpful though, (we go to the one at Media City) and always try to accommodate dietary requirements where possible; husband goes for the red curry as that's his fave, I get the pad prik thaidum (very peppery dish) or veg pad kapraow. They do veggie versions of most of the dishes (ie no fish sauce etc).

I really like B/Attitude spa at Grosvenor House, but I've not been to the one at Anantara so can't compare.

Being married/in a relationship is like being in a team of two - you need to be able to trust one another, rely on each other and know that no matter what he's got your back. I appreciate that you've listed grievances, so there are none of the things you love about him in the list to balance it out - but it would have to be something pretty fantastic to balance out this list. It seems there are fundamental issues that you need to work out before you can move forward.

I did all my wedding shipping here (except shoes) - Ghungat for outfits (they recommended a tailor, I forget who), Rangeela for fake jewellery (Meena Bazar next to Rangoli restaurant) and Cara at GDP for gold/diamond jewellery. Best of luck with the planning!

well it's slightly more comforting knowing it isn't just me! How have you managed to make a social circle? all the online sights i go onto i only ever get replies from males, none of them just wanting to be friends hahaha To be honest I haven't pushed myself much to get out and meet new people (house hinting is such a convenient, time-consuming excuse!). Having said that, I am going to a couple of meetups next week, so watch this space!

Thanks both I wasn't going to pay for the VIP/urgent as have some time to get it all sorted. Mrs13b was yours a VIP one? Don't know if it makes any difference! Yes, mine was VIP as it was paid for by husband's company. Don't know how much of a difference it made, but it was all done in just over an hour (and it seemed very busy at the time).

PS4 bundle is cheapest at Carrefour (1799Dhs with 2 controllers and Fifa 15) - if you have the C4 loyalty card you'll get points for vouchers too. Identical package at Sharaf was 1999

Richmond registry Office is lovely, and has a small garden area too. It's only a short walk from the river, and plenty of green spaces. The All Bar One on the river has a conservatory and outdoor seating, you could get them to cater finger foods etc. http://wp.me/p2IC5N-41

How about the 11am RTA ferry from the stop past Marina Mall (opp the C4) to Al Ghubaiba station, which is a 90 min trip for 50AED, then a short walk from there to XVA (www.xvahotel.com/cafe/index.html) for lunch/afternoon tea? If they're up to it, you can take the abra across the creek afterwards and walk around the souks.

Try the one at MOE? It's an earlier start so probably suited to mums doing school runs or on a baby's schedule! Our even better, there's one at Dubai Mall: http://www.expatwoman.com/dubai/monthly_events_whats_on.aspx#MumsGroup edited by mrs13b on 15/12/2014

Thanks Are Mac's easy to use? Get your head around? Absolutely, I found it quite intuitive when I made the switch from a Windows laptop. I have a 15" MacBook Pro which is perfect for my needs. I didn't buy the Microsoft apps (available through the app store) as Google Drive covers everything I need for free.

What will you be using it for? Answers will then vary from Alienware (great for gaming, photo/video editing etc) to Lenovo Yogo/Microsoft Surface (2-in-1 laptop/tablets) to netbooks (small, light, great for light use on the go) to Macbook Air (thin, light). If you go for a Mac, you'll need to buy Microsoft software separately (unless you only need basic functions in which case you can use Google Drive online for free)

As a wedding photographer and someone who knows Fairmont the Palm intimately, I would say go for the beach and wow-factor as you have described. I can assure you that the photo opportunities here are amazing and guests will be blown away by what most of us begin to take for granted after a while.

Sorry, don't know what happened to the formatting there, posting from my phone: Thanks mrsb, I did this myself at home. You can buy stamping kits from Konad (they're at Dubai Mall). I just used regular polishes (Models Own and Barry M) and stamping plays from MoYou, all of which I brought with me grim London. N Bar salons do some nice nail art and may be able to do a lace effect for you if you don't want to splash out on stamping plates.

I'm sure you couldn't get banned for linking to a picture of a fingernail. Though stranger things have happened! Do it! Live dangerously! If I get banned, I want my legacy to live through the ages. What is it called, the lace design, I mean? What do I ask for at the salon? Occasionally I get polish done. It is truly gorgeous!!!!!!!

It's funny. <baffled with Maroosh's show> i loved HIMYM but was disappointed with the ending. Big Bang Theory is equally funny, and still ongoing. it may be sooner than you think, dear lace-nail-stamper! I had no idea about this. It does sound fun. If a little fiddly. Is it fiddly? Where is my takeaway????????? Not fiddly at all. MoYou has some good videos on their site to show just how easy it is. Thanks, Alismum. I like doing my nails at home, I find it to be a relaxing treat, and so much cheaper than getting it done professionally but with similar results! What's for dinner? I need inspiration. I had a soup for lunch and I'm positively starving now!

I think you must be new here. One can be banned for the slightest mishap. It is normal for most EWers to have been banned [strike'> on numerous occasions for no apparent reason[/strike'> I have not heard of stamping! I need to be stamped! What is Konad cart?! is there a whole other nail/stamping world out there???! Oh Tattie, it's a whole world of fun! Konad and MoYou are my favourites for stamping. MoYou are London based and ship internationally. Konad plates and sets can be bought here. They sell from carts/kiosks in Dubai Mall and probably others, too. If you check out the other pics on that Instagram account you can see more examples of stamping. I [i'>am[/i'> new to EW, and I suppose I will always feel new until I have gone through a banning induction ceremony!

Konad carts you see at the malls Hey - the pic was lacy, not racy - no way I should get banned. First offence - leniency pls!
