And I heard from the Burj Al Arab Guest Rlations Manager that are many women are goig tto cancel the voucher. Which is more than sad. So if there is somebody is now willing to give the voucher to me or my friend it would be more than great!!

Because most people who get a voucher for the spa in BAA would want to give it away...... But not all want to go alone ... and the questing is and was ... before somebody is just throwing it away. But I will ask at the 19th of ocotber how many really went there ;-)

Eh? I am guessing all the ladies who went to the EW BAA event got a BAA spa voucher, and this lady would like to go with her friend who is coming over from Europe- and asking if any of the ladies that went want to give her there's if they are not going to use it. Thank you that is exactly what i wanted to ask!!

Hi Ladies, I joined the Breakfast at Burj al Arab yesterday and received the Voucher for the Spa. I would to love with my friend when she is coming over from Europe and I asked myself if somebody will not use its voucher. In that case I would be more than thankfull to get this. ;-) Before wasting it surely make sense to make us happy!!!! Thanks in advance !!!

For me it seems like you have made already the decision. Everything you bringing up for Dubai is worser than same stuff in NY. Best example, you are talking about rediuilous rents in Dubai. I would say it is even worser a least the same in NY. Anyhow... even if somebody would recommend to move, what would it help? If you are really sad about the Dubai situation make this very clear to your husband and try to find together a solution. If it is only due to your career figure out why making a career is important for you. I'm old fashioned and wasn't it the meaning in good and bad times together? So leaving first with the kids would be for me no option ;-) Unfortenately nobody will really help you by only saying stay or go :-( edited by MrsColombo on 04/05/2014

I flew several times with same and can't share you experience. And how the Voting is done I have no idea but it was done by Sky Trax and World Travel Award. And how many airlines have you flown with? How many times have you flown? What would you think would make one an authority? Many years ago another airline won loads of magazine awards etc and then they were exposed as being major shareholders in those journals. I'm not working for TA neither I'm the Embassador. I just told my experience. For your information I fly up to 12 times a year. BA, Lufthansa, Condor. United Airlines. Qatar, KLM and so on. If that helps you further. Actually I don't like this style of Communication - I just wanted to help and now I'm feeling as I have to defense myself. edited by MrsColombo on 28/04/2014

Hi, I came here only two weeks ago. And I also tried to decide the living area in advance, but unfortenatly this didn't work. I brought a list of areas but ein ended up in a totally different one. Take one day time or even two for checking all areas which probably could fit. Also have in mind that if an Appartment fits for 100% than you are maybe willing to compromise in question of the area or also in the opposite way you are happy with the area but not with Appartment. Have fun during your area & house search and good luck

We have been living here now for over 10 months. And it is getting much better with taxis and food deliveries. We live in a 4 bed and our Dewa bill is around 4000- 5000 AED during the hot months and around 3000 AED now. Don't forget you are paying 5% of your rent housing fee. The 3 bed should be lower since there is no pool. JP is great for kids. We live in a very crazy hockey mad street. Hi - we also are looking for a villa in JP ... just to make it sure you are living in a 4 Bed incl. pool .. correct?

Hi, I'm not an expert.. but the colours of the summers are this year white, blue and yellow. Or totally in pastell - or metallic .... So with a white dress ... yellow will fit very well and mostly doesn't look overdressed. That is my personal opinion ;-) edited by MrsColombo on 05/04/2014

Just one question - why you don't ask him? edited by MrsColombo on 26/03/2014 Because this is the UAE, and not all is fair in love, divorce and custody. So true! It's not fair at all. God forbid he switches the tables on her and makes her out to be the one cheating. I might get some flack for saying this, but as an Arab woman I can tell you that Arab men, culturaly speaking (and there's exceptions and yes, this is a generalization) do not like being confronted, questioned, their wives assuming some sort of authority, etc. Of course, their are exceptions, as I said. However, from the little bit OP has described about her fears, it sounds like her husband falls into this generalization. Oh sorry, I wasn't aware that her husband is Arab

Just one question - why you don't ask him? Tell him your thoughts and fears. And how you feel. Why all these "plans" ? Confront him - have a plan what you want him to say. Stay calm and try to avoid crying. Worst case his answer is yes. But it would be a fair way. If the answer is yes. Stay calm and leave the room / house. Maybe it all has a simple explanation and you are making yourself only crazy edited by MrsColombo on 26/03/2014

Ok thanks now I understood... took some time ;-) So Dewa is quite expensive. And its better to pay a lower rent due to the relation to the Municipality fee. Ok another question is TV.... are you able to receive US or European TV as much as you want and what is the best why to get them? I know these are maybe "stupid" questions - but my head is full of informations and I'm sure I will forget and miss a lot before the moving :-( edited by MrsColombo on 25/03/2014
